1. Yes, but I'd be hard-pressed to say what they are right now...
2. I haven't heard any such announcement. And my brief Google search doesn't turn anything like that up. I HAVE heard some in the US complaining because very few nations have offered aid, though. It DOES seem like something of a slap in the face, given that we routinely offer aid up every time something happens internationally(and often get criticized for either not doing enough or butting in where we don't belong). Yah... it's staggering to consider. It essentially has been. Louisiana law doesn't have provisions for anything CALLED martial law, but they DO have provisions in their state of emergency laws that serve a similar effect, and state of emergency was declared last friday. http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/paperchase/2005...martial-law.php Well, part of it is that it isn't JUST the people that died in the hurricane and aftermath. New Orleans doesn't bury their dead, because they tend to rise back up during the next rainstorm. They keep them in above-ground mausoleums. Mausoleums which were inundated in the same flood waters as everything else. So basically every dead person in NO is out there bobbing around now. Every culture handles things a little diffrently. It's really one of the interesting things about people, how diffrently 2 groups will approach the same situaiton.
3. If I recall, most of NO IS black.
4. That's what's wrong with Plus and Zero. No bridge bunnies. 325149 Well, there's always Lucy in Plus. Singular, and there's not even a bridge for her.
5. That's what's wrong with Plus and Zero. No bridge bunnies.
6. Lasers make everything better. And plasma claws. Don't forget plasma claws.
7. Appears Squeenix is sick of the clamoring of fanboys. 324891 And why not? I know I'm sick of Squeenix's fanboys (and girls, since their games seem to have more female fans than other series... you think the stream of shonen protagonists might have something to do with that ). 324961 I'm sick of them too, don't get me wrong. Just didn't expect Squeenix to essentially come out and say "We aren't doing it, now leave us alone." I think you were looking for bishonen, BTW. *still annoyed at the death of the never-officially-announced Parasite Eve sequel/remake*
8. Seconded. Seriously, I find the Robosapien more interesting than the Roboraptor. Though I've been seeing the raptors in stores for some time now.
9. Fair enough. I'd credit Voltron more than Robotech for my interest in anime, though Robotech certainly had more lasting appeal. Or maybe (Gods, I hate to admit this) Sailor Moon, as that was the program that made me aware of anime AS anime, instead of just as cartoons. But yah, most people automatically identify with the one they saw first.
10. Robotech was not presented as anime either. It was pitched as just another cartoon. Yes, that's true. And THAT is what originated much of the raw hatred Robotech experiences today. Harmony Gold refuses to say. So no one knows.
11. I don't fit your case(grew up on Robotech, dislike it now), so ... You mean the animation and toys that can't be released in the US because every time someone tries to Harmony Gold raises hell? Riiight. Why would we be looking for Robotech-branded Exosquad toys if Robotech never existed? I don't see anything that makes Robotech the better choice for any age level. I could read well enough when I was 5. But this wouldn't be an issue, except that Harmony Gold refused to let anyone dub the original programs. Again, I don't see how. I see HG brandishing Robotech, using it as a sword to defend it's market from the evil japanese merchandise that, lacking an accessable american market of any sort, is targeted primarly at japanese consumers.
12. I think that's where most of the outright hate comes from. Otherwise it'd just be another forgettable hackjob from an era full of them.
13. Appears Squeenix is sick of the clamoring of fanboys.
14. As the grunts in HALO say when you throw a plasma grenade on them: "VERY BAD THINGS! VERY BAD THINGS!" 324857 HAHA! But yeah... this smells of more napalm than a Mac7 thread.
15. I would bet that the bundle reserves are insurance. They want to make darn sure that they move the launch titles. If one of them turns out to be a real dog, everything they slapped in a pre-sell bundle is gone anyways.
16. I don't think they've survived anything quite on this level The city's at the bottom of a lake now. I'm sure they'll rebuild. But it'll likely be from the ground up. And unless they're just absurdly stubbon(quite possible, really) it'll be on ground a little higher.
17. One of many things I hated about the movie. But all of them are naked stealth if you take the clothes off. Anyways... I suspect the revolver is just because they were sticking several distinctive guns into the package. I think every Ghost fan knows it's all about the Seburo, though.

Macross PS2 Game

A boot disk that persuades the PS2 valid region software has been inserted, and a case replacement that lets you change the disk without opening the drive, thereby avoiding a region check on new disk insertion.
