  1. I've got a Homebrew Computing Mark V. Features include: An AMD Athlon XP 2500+ CPU. 256 megabytes of 133MHZ DDR RAM. A GeForce2MX video card, with 64 megabytes of video RAM. A SoundBlaster Audigy. A 4/8/32x CDRW drive. A LS120 SuperFloppy drive. Lacking media and not using floppies much, the primary advantage is my BIOS ID's it as an ARMD(which stands for ATAPI Removable Media Device, but who really cares what it's SUPPOSED to be?). A Wingman Action gamepad, for, well, gaming(at least, games suited to gamepads). No fewer than 3 pointing devices(1 serial mouse, one PS/2 trackball, one USB trackball). 2 hard drives, a 20 gig and a 14 gig, both 5200 RPM. The Windows 2000 operating system. Yes, some parts need a little upgrading.
  2. Assuming that you actually EARN the force. It could totally random. Even worse, it may be specially bestowed upon players by the actual humans running the game(though it's very doubtful). Just something to think about.
  3. Ah. The D-21 is currently in service with NASA, if I recall.
  4. Should be. Otherwise you risk debris flying into your turbines.
  5. Mmmm... I use an SLR. And stripes and reflections both confuse the hell out of auto-focus circuits, for future reference.
  6. Y're sure? I know none of the drones ever actually photographed anything, but I'm pretty sure the only time there was ever any issue with the launch was the crash.
  7. Let's see what I remember... Eyeball = plain ol' TIE fighter. Squint = TIE interceptor. Impstar = Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Vicstar = Victory-class Star Destroyer. Brights = TIE Bomber? I'd guess Cross = TIE Defender, but that's really a shot in the dark. Dunno slim at all.
  8. STAMPEDE! ... C'mon, if Macross is ever gonna compete with Gundam in the mass market, it needs to mount an unholy # of guns on a mech. ... Or maybe I'm just a tad trigger-happy recently.
  9. 2 words. Manual focus.
  10. Ah. And it all makes sense now. Again, it all makes sense now. Actually, there was only one accident. The drones never really succeeded, but only one M-21 was ever lost.
  11. Yup. Scounge some old parts up and build an MS-DOS machine. Don't forget the ISA Soundblaster(my machine's major failing right now. SB16 emulation just ain't cuttin' it).
  12. What about X-Wing VS TIE Fighter? I never got that one,(my system was inadequate when it was available), but it looked good.
  13. *chuckles* I love that ad.
  14. Figures. I've been waiting over a decade for them to make this game, and it sucks.
  15. No..its quite relevant actually for comparison purposes. Or you can even say its the block 6 or later machines. the DYRL style controls is more of evolution of the original design. http://www.anime.net/macross/mecha/united_...s/variable/vf1/ Not really. The question has nothing to do with chronology, canon-ity, or anything else. It's just which you like better. I can like one corvette better than another without knowing what year it is. Hell, I can like a corvette better than a mustang without knowing which is which. It REALLY doesn't matter which came first.
  16. Weren't those all CF squadrons?
  17. Or from the fact that they're pretty obviously the same name, minor spelling quiblles aside?
  18. Which has no real relevance on the discussion.
  19. Almost guaranteed a reference.

    Hikaru 1S Review

Rubber Max... free with all 1/48 GBP purchases.
  21. Is it the oil yellowing, or the plastic is being damaged by the oil? My experience with yellowing is limited to an SNES deck that was restored with a washcloth with rubbing alcohol splashed on it.
  22. Hikaru's complaints about the sheer # of controls present in the VF-1D makes me lean towards the streamlined DYRL setup automatically.
  23. Or both. Don't forget the DVD format IS capable of branching.
  24. Chek a car with an automatic transmission. There's a lock button to prevent accidentally jostling it out of position. I would assume that VFs have a similar locking mechanism.
  25. It depends, do you mean the one based off a VF-1? Or do you mean the sketch for the VF-11 variant in Macross Design Works? So that's the plane under it! ... What? It's hard to tell when it's buried under guns larger than the plane... I shter ea pic of the VF-1 variant, or just descriptions?
