Psychological warfare. It's one thing to see a jet flying in at you, it's quite another to see a human being towering over you ready to squash you like a cockroach. Well, they COULD have been engineered to grow a skeletal system laced with iron fibers to strengthen it. It'd seem to throw a wrench into the whole genetic compatibility thing, but... All we know for certain is that Komillia was defined as "very tough" by a rather calm Max when Millia threw her across the room to Misa(and missed, since Misa had to dive forward to catch her). One has to assume that means this sort of behavior was a semi-regular occurance in the Jenius household, and that it hadn't caused any major injuries(not to Komillia anyways). That would imply a signifigantly above-average durability in zentradi, even in infancy. ... Heh. I can just see Max explaining that to his parents. "Yes mom, my wife just through your granddaughter at you like a football."

Except I'd expect the squadron leaders were all ace pilots like Focker instead of raw recruits with a talent for getting shot down like Kakizaki. Attrition on the 30 1Ses should've been a LOT slower than, say, the brown 1As that they stuffed full of raw recruits with no flight experience, much less combat experience. If, say, 1 in 10 valks destroyed is a squad commander, than by the time the last 1S goes up in smoke, they're OUT of valkyries. Completely. If 1 in 5 is a squad commander, then they're down to 62 valks TOTAL by the time the last 1S goes up. It's a very simple equation, really. 182-30X = # ovf valks remaining after all 1Ses are destroyed, assuming no new ones are made or acquired. 182 = 212-XM = all non-1Ses on the Macross. M = # of non-1Ses destroyed for every 1S. X = # of 1Ses destroyed. Once you drop below about 1 in 4, you have a reasonable # of valks left over after complete 1S destruction. But the ratio shouldn't be that bad to begin with.

So ACTUAL backups as opposed to "backups of some guy in Taiwan's game"? In the US backups are legal, but only of your own software, not of Blockbuster's.

Having blundered my way through much of a Super Robot Wars game or 2, I think I can handle it.

Yep. Yamato loves you... for as long as your bank account/credit cards hold out.

The Minicon Leader-1 comes with Megatron, not Optimus Prime. Prime's Minicon partner is named Sparkplug. The confusion arose due to the English dubbing of the Armada anime. The Japanese name for Minicon Sparkplug was named Leader-1 while Minicon Leader-1 was named Barrel. Since the scripts were written in Japanese, the English translators slip up in converting the Japanese names into English equivalents, such Starscream's Minicon partner sometimes called Grid instead of its real name Swindle. Optimus Prime's Japanese name, Convoy, sometimes show up. Oh. I didn't keep real close track of it. I just got Leader-1 associated with Prime by virtue of being good guy leader. -

I still think the best use of the GoBots stuff is Leader-1 being the minicon that comes with Optimus Prime. -

Can you find a link explaining the YF-12, which is by far a more common story? -
Remeber the PS1? And the constant "newer better" chip releases as software started being designed to detect mod chips? Yes, they do think of ways to counter mod chips.

Or, in typical fighter-jock-bravado-style, he just figured: "It's just a scratch. . . i'm going to get laid!" Which, to my mind, is more the Foker style. DEFINATELY the Focker mindset.

I think it's supposed to have been shot down in the game Macross M3(not sure though). -
The Macross was a gunboat. It existed solely to haul the big cannon around. It's overpowered for it's size because that's what gunboats ARE. You may recall it had almost no other weapons. That's because a gunboat isn't supposed to operate solo. It should've had other ships defending it. You don't get to see Zentradi gunboats in-show, because, according to Macross Compendium's entry for a zentradi gunboat... Programmes: This medium-scale gunboat is used in planetary bombardment and large-scale fleet-to-fleet engagement. . So you're left comparing apples and oranges. I assume the Supervision Army and Zentradi are of similar tech levels, as there is no evidence to disprove the notion.

1. Not a clue. Assume it will be obsolete later, as companies start thinking up new ways to detect mod chips. BTW, I was looking around, nd are you sure it's not a Matrix MESSIAH chip? 2. Dunno. Doesn't look like it does. 3. No.

I've just had an epiphany. Soundwave is bad-ass. ... Now why didn't I realize this when I was a kid?

President Johnson DID mangle the YF-12 when he announced it to the public. He called it the A-11. It's believed he misread AMI, which stood for advanced manned interceptor. -
GULD RAPED ISAMU!

Wasn't that Deep Space 9?

Continuity? In Star Trek? Where? Seriously, I think that was the point behind making Enterprise take place before the original Star Trek.

SR was surveillance/reconnaissance, if I recall. If I had to guess, the M in M-21 stood for mothership, or something similar. The M-21 was another Blackbird variant, this one built to launch an unmanned drone designated the D-21(I'd bet money that D stood for drone). Only 2 M-21s were built(And under 40 D-21s), and one was destroyed when the D-21 failed to launch correctly and crashed into the fuselage of the M-21 under it(if I recall, the accident killed both the pilot and the launch control officer*). The remaining M-21 was retired immediatly after the accident. Dunno what the A in A-12 stood for. I meant perhaps the Mig-25 was built as an anti-surveillance plane(countering the threat of the A-12). Ditto for U(from the U-2?) * On looking the data up, both ejected safely and landed in the ocean, but the launch officer accidentally opened his helmet visor in and drowned. -

I stand corrected--I was fooled by the "A" into thinking the A-12 was a light bomber (like the A-20 Havoc or A-26 Invader). Nevertheless I seem to remember reading that the MiG 25 was developed in response to the "A"-something-or-other. Maybe it WAS the A-12. Anti-surveilance. ... In which case they were born purposeless too. Anyways, teh A-12's designation is because it was a CIA plane, not an Air Force one. -
Did you really play Dark Forces 2? Do you remember we actually get the lightsaber on the beginning of stage 3? I remember it. I remember thinking it was really cool. I remember finding out it didn't work like it did in the movies(cleaving anything in 2 with a single blow). I remember finding it thoroughly useless for anything other than blocking blaster fire or fighting the dark jedi.