19. Good luck, neptune. ... Was watching the news... New Orleans may as well have been nuked for all the damage that's been done. Hurricane broke the levees, and the city was below sea level to start with. Parts of the city are under more than twenty feet of water, and water's STILL flowing in. I'm not sure they CAN rebuild. Looks to me like the city'll have to be moved and restarted.
20. I would say all of them. Start with the original TV series. Robotech was not a faithful rendition. And it sucks. From there, I'd do DYRL, if for no other reason than it's damn pretty. Wouldn't do it first, as it really expects knowledge of the TV series, though Robotech MAY fill that role(it's been years since I've seen RT). At this point it's worth noting that, for purposes of series continuity, the TV series is considered the "real" version of Space War 1, although DYRL seems to be the official visual style. Then I'd go to Macross Plus. I personally prefer the movie version of this one, but both the movie and OVA have their strong and weak points, so watch both versions. Right here I'd insert Macross 2, with the footnote that while it is an amusing animation program, it is not "true" Macross. It was created without Studio Nue's input and has been banished to an alternate universe in the official timeline. So it has no relevance on anything. But it's darn pretty, and an enjoyable show. From there, go back and watch Zero again. Then watch Mac7, despite it's reputation. I think that's all the animation programs.
21. It was a used book store, and they said they just hang up whatever loose items they should happen to get. So they must have found one or both of those sets of boxed prints, and decided to hang them up. lucky for me I guess. 321495 Yes. Strange policy, but whatever works I guess.
22. You mis-spelled ridiculous. Just FYI. 324243 Nope, thats the new way to spell it. Maybe you didn't get the memo explaining if I do something different, than thats just the way it is forever. I'm the trend setter baby. 324248 Oh, okay. Thank you for informing me, as the memo did in fact get lost before it reached me.
23. You mis-spelled ridiculous. Just FYI.
24. Macross 7 was operating under peace conditions until the conflict began, so Battle 7's fighter squadrons at the time of the Fire Valkyrie's creation didn't need to be upgraded on a priority basis. I still say that logically, you upgrade select military vehicles before you go about rigging custom planes for squirrely pseudo-scientific endeavors. If I'd been running it, Diamond Force would've gotten first dibs on the VF-19s, and Basara would be flying a VF-11. Plenty of those to spare. That's interesting, to say the least. I wonder why the idea was dropped.
25. Actually, Chiba's early tests found it sent Gamlin into extreme distress. Of course, Gamlin had to eventually come to enjoy(or at least tolerate) Basara's music, as otherwise the show would've had heroes disliking heroes, which isn't part of the formula. *shrugs* Maybe I'm just bloodthirsty. Keep trying to kill main characters off. They still got very little action in the target-rich, panic-prone civilian environment. The UN Spacey fighters kept them out of the main goal for the most part. That's what I mean. Basara "showed" them how to create spiritia instead of just hunting down others that had it. It's not directly comparable to the zentradi situation, but there's some parallels if you stretch it enough. Something like that. And then right at the end of the final battle, Basara surged up to a high point even by his standards(after nearly blacking out with everyone else during Gepelnitch's hyper-lunch session). Interesting that everyone hit their peak as death loomed imminent. Now that I'm thinking about it... Looked like anyone, properly motivated, could do at least something. Not Basara at his peak, but certainly Basara at the beginning of the series. Which actually makes sense, if it's tied to how much emotion you put into it. The death of everything in the universe might be a tad abstract, but the death of humanity should be conceptually close enough to home to bring out some pretty powerful emotions. Particularly given that they aren't that far out from Space War 1. </rambling> *nods* It's just disappointing that they never went into any detail. I'd've LOVED to see that explained. Especially given the dim view that several of the other high-ranking officers took of the whole thing AFTER the protodeviln proved immune to everything but Basara's singing. So yeah, I have to agree with Gamlin. The question needs a proper answer. True. But my point was that Basara got his VF-19 before Macross 7's elite combat pilots. And he got a CUSTOMIZED one on top of that. I would think that Diamond Force's VF-17s would have been upgraded before they started customizing fighters for side projects with no real relevance(at least, not at the beginning of the series). Or given Basara an older plane, like Mylene's VF-11 and Ray&Veffidas' VF-17(and they got theirs AFTER the project had proven itself of signifigant and immediate military value).
