  1. Sadly, he was like that out of box. He seems stable for now, but he's liable to do the splits if anything happens.
  2. Yes, it's TOTALLY Tatsunoko's fault that no one knew these things would be worth money in 20 years. NOBODY else has ANY troubles.
  3. You all make me sad. My Jazz sucks. He doesn't line up right in car mode, and his hips are loose, so he doesn't pose well at all.
  4. I gather the DS version also has deformed sprites, since it treats the original graphics as having square pixels, when SNES pixels are actually wider than they are tall.
  5. I approve this plan.
  6. Besides, I think the VF-17 might have more information on it than the VF-25 at this point. Not that that says much, but....
  7. And the music. Some of the music is awesome. ... Nope, still not feeling any better.
  8. It's really a shame that the anime only gets to cover the first path. There's a LOT of detail in paths 2 and 3 that you miss out on with the anime. Including some fairly significant details, like the exact nature of the Holy Grail. There's obvious reasons for them to skip all that, since the paths all go in wildly different directions from very early on in the game, but it's still a shame. ... What? I didn't just admit to playing porn games. No sir, not I! (For the record, I only even LOOKED at the game because of the anime. I'd like to believe I'm not yet creepy enough to follow visual novels. ) (There's a translation for the game HERE if you're interested. The "H" scenes are mercifully sparse, especially given how badly written they are. ) (... And now I'm RECOMMENDING porn games! Something is very wrong with my life.)
  9. The NES game was just Macross, and it was the final battle of Space War 1(well, probably). ELS is a PCEngine game. Also a strategy game, I think.
  10. As I recall, it only SORTA looks like a 1A head anyways. It mainly looks like someone held a blowtorch to the head until it got runny.
  11. Sadly, I can actually say I expected a lot worse. You overhyped! Seriously, the Guyver link strikes me as more wrong.
  12. Until someone punches you in the head and you melt... (I have part of the manga. Vis quit publishing it 2 books after I started looking at it. I think they lost the license for some reason.)
  13. I was 4 in 1985. Trust me, I was that dumb. 1999 saw the start of some utterly horrible PR. I was actually on the RT forums at the time. This was before they started deleting references to Yamato. Were some good people there. Was just way too busy for my tastes.
  14. Especially after they said Robotech COULDN'T be remastered, because the cut and edit lists were lost. Harmony Gold: Insulting your intelligence since 1999.
  15. I haven't seen Mac2 in ages. Saw it on cable, never bought the DVD. I remember Ishtar had great taste in fashion, though.
  16. And can you IMAGINE the shipping costs for a new backpack hinge?
  17. I kinda suspected something was up when the Southern Cross and MOSPEADA DVDs came out. AnimEigo wasn't allowed to dub Macross because "Robotech is the Macross dub" and "it'll confuse people"*, then Southern Cross hits and WHAM! there's a dub. So I can't say I was surprised when HG refused to renew their license. I'm not sure if they got into bed with ADV right after they signed the AnimEigo license, or if they were just using AnimEigo to get the video remastered at no cost to their REAL DVD manufacturer. *As opposed to releasing the same Robotech episodes in six different packages with different bonus features at the same time! That won't cause ANY confusion at ALL!
  18. "Hime?" We have a winner!
  19. Dammit! You did that just because you knew it would make someone curious if you were making crap up, didn't you! I will not find a copy of this just to see if you're telling the truth! I WON'T DO IT!!! I STILL HAVE A SHRED OF SANITY LEFT!!!!!!!!!!11111111111
  20. A lot of the GoBots were pretty sweet toys, regardless of the cartoon and naming scheme. I wish I knew WTF happened to my old bucket o' GoBots.
  21. BEWARE, I LIVE! It has a Sinistar for a head. Seriously. http://onastick.net/drew/sinistar/ I don't necessarily consider this a BAD thing, but...
  22. So've I. It was just the best example I could think of. I don't even LIKE Ikaruga, but I insist that credit(blame?) for the game go to Treasure, where it belongs. Publishers getting the credit drives me crazy. I'd really like to see games get more like movies in one respect. Packaging. If they highlighted the people responsible for products, beyond the usual ZOMG MIYAMOTO nonsense, it'd be a lot easier to track who was actually doing the good work and who was just copycatting. Granted, if PN03 had been billed as "From the creators of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry!" people would've come in with even MORE incorrect assumptions about the game than the "Tomb Raider in space" expectations it got saddled with... Actually, maybe not. It was a pretty clear DMC descendant.
  23. The Spiderman movie also idled for quite some time. The Metroid game has been licensed for a movie three separate times at this point, if I recall. None of which have ever gone anywhere.
  24. Does anyone know if there's ANY plans for widescreen Animated DVDs? I'd like to not buy the current DVDs and then find out they did it RIGHT later. And you seem to be confusing a franchise installment fueled by nostalgia with a wholly original work. Though not wanting to bank on the brand's history WOULD explain why the leader is Optimus Prime, a name with no sentiment or history, instead of the legendary Skeleton Convoy. And why Optimus is voiced by some random dude off the street instead of the same guy that voiced him over two decades ago.
  25. I'm just here for the point. I wasn't a fan of the book.
