I'd say play on hard even if you're going for the B ending(which he'll pr'ly hit if he's just playing, and not yanking walthroughs down off GameFAGs or something similar). More characters, more items, and just all around more fun.

Because odds are good the PSP port was a contractural obligation. As I understand things, Sony's had to blackmail a lot of developers into making PSP games by refusing them other things unless they agree to make X number of PSP games. So the PSP is getting a lot of quick&dirty ports because companies are trying to fulfill that obligation as fast as possible.

Arcade version was the original. People usually think of the Saturn disk, though. Takes a hell of a machine to emulate the ST-V, though. My Sempron 2800, while not the best computer ever, is still decent. And I can get 16% of full speed on MAME with max frame skip. I'd assumed modded Saturn or disk swap. Saturn emulation is still pretty bad as far as I know. Heh.My reet warez is all out-of-production stuff, as far as I know. I don't mind theefing it if it don't hurt nobody. And I do buy remakes/ports when they show up. *chuckles* Moral, but illegal(despite what some abandonware sites claim). Copyright doesn't care if they're selling it or not. Yes. Unreleased prototypes are still copyrighted.

The japanese are not in the habit of airing domestically-produced programming in english. You could make an argument for a similar experience, but the original presentation is diffrent unless you're using the japanese audio track with subtitles disabled. Some of the other things implied by as originaly presented would be with the 1st airing opening, ending, and commercial cut. Speaking of commercials, "originally presented" implies the existence of vintage ads in those cuts, too. And 1 episode a week. So it's not really a similar experience either. It's just more marketing buzzwords. What they MEAN to say is that it's the first time Macross has been available as not-Robotech. Which is a bald-faced lie. It might be the first widely-distributed english RealMacross release, but it's not the first.

Except they were sorta-maybe killed off because Kawamori doesn't want to revisit them. They kind of DID have "the end" stamped on them, though. The TV series closed the story rather effectively. Most of Hikaru's plot in the TV series revolved around his romantic interests, misadventures, and screwups. Once you finalize all of that, there's not a lot left to do.

The ST-V one IS on ROMs. And yes, it bothers me to see a technical term that actually refers to a specific piece of technology misused just because it's easier to write than "pirated software."

Yeah. But I already have it. 2 Gennys(Original and mark 2), one SegaCD2. And Lunar 2, which makes it all worth while. Moreso since it's complete and in mint condition. That lets you command a premium. Actually, the SNES is a pretty pricey machine right now. It's "gone retro" so there's an absurd amount of interest from people that had 'em when they were younger and want to recapture it. Unfortunately, the market gravitates towards titles that are well-known in the US, so japanese games, with few exceptions, don't draw an awful lot of cash. But the Robotech card could keep this one up there. But I do feel obliged to go on a pet peeve rant now... ROMs are the original games. ROM images are the files used in emulation. ... Excepting Satellaview software. That wasn't distributed on ROM, so it'd be RAM images.

Well... if you have a mage with a staff that enables great magic, and use them last, you can do utterly MASSIVE damage to every enemy in the field. Beyond that, it's just for style. But style aside, don't go overboard unless it's the final guy on the field, because you've got charge points to worry about.

Indeed. I liked the timer too. Was nice to have a world where just hunting rabbits and sleeping for 6 months actually affected something.Fortunately, there's enough time provided to do everything(if you don't get killed). I wished there was another way to gain materialize points, though. Ran through all my allotment a few times while I was learning the gameand was stuck with no way to re-equip or heal(I ran out in the final dungeon on my first playthrough, so no napping). Shame about the glitches, though. At least the US version is mostly bug-fixed.

I've had all 4 of those PS1 titles for years. All good choices, of course. I strongly recommend leading with VP. tri-Ace is God. And because I got a toy, I have to play... How about "Protoculture is not a battery in Macross"? Or "the invid did not attack in Macross"(in point of fact, the MOSPEADA portion of Robotech takes place at the same date as Macross Plus)? You're confusing publisher with owner. A far too common mistake. HG licensed ADV to do the DVD releases of Robotech, MOSPEADA, Southern Cross, and the reissue of Macross. Animeigo had the FIRST Macross license from HG, but HG refused to renew it. No. Macross 2 is the only alternate universe Macross product, though many people dislike Macross 7(it's a very super-robot style program, and as you know, most other Macross productions feature a more military style on both the mecha and characters). The movie Do You Remember Love is SORT OF alternate. Officially, it's a movie created within the Macross universe, similar to the real-world Pearl Harbor film. It's not an accurate portrayal of Space War 1, but it IS part of the main timeline. Robotech's an alternate universe as well, but it's not Macross.

We've seen them all. Along with Macross 7, for better or worse. And you're confused. Macross and Robotech are diffrent products, in diffrent universes. Harmony Gold uses Macross footage for the first half of Robotech(followed by Southern Cross and MOSPEADA), but it's not Macross. Or even anime, IMO. IT's an american production that uses several anime programs to provide the visuals and portions of the plot outline. They won't resurrect it because Sentinels is, by most counts, a horrid piece of work. They've written a new story called Shadow Chronicles to take its place. By most counts it is less horrid. Likely never. Aside from a large portion of the Eva and Akira camp requiring shiny visuals to watch the program, HG lacks the marketing skill needed to resurrect their cash cow. Also: file me in the "Eva and Akira are way overrated" camp.

Tomorrow I'm gonna get an Alternator Shockwave(I like Shockwave, and I don't have any Alternators yet, for some reason), and some question marks.
