Amusing incompetence on the part of Sega's arcade division... "Metal Slug 6, on Sega’s AW Hardware System, is the 7th installment of the comical and combat-filled Metal Slug series, but the first to land on any arcade platform." I'm sure SNK will be glad to know that their long-running series has finally made it into the arcades, a full decade after they put it there. The press release can be found here.

Anyone Here Uses A Widescreen Monitor On Their Pc?
JB0 replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Could keep them both. Add a second video card for the old screen, or upgrade to a dual-head card. ... But that's just a TAD overkill, I guess... Totally unrelated, but... you have the original image for your avatar? Me like pic. -

Some of the old problems have alomst gone away. Like ghosting. But they've been replaced by newer problems, like color artifacting. And other older problems are still around, like piss-poor resampling of non-native images. Read reviews. From reputable places, not "customer reviews" from web stores. Find the models you're looking at on computer review sites. The more info they have, the better. Tom's Hardware seems to do very thorough LCD reviews. http://www.tomshardware.com/graphics/index.html Not really. If you can talk a clerk into letting you play with it, you can feed them a few movies and play a few games, but ultimately a store display is the absolute WORST place to judge any form of screen, be it CRT, LCD, DLP, VGA, DTV, etc. Optimally, getting one home and just using it for a while would tell you if it was what you wanted. But stores tend to be frown on previews. Actually, in my experience, they frown on any return for any reason, up to and including "It's completely and utterly broken"(they tried to charge us a restocking fee on an exchange of a broken device once). -
I reet warez'ed 'em. Really should legalize 'em nwo that it's an option.

HAHAHA! I think it DOES say all that needs saying.

If I'm not mistaken, backlight bleeding = the light oozes through, making blacks appear gray. All lit LCDs do it to some degree or another, making "true black" an impossible achievement(though most get "close enough" and some get very very very close). Games that don't support widescreen mode will fill the entire panel and look stretched out. Everything will be a little fat. Doesn't bug some people, but it drives me crazy. -
I always thought "the S word" was shrothand for "don't be stupid." But then, we never DID ban MGREXX...

Even Solid Snake: Pro Skater? I need to pick Substance up JUST for that. Subsistence brings Metal Gear 1 and 2 to the US legally. The MSX versions not the watered-down NES port and half-assed adaptation.

All I want to see is Harrison Ford going "Snakes... why did it have to be snakes?"

Don't expect anything on the caliber of Macross Plus or even Zero and just enjoy the characters and their interactions. With that in mind you'll be fine... 385232 Oops, actually I meant I only saw the first ep of zero non-subbed, I already have all of 7, including movie, plus episodes, and dynamite. [And that's all I'm going to say about it]. 385313 "LISTEN TO MY SONG!" "Umm, I'm really not a fan of rock mus-" "LISTEN TO MY SONG!" "Oooookay then..."

That's why I added it...I think Nintendo will get a few more votes this time around. 384839 Yeah I was way too distracted by AgentOne last time. So is there ANY videos or demo at GDC for upcoming Revolution games?! 385180 Nope. We'll see something at E3 since they too are launching this year. No one seems interested in the fact that Nintendo still showed nothing yet other than a slightly revised rev controller; instead people are harping on Sony being close to launch this year and when we'll get playable demos. Go figure. 385187 Problem with Sony is they're really pushing the graphics angle, but they pull so much bullshit that no one can't tell if it's real PS3 graphics or not without actually playing. Nintendo isn't pushing the graphics angle. They're pushing control. And they HAVE run playable demos of that(the Rev hack of Prime 2, and several minigames). 385195 Saw the old ones. The question was at this past GDC were there anything for upcoming Rev games. If there were videos and demos I must've blinked. Unless you count the Prime 2 footage as placeholder for the Rev Metroid? From before GDC. 385197 I dunno. I was just pointing out why people were all "playable plzkthx" for the PS3 and not the Rev. The Rev's already shown it's capable of what Nintendo promises. The PS3 hasn't yet.

http://www.geekblue.net/archives/2006/03/n...o_revolu_2.html Revolution rumored to be named "Go." Fans hope it doesn't stick.

Standard causality paradox. A painfully common staple of anything involving time travel. End of the Circle is only unique in that that's the full extent to which time travel is involved. ... I hate causality paradoxes.

Be interesting to see what direction the new poll goes...

Gold 97 Altima.

AFOS was the big birdmech in Macross Zero. But macross.anime.net for all your information needs. WOOT!

And his hair was too small.

Don't care is more likely. They've been isolated from their people, alone in the middle of nowhere, for millenia. The protoculture empire is more like their Atlantis or Babel at this point than their Rome. They don't really give a crap what hare-brained schemes it concocted.
-
That depends on the success of the Southern Cross Papermation movie.
-
A better question is why they're even using those characters in the first place. I mean, all those years of RT diehards telling us how Sentinels wasn't part of continuity, and how it should all be disregarded in favor of some fanfic, here we are in 2006 seeing those same sad characters showing up in the first truly "official" RT product since '85. 384424 This'll probably deviate from the comics and the novels too. I'm just wondering if they're using a single set of new character designs for the comics and cartoon, or if they're re-redesigning everyone for the video.

24. Feeling 16 or 60 depending on the day.
-
Okay, but are they using the same character designs?
-
Well, the regent still looks vaguely like an ambulatory penis, but other than that... I understand drastic redesigns of the Sentinels characters. They were never really part of continuity to begin with. But beyond that... these aren't even "inspired by" designs. They're just random characters that happen to share a name. ... Except Edwards, who clearly stole Britai's faceplate and hit him in the face with his new bucket.
