Actually, they're usually sold at a slight profit. PS2 launched at a loss, but started making profit as Sony got the production streamlined and chip yields up. XBox has sold at a loss its entire life, but MS doesn't care. They can and do subsidize it with their PC OS profits. MS isn't here for profit, they're here to expand market share. Modern business logic says that if a company isn't expanding, it is dying. With the PC boom having died down MS lacks room to expand their primary business. With WebTV and UltimateTV being dismal failures, they HAVE to subsidize the XBox. Saturn fell INTO selling at a loss while trying to keep up with the PS1 price.

I think it shows up a good half-dozen times, at least. It's in basically every scene where a destroid on the Macross bites it, because they reused the same sequence for every kill. And it wasn't really an official valk variant. Just an in-joke like the beercan missiles.

That's funny, because if you WATCH THE SHOW, that U is very much audible. The point you're trying to make is that YOUR romanization takes precedence over the creators' romanization. The creators of Macross romanized it as Macross. The creators of MOSPEADA romanized it as MOSPEADA. There is no question of vagaries of the language, diffrences of translation, or anything else, because it's already BEEN romanized by the creators. Your argument consists of "the creators have no f'ing clue what they were trying to say." Scrap the quotes aoround official, as they are clearly intended to imply that its NOT the official spelling, or that there is no official spelling. The creators DID have an official spelling, they made a whole english logo and a damned acronym around it. You're being a dumbass. That's nice. Shame this is a textual conversation, so all the nuances of sound get lost. Maybe you should use a pronunciation key to type it next time, since you're attempting to represent the sound of the word. Or better yet, use the actual japanese characters instead of making up a romanization. Why attempt to render it into a completely foreign alphabet at all? Also... maybe you should start correcting the spelling of english words. Like know. That's spelled TOTALLY wrong. It should be no, and that's how I intend to type it from now on. I think that's the problem, actually. No one can prove ANYONE doesn't own the rights. So we have... was it 4? diffrent companies all sitting on their "rights" to the show waiting for someone else to move so they can leap like a pack of rabid starving jackals and rip them to shreds. Good for you, still doesn't change the fact that the official romanization of the name is MOSPEADA. So while the rest of the world looks on at you with confusion you can rest easy knowing that you know better than the Japanese creators of the show. Upon consideration, I retract my statement about the rumor of Rockstar leaking the uncensor code being just stupid. The fact that it was a 1-bit flag toggle makes it look like it was intended to be re-enabled. Hell, they had to ADD code to process the flag instead of just killing the "mini-game" access At best, they were considering releasing an AO-rated edition. More likely they were hoping someone would find and enable it.
