That one never worked for me in ePSXe. I used PSXeven, where you have to drop a bomb to make the boss enter. ... I hate PS1 emulation.

ARGH! YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD ROMS OF PLAYSTATION GAMES! NO SUCH THING EXISTS! A ROM IS A FRIGGING MICROCHIP, NOT A CATCHALL TERM FOR PIRATED SOFTWARE!

I just hope that Shadow Force's new enemy is the ebolans from the aborted Robotech: Crystal Dreams game.

Exactly. Well, in real world they chose to go for the ghost FV ... Dammit, why did you have to say something I agree with?!?

Of course, it doesn't really make SENSE to have direct uninterpolated control over anything. You shouldn't be operating individual fingers and such, you should just be telling the computer roughly what you want to do and letting it figure out the specifics(example "wrap the left hand around that future j-pop star standing in the crossfire like an idiot"). And the argument that you had to manually guide the mech through transformation was the dumbest thing ever. If ever anything should be pre-programmed with no user input... Ditto for balance. Your many years of practice with your body will be pretty much useless for balancing a giant robot, which has a diffrent center of gravity, diffrent joint tolerances, some major articulation differences in the foot area, etc. Especially since your inner ears won't be in the right place for balancing the mech(too low), and will lag behind the mech(because your head isn't securely fastened to the mech).

Well... I find the "never get old" attribute most common in, well, old games. Games you CAN'T beat, except maybe by crashing them(original arcade PacMan is like that, it gets totally hosed after level 255) Asteroids, Tempest, and RoadBlasters are some of my favorites. As far as newer stuff... Tales of Destiny is a big one. So's Valkyrie Profile. And Star Ocean 2(need to pick up SO3...).

by the way, that impossiblity you stated... is possible upto or over $500.00 Comlete Getter Robo: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?SHE030 Updates of the classic Getter Robos in single transformation versions: Shin Getter: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?SHE015 Shin Getter 2: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?SHE020 Mini version Getter Dragon: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?SHE022 Mini Getter Robo: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?SHE021 That all-in-one Getter always struck me as kinda ugly. It's an incredible engineering feat, but too many compromises had to be made. There's joints and seams everywhere. The 2 Shin Getters are interesting, though. Neat to see how the planes in the 2 packages differ(due, of course, to the design changes needed to make the target mech).

Asdf is right! That's a BEAUTIFUL Legioss.

I THINK PAL games will run nicely on NTSC PS2 decks. Not sure, though.

Guld wasnt cheating. I dont know how but with the brainwave system on the YF-21, Guld was able to use it to predict projected paths of the missiles so he would know where to go to avoid them all. Millard imo just found it surprising that he could dodge them all... i dunt think he was suspicious of it. If you saw the movie version, you would see that he wasnt cheating since theres a part where Guld dodges a bunch of missiles being thrown at him by the Ghost. I meant that I thought Millard was a parley to Guld cheating. While I think the BDS system is quite advanced, I don't think it could actually predict accurately the paths of the missiles. It's a very simple process, actually. If you know how maneuverable the missiles are and where they are currently, you can plot their future motion. Adding a moving target doens't complicate things as much as you'd think. In point of fact, it's a task that could be done NOW. But we have no real need for such a system, because we believe in chaff and flares, not out-flying the missiles. Countermeasures are actually a better idea, generally speaking, because the missiles don't have a soft squishy pilot to worry about killing with g-forces, so they can pull far faster and tighter moves. A missile can be designed to outfly any piloted vehicle that ever will exist. And even if we did have a need for a system like seen in M+, we have no way to rig an intuitive interface. That's where the BDI/BCS comes in really useful. Not only does Guld have a suite of advanced sensors and an incredibly powerful computer at his disposal, he's also got a perfectly intuitive interface to them. The sensors of the YF-21 are just like another set of eyes. Just eyes with diffrent ranges. The computer predictions may as well be worked out in his head, because he has instant access to them without looking away from the battle. Same goes for all his instruments. The technology is incredibly powerful. If Macross were the real world, I would expect it to show up again relatively soon. It's not the kind of thing that just gets thrown away and abandoned because it had one accidental murder attempt...

