  1. Political intrigue isn't really the order of the day, though. 6, 9, and 10 only. ... Granted, they've tried for it in both of the last 2 movies.
  2. What about Generations? Next Gen blew up the Enterprise AND killed Kirk. Killed him twice, no less. I think the more theatrical flair of the original generation movies has more to do with the cast. Kirk is just a much better movie captain than Picard is. Jean-Luc is just too reserved to be a particularly strong movie character. Not a real flaw with the character, he just doesn't lend himself well to the theatrical expectations. I'll give you that... Generations was a lot more like a real movie than an episode of TNG. But, because the plot tied in heavily with the original Trek characters, I wasn't really counting it. Besides, a lot of the TNG stuff in Generations, like the sailing in the holodeck, still could have been ripped from the TV show. Fair enough. It IS a hybrid show. But they still killed Kirk twice. Precisely. Picard stands back and looks at everything before he acts. Towards a peaceful solution if at all possible, and the one that gets the fewest people on either side hurt if no peaceful solution is handy. And does it by the book whenever possible(which sadly includes him staying on the bridge while other people go and have all the fun). Kirk dives right in and doesn't care if he violates a few dozen laws(or even the prime directive) while getting the job done. He has no objection to blasting everything in sight if he thinks the situation calls for it, and is ALWAYS going to be found where the action is, regardless of regulations. I think Sisko would've made a good movie captain too. Honestly, he's my favorite one in the franchise. But they killed him off... sort of. ... Man, I hated how they ended that series.
  3. It would be appropriate... *still sulking over his multiple broken Trackses in childhood*

  5. Of course, as random PCEngine games go, you could do worse than Image Fight. Irem's a good company.
  6. It's in MAME. Vertically scrolling. Like DYRL arcade, only harder and prettier. And it has the missile strike, which DYRL lacks. And you get to choose one of 3 pilots/planes. Aside from the obvious Isamu/YF-19 and Guld/YF-21 we have a female in a VF-11.
  7. Ah... You are just looking for an invitation to touch em!!! I know this trick. Chicks are always trying to find some logical excuse to touch my balls also. That must be it. My avatar is clouding my judgement. Guess I have to ditch pseudo-Komillia for Focker, that oughta fix it.
  8. But what does it really MATTER when it's set? Honestly, what makes the average Voyager story and the average Kirk story diffrent, aside from writing quality? Okay, so skip Borg and Holodeck episodes. But that still leaves a lot of room.
  9. It's simple... $24,000 + utterly massive massive marekting blitz = ONE MILLION dollars.
  10. With a diffrent writer and diffrent cast, too. Surely no one can object to a new writer, though I personally LIKED the cast of Enterprise.
  11. Heck if I know. But it's funny.
  12. Well, his title really depends on whose penis that actually was. I liked it better when it said "I LOVE doorknobs!" personally.
  13. Or else you're confusing "tomatoes" with "peanuts".
  14. It's straight post count. Does nothing special aside from giving people a chuckle and adding a little more personality to the board than newbie, junior member, member, etc. Unless you do something to draw the right attention. Then you get a custom title, like Agent ONE.
  15. "I read an interesting piece online about the relevance of Star Trek," Jendresen said. "It posed the idea that maybe it's not relevant anymore. It was an impressive argument, but a fine story is always relevant, and I think solid storytelling that's rooted in the absolute spirit of the original series is what it was all about to begin with." Wisdom. It's not the age of the license, not the freshness of the concept, not who's playing what, it's all about how good the story is.
  16. From a real-world standpoint, it's because unpiloted mechs are lame unless you're watching Transformers. From an anime-world standpoint... would YOU invest in more AI after the Sharon Apple incident? My question was just ajoke, i'm just impressed how much the avarage UN pilots sucks. Train them better. Oh. I thought it was a commentary on how real-world jets are exceeding the forces a human pilot can take without passing out, much less Macross-universe stuff like the YF-21.
  17. Exactly... Some friends of mine dragged me to see that, and it was probably one of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen. I envy you. The worst movies I've ever seen are so bad that I refuse to name them for fear it might make me remember them.
  18. I say give him some lawn darts and let darwinism take over See, I don't think that'll work. I was channel surfing awhile back, and I saw this video show. On the video show, some guy got his quad up onto the roof of his two story house (how is a mystery), then tried to jump the quad off the roof and into the pool, which was several feet away from the roof. Well... he didn't make the pool. But after a trip to the hospital, they had him back on his feet in a few days. Face it... health care in the US is just too good. The idiots are surving natural selection's attempts to do away with them. True. On the upside, we also survive all sorts of inherited problems like asthma(yes, severe asthma IS life-threatening) and epillepsy.
  19. You will only notice the entire "Glowing head" feature on Rick's and Roy's heads (white plastic). I've seen photos of it happening on a Millia. Not that cameras capture the world as a human would see them, but it might depend on the individual toy owner.

  21. *cackles maniacally* You are evil incarnate. But that's what they get for molesting their english teachers. Tangentally, Moeko's Owl is NOT funny. But likely the best one up there.
  22. I thought the Mac2 game was kinda weak. The timer was an un-needed feature and detracts heavily from the game. It was a pain in the ass, but it made sure you couldn't progress in the game by simply throwing in credits. Actually enforced that the player had soem sort of skill. Still though, hard as hell. But fun. And it beats continue points... I see what you're getting at. I tried to buy victory in Darius the other day. The continue feature cuts out on the last level. And RayForce/Crisis give you a bad ending if you continue. Dunno about Storm. Taito hates me.
  23. I thought it was illegal in Canada to visit there for the purpose of using the lower age of consent. Guess I heard wrong.
  24. How can anyone not care? I use a 32" Sony flat tube. It's got some image problems, but it beats the crap out of the other sets, which are cheap 25"s. Sure I'll use something else, but I vastly prefer the nice set. Bigger screen, sharper image, better sound(best set's the only one with a home theater setup, one of the other 2 is freaking mono), better experience. And it has component video coming in from the DVD player. The other 2 sets are composite input only(well, and RF. But who uses that?). Not even s-video. It's only an NTSC set, sadly. No cash to get an ATSC one yet.
