  1. I find a balance needs to be struck. Not too flashy, not too dull. *looks at pics of "original style Gundam"* ... Definitely too flat.
  2. In the old days, red = cannon fodder. Or Scotty. scotty was going to die anyways all the drinking he does He outlived Kirk.
  3. i call my toliet veritech. Mine slaps at me when I do that. that must hurt when you try to take a leak You have NO idea...

  5. Fair enough...I had a flat sheet of paper image. It WAS probably stupid. I still maintain the accents on valks make it hard to class them as "white mechs". The big red stripe on Hikaru's 1J chest isn't as pronounced as making the whole dang chest plate solid color, but it breaks the white up very effectively. The doubled lines of the Skull 1 are even more effective. ... And my fav is Millia's 1J, which uses white for the accents. *shrugs*

  7. The valks have accents. And are a more interesting design to start with. The pic I'm seeing has a fair bit of blue and black/gray. ... And I think it needs some extra color.
  8. I got my green one for free several years ago. But many stickers are peeling or gone and the "stock" on the gun is broken. And I'm under the impression green is more common anyways. But still... Even yellowed, that red one is a beauty. ... If you could even it out(and get it off the gray intakes), that would actually make a neat custom color variant, since it's restricted to the torso area.
  9. That was true but due to copy rights Tomino had to change the Gundam`s color. There`s another SW item in the first Gundam movie when the first time Amuro uses THE TRACKING or THE TARGETING SYSTEM in the RX-78-2 ! The way I heard it, they colorized the Gundam because the people funding the show wanted bright primary colors, because a solid white toy would look boring on the shelf. Yup. I you read the Gundam novels the Gundam is white until Amuro gets the second version G3 which is Grey. Tomino wanted it white but Bandai wanted more bright colors to sell more toys. Bandai made a good call, honestly. It would've been an UGLY mech in pure white.
  10. I was thinking Xerox instead of copier. But it's all the same concept.
  11. As has already been observed, they changed the color coding between the original series and Next Gen.
  12. You mean it doesn't? </sarcasm>

  14. Actually I *would* like to see a beam sabre. At least one more use -- I can either slice you, run you through, or slap you silly with it. A beam saber's can only do 2 of the 3. Hard to say about the origin of the lightsaber. It's probably a case of borrowing from each other... Lucas probably saw some poster or show with a energy weapon and refined it to the lightsaber, while Tomino probably saw Star Wars and refined his weapon into the beam saber. I fI recall, Tomino was inspired by Star Wars to the point where he wanted to do the Gundam in pure white so it would look like a stormtrooper.
  15. Make it a Gakken. Unless you think it'll scare the VFs...
  16. They didn't. It's all a vast conspiracy to convince us that armageddon is coming. Now, it all makes sense! All we have to do is prove the Illuminati link, and we're in business! It's very simple. You see, the Illuminati *gunshot* *drops dead*
  17. Kawamori wants greatly to never touch them again. Nothing mroe has been animated aside from DYRL(a semi-retelling of the original series) and Flashback 2012(a collection of music videos, basically. It carries us through to the launch of the Megaroad 1). The short version is... Hikaru marrries Misa. Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay leave on the Megaroad 1 colony mission, with Misa as captain(and why she let Minmay aboard I'll never know). They disappear near the center of the galaxy, never to be seen again.
  18. There is also another fight between Isamu and Guld in the OVA's. I say you need both the movie & the OVA to get the full feeling of Mac+. I agree with AgentONE though, the movie is superior. Yes. There are some incredible scenes in the OVA, including the Bonehead Battroid Brawl, as well as some good character development that wasn't in the movie. But the movie is a more cohesive story, likely owing to being the original script. They shoehorned extra content into that script to make an OVA to release first to get attention for the movie, and some of it was wedged in places where there wasn't space. Edit HAHAHA! The board recognizes an attempt at a trademark logo!
  19. Oh, come on. EVERYONE made fun of Freedom Fries, americans included. Yes, we did freedom kiss. But only to mock freedom fries.
  20. *shrugs* I think someting not ugly can be done based on that little animation error. Alas, my art skills suck, or I'd churn a few out myself. And I prefer the back-facing laser. It extends the lines of the head instead of breaking them up. 1A's never been my favorite head to start with, but the laser flipped forward messes up the look badly. ... It's late right now. This may all seem very stupid to me tomorrow. I honestly only mentioned it because I saw Agent ONE's "Valks with faces = ultimate lameness" line. There's always something worse, and for Basara's valk, that something is the 1R head.
  21. You mean like the Robotech Jack Archer VF-1R? Yes. Now moving on from the flamebait... Imagine if it was done RIGHT instead of making it a VF-11 ripoff(and a bad one at that). Just because HG made a poopie head doesn't mean everyone would. What is it that you want to change about it? IMHO, it looks nothing like a VF-11... it really does look like a VF-1A head with side lasers... Heres a drawn picture of it... whats "wrong" about it? For starters, the hexagonal shape of the head. The VF-1A head was never as ... streamlined, I guess... as the VF-1R head is, either. I do grant it bears a bit more resemblance ot the movie 1A head than the TV 1A head, but it reminds me more of a 11 head that's been smashed than it does a 1A head.
  22. You mean like the Robotech Jack Archer VF-1R? Yes. Now attempting to salvage what was originally intended for a quick laugh... Imagine if it was done RIGHT instead of making it a VF-11 ripoff(and a bad one at that). Just because HG made a poopie head doesn't mean everyone would. GAH! No idea where this came from.

  24. About the large images... Try cropping them. There's a lot of excess stuff in there, and you could quarter the size by cropping it out(doable with virtually anything that can open the image, all the way down to MS Paint).
  25. Could someone make one based off of that animation error with a 1A head with 1J lasers mounted on it...
