  1. Only FPSes I've ever really spent a lot of time with are Shogo, Dark Forces, and Duke Nukem 3D.
  2. That's not new. The exact wording is, but the concept is expressed in pretty much every software license ever. Even most open-source licenses explicitly deny ownership except to the original author.
  3. SLI as an upgrade path hasn't borne out like it was initially promoted. Either you upgrade so fast you should've bought a better card to start with, or by the time you upgrade, you can get a single card that will outperform your SLI rig for a similar cost. Assuming you can even still FIND a matching card. While this is easier now that the restrictions have been eased(originally the cards had to be identical models), it's still by no means guaranteed that the chipset you need will still be available at retail when you're ready to upgrade.
  4. I propose a universal naming scheme. ブリタイ・クリダニク is henceforth to be referred to exclusively as "Chromedome" エキセドル・フォルモ shall be known exclusively as "Ol' Lumpy" ミリア・ファリーナ・ジーナス will be referred to as "Hot Mom" I feel this new naming scheme should remove any confusion, and make it quite clear that we're talking about the Macross characters as opposed to their Robotech counterparts, who are referred to under the new system as "Poopyhead," "Poopyhead," and "Hot Poopyhead.
  5. That's actually controlled by the motherboard. The BIOS typically has an option to set it to "instant-off" or hold for 4 seconds. Buuuut... it won't instantly kill the system from within the OS. It'll send a shutdown command to your OS, which will put it's stuff away before it kills the system. All hail the soft power-switch in all it's shades of gray! By ATX spec, the only "hard" power switch is on the back of the power supply. And it's not intended to be used except in select circumstances.
  6. Not this again.
  7. I've almost grabbed First Strike Prime a few times. I keep realizing that, even if I like the paintjob, I STILL don't like the underlying design. And I'm still waiting for another Shockwave. A man can dream.
  8. Primus dammit... now you're making me want one.
  9. *blinks* DE CULCHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Same. I was fortunate enough to have a cash infusion bucks come my way at the right time to preorder it, given I was a kid with no job.
  11. The Animeigo release is about the highest quality possible, given the source. DVD passed the limits of the original film grain, and Animeigo actually had to add film grain back in after they restored it.
  12. Ummm.... the Mac Plus DVDs have TWO SEPARATE SETS of subtitles. Depending on whether you select english or japanese audio, it selects a set of subtitles to match. Which line? I don't recall that issue. I remember V1 of the first OVA disk had some severe issues. That could've been part of it. Not that I think Manga did a great job with the franchise(I'm STILL waiting for them to do the movie DVD right), but...
  13. That was a Robotech-ism. In real Macross, they all live. BOMBA! That's likely, actually. They injected Minmay and Sharon Apple, and even Mac2 for some reason, into Mac7.
  14. Mao showing up in Frontier is stretching credibility a bit, really. Unless she was on Macross Island and caught up in the fold accident, she probably got toasted in the final battle of Space War 1. Of course, they DO have jets that completely seperate into multiple parts during the transformation, so...
  15. Relativity experiments involving event horizons.
  16. 2 "words"... ZOMG RARE!11111 Seriously. Game collectors will pay absurd amounts of cash for anything if it's rare.
  17. I repeat: Good ol' Chromedome.
  18. Good ol' Chromedome.
  19. You can use 3 extra remotes as "trance vibrators" for 3x the fun! Seriously, I dunno. Hell, I've had the DC disk image for I think 2 years now and never tried it out.
  20. Only if he can pass on his skill of luck.
  21. Shame he's not devious enough to hide his machinations long enough for them to work. He'd be more effective if he ACTUALLY killed Megatron instead of just TRYING to. Punch, on the other hand... was totally irrelevant to the US continuity. (I always thought that was a neat concept. But I think it was gone from shelves by the time I found out it existed.)
  22. When comparing the Dancouga to Nova, any cheap shot is acceptable. Is that 32cm to the top of the head, the top of the wing/ear antennae, or the top of the back cannon? Not that it's a huge difference either way, but... Yah. I WOULD like to see some side-by-sides of the SOC Dancouga and the CM's Nova once it comes out. Just to see how they compare. The individual beast machines probably benefit a lot from the larger size. Especially given the Nova head unit is so much bulkier than the original Eagle Fighter to start with(that was the weakest part of the SoC by far, though they tucked a fair bit into such a small piece).
  23. It almost seems like a Forgotten Worlds sequel.
