1. Typically, the game industry uses a 1:1 exchange rate for USD-Euro prices. It's part of why Europe just isn't a signifigant part of the market. If they get in a price war with the Rev, they're screwed. Period.
2. And people wonder why anyone would think Sony's in trouble...

Srw A3 Dyrl Moves

You haven't lived until you've seen an SD VF-1 strike a pose. Oh sweet! Info High, FM synth style!
4. No.I know where to download a disk image, though. ROM doesn't mean "pirated software"
5. *laughs*
6. If I had to bet... pillarboxing of 4:3 sources. Well they better because the signals change over pretty soon! Anyways I kinda pity the people who have HD and get the Rev with it's lower resolution, because they are either gonna be switching back and forth between screen ratio's all the time or will have an ugly black ring around their screen. 387129 A. There ARE 4:3 HD modes. B. Letter/pillar-boxing isn't that ugly. People are just obsessed with having full screen coverage. Which is why TV manufacturers make sets with absurdly high overscan. It guarantees no one will see any evil unused screen, regardless of how off they ship the sets.
7. That's the word on the street. Part of Nintendo's effort to keep the price down. Personally, I think it's a smart move. Nintendo is aiming at a $150-$250 price tag, most people don't own an HDTV yet and aren't likely to for another few years, and the Revolution is rumoured not to be nearly as graphics intensive as its competition, relying instead on the new controller to introduce a new style of gameplay. 386977 The phrasing is odd. It sort of implies the Rev won't work on an HD set. So just to clarify... it'll WORK on an HD set, but only at 640*480.
8. IIRC, Toho was responsible for that train wreck. They had been awarded (before the legal FUBAR) distro rights outside of Japan. Those rights are either gone or on legal hold pending a resolution of the BW/HG-Tat legal circus. 385458 So, is it then impossible to buy in the US a copy of DYRL? I would like to see a version of this that isn't on a 15 year old vhs tape with sound that resembles talking inside a tin can, and a dubbing so terrible that the voice actors must be mentally challenged. 386933 Pretty much. There's some documentation problems that confuse the DYRL issue further, if I recall. I think there;s 3 or 4 companies that think they MIGHT have the rights, but none of them are sure. If it was JUST HG, they could point to the VHS releases and say HG lost their chance to prosecute by ignoring it then. And that's why you see Macross 2 DVDs but not DYRL.
9. That's just silly. So yeah.. I heard Britai is supposed to be an accurate representation of him.
10. I don't know, but I laughed my rectum off at it.
11. It could be done with something similar to the PSP's UMD cartridges. Personally, I was hoping for a flash chip mounted in the UMD shell to avoid the need for an external save media. And the SNES coprocessors were a bandaid. The SNES' CPU was massively underpowered for the tasks it was asked to do, resulting in slowdown and/or restricted gameplay concepts without additional horsepower. The Genesis didn't use coprocessors because it's CPU was powerful enough that it didn't need them. The notable exception to this rule is Virtua Racing. Like FEAR? I've heard it's possible to make even the highest-end setup currently available grind to a halt with that one. I don't have release counts handy, but if the library size IS declining, it's due to the massive jumps in development costs in recent years. ... That actually puts the Revolution in a stronger position. It's been designed as simple hardware to code for, while the XBox 360.and PS3(especially the PS3) are nightmarish monsters because of their processor setups.
12. Locked threads. She delivers the touch of death. ... Of course, that'd be too in-jokey.
13. Probably 5 years again. That's been the rule for the NES era, the SNES/Genesis Era, the PS1 era, and the PS2 era. We've done modular. It's even more frustrating. Partially because cheap upgrades don't happen. SegaCD? 300 at launch, with limited support. 32x? 200 at launch, with no support. Most signifigantly, as it's the most fully-realized modular system, the IBM PC. A gaming-grade computer will likely require a 200$ upgrade every year or 2. Once the system becomes easily upgradable, game developers quit optimizing the software and just start requiring upgrades. Doom 3 is a rarity in that it was optimized, and WOULD run decently on something besides the last year's worth of hardware.
14. Yep, yer right. So instead of adding a stupid ghost, why not just put the "GO TO LAST UNREAD POST" link inside the KITE/SKULL ROUNDEL and not create an all new column just for that? You can have the added feature without adding a column. It is really hosing my PDA. 386701 No one created a new anything. They just replaced the old icon with a taller one. Moving it into the skull would require a lot of hacking of the board template.
15. Can the board use PNGs? Or are we avoiding those because MS STILL hasn't fixed IE's PNG support.
16. I don't care. As long as it does something, and looks cool doing it.
17. You just clicked the button to go to the first post you haven't read. Real good extra. 386354 That's what the "LAST POST BY:" hyperlink is for. Minmei's wraith is now not only obnoxious but redundant as well. 386486 Are you sure? "Last post by"shonld, logically, take you to the last post. Last unread post takes you to the last post you haven't seen before. There's a signifigant diffrence.
18. Too bad Max decided to do it by putting the gun on his Valk backwards instead...
19. While amusing, the green for locked threads would be confusing. I'm still seeing a generic IPB folder icon or 2(the "Which Console Pt. 2" thread has one, for a quick example). Does anyone know what those are actually tied to?
20. As an interesting sidenote... Lion Force Voltron is 20 episodes longer than Golion. World Event Productions actually comissioned the animation of new episodes since it was so popular.
21. But I DON'T like the kites. They look like flame-wraiths of Minmei... 385881 *laughs*
22. NINTENDO SIXTY-FOUR REMOTE-CONTROL CAR!
23. Could keep them both. Add a second video card for the old screen, or upgrade to a dual-head card. ... But that's just a TAD overkill, I guess... Totally unrelated, but... you have the original image for your avatar? Me like pic. 385609 Yeah, I did,, I hooked both of them up for a while for testing... the 2005PFW was alot brighter than the 2001FP and it looks pretty small too. I didn't take any pics at the time. Similar to what I did with 20" LCD awhile back.. Yes it was overkill so now I only have one,, and dual display it to my TV from time to time when needed. ah,.. my desk was so clean back then,.. not like the mess it's in now. Mmmm... I don't really have space for multiple monitors(or a spare monitor to play with). Be nice to have in the future, though. WOOT! Thanks!
24. I still like the Animeigo art.