Pfft... SNK VS Capcom Cardfighters Clash is bestest!

Well, that's true. And I DO kinda like the PS2 design. But I've also looked at a 5200. Sexiest piece of hardware ever made.

I don't know what some people do with their ps2... I have mine since launch in vertical position and I NEVER had a single problem with it. Too bad the new one has no hd support... my HDLoader is indeed loaded I agree, only time I had a console break was when my cousin was trying to get a dirty game on SNES to play and kept turning the thing on and off until it no longer turned on. For petes sake, my atari 2600 still works, you just have to be gentle. But 2600s are built like a tank and have no moving parts. You simply CAN'T hold them to the same standard. Tehre's no cooling fans, no heat sinks, no laser tracks, no cd spindles...

I prefer Rondo of Blood in it's natural form. I really don't like pattern recognition filters.

Hikaru marries Misa prior to the Megaroad-01's launch, then gives birth to Miku months later. That's what Macross Compendium says. Waitwaitwait... HIKARU gives birth?!?!?! Man, I knew the future was a strange place, but... yup, in the future, we won't be limited to such narrow constraints as biolgical gender differences... both genders will be EQUAL even if it means massive surgery to make it so! Has equal rights gone too far? Next time on 20/20.

Disgaea is NOT PS1/Saturn level graphics. PS1 level graphics would have MAJOR aliasing on the map. It IS over-rated, though not massively so. There's some serious flaws in the gameplay implementation. I think it gets most of it's credit for being just plain fun. It's amusing if nothing else. Now if you want massively over-rated, go check out FF7. People act like it's the only video game in the world, when it's poorly written garbage that consists of more plotholes than plot; "gameplay" that wasn't exactly great a decade ago; and a few interesting concepts with flawed executions.

What's the deal with the power serges in MacII?

Dude, the "walking on air" metaphor predates TELEVISION! As always, you're reaching for straws in a .... place where there isn't straw. -
I want an old IBM AT keyboard. Heavy enough to kill someone dead, loud enough to wake them back up.

Memory stick is no worse than the other half-dozen flash RAM form factors out there. Actually, I'd have to disagree on that. Memory Sticks are expensive, akwardly shaped, fragile, and relatively large. When you consider that you can get the same storage capacities from a postage stamp sized SD card, and for less money, MS loses a lot of its appeal. It was also doomed to failure simply due to being a proprietary format. For what it's worth, I HATE SD cards. Same form factor as MMC, but they decided to not even attempt to be compatible with MMC readers. I also don't think DRM belongs on memcards, but that's another story(except that I think it's the primary reason they aren't backwards compatible). Personally, if I had to pick a favored standard, it'd be CompactFlash. It's big enough to be signifigant(smaller is NOT always better), and can make use of micro hard drives for grotesquely large storage at cheap prices. The contacts are also recessed and protected, while they are bare to the world on MMC/SD, SmartMedia, amd MemoryStick packages.

Yes. I think the argument is make japanese DISKS regionless. Not players. A regionless disk can be played in any region player. So an R2 player could play the japanese disks AND they could export them.

VICTOLY! Good to hear you got that cleaned up finally. And Anubis is right. Cannon fodder all the way.

Which chain has the WORST customer service?

My Circut city is terminally understaffed. Half the time there's not even anyone on the register. ... Of course, tehy use the return desk for ringing up sales, too. Saves them the effort of walking someone out to the registers. -

Tha thappened to me once in WalMArt. After 45 minutes waiting for someone to open the case and get one lousy video game out, I left. At this point some 3 people had been by. As near as I could gather, someone had hidden teh key in the stockroom and no one knew where.
