  1. I'm not convinced there ARE worse hands available. It's been a constant downward spiral of incompetence, mismanagement, and war on the fanbase for probably two decades now. I didn't invest. Not because I hate Robotech, but because there was zero chance of me getting a return on my investment. I WANT to see Robotech be a viable, if not necessarily thriving, title. But it won't happen without someone new in charge. It's all been downhill roughly since they "suddenly realized" they owned all of the Macross franchise outside Japan and started suing everyone and registering trademarks they don't use in an attempt to prevent anyone from gaining access to the cartoons that Robotech is largely responsible for them wanting to see in the first place.
  2. I find it funny that Japan made a big deal for a while about chroming the Classics toys while the US WASN'T chroming them because it was dangerous if it broke. Now WE have the shinies and JAPAN gets the boring old plastic! No, I don't really care if it's accurate. I like the shiny.
  3. To be fair, Tommy seems to have a lot to learn about how a lot of things work.
  4. Me Grimlock no sexy, me Grimlock KING!
  5. You know, it really puts all the crap we gave Takara about MP Megatron's scrawny skeletal legs in perspective. Knowing he had less than two weeks to make the thing work, I... well, I still wonder what Takara was thinking, but no personal blame on the man responsible for crafting the toy.
  6. Close enough. The only reason I give it ANY chance to be credible is because NASA's tested the damn thing on their own equipment and somehow generated thrust. If, and this is a VERY BIG if, there isn't a loophole somewhere that they overlooked, some gimmick or trick, it is friggin' non-newtonian motion and flies in the face of any understanding of physics. To my eyes, it's rather telling that NASA opted out of trying to explain how the damn things WORKS. Or as they put it, "This paper will not address the physics of the quantum vacuum plasma thruster, but instead will describe the test integration, test operations, and the results obtained from the test campaign." They aren't pretending to know what they've seen, and preserving the most wiggle room possible for later follow-up statements. Because what they're seeing is patently ridiculous. It's only noteworthy because the... THING... appears to work on NASA's test bed, not just halfway around the world in Elbonia. And it appeared to work both on the "proper" test unit AND the "defective" unit that wasn't supposed to be able... ummm, was supposed to be EVEN LESS able to generate thrust. I fully expect to see a more mundane explanation come out than "screw conservation of momentum", but the results should be interesting regardless. Either everything we know is wrong, or someone managed to punk NASA while NASA was expecting to be punked and actively looking for tricks. And neither answer is boring.
  7. And I know of at least one project that had a big spender drop enough cash to go from missing widely to right on track with less than a week to go. And another where an investor contacted them after the Kickstarter failed offering to front the entire goal amount out of pocket. Not that EITHER was going to happen in this case. They may've had a big spender circle in and bump it, but it wouldn't be enough, and some of the big spenders already on there WERE going to pull out. As far as a mysterious benefactor showing up post-kickstarter... who would give them money?
  8. Ah, they're porting RE:Make. I'm honestly surprised it took them this long. I really expected them to have PS2 ports immediately after RE4 did. So is RE:0 next, to complete the GameCube trifecta?
  9. I think they actually had a seance and asked their good buddy Carl for help writing the script from beyond the grave. But they spilled coffee on the ouija board halfway through, so that's why they say he only wrote part of it. Or, you know, that they want to throw Macek's name around and plaster it to everything because he can't defend himself anymore and they think it gives them some credibility/deniability.
  10. Beyond Good & Evil ended on a cliffhanger. HEY, UBISOFT! STILL WAITING!
  11. You mean the Matrix ISN'T a green lantern?
  12. Yes! We should go post that at robotech.com. Remind everyone the class of people they have in charge.
  13. But how many animation studios had a banner hanging overhead while the people that cared about him were trying to lay his remains to rest? I REALLY wish I'd saved the photo of the Robotech ad at Mr. Macek's funeral. Because GOD DAMN.
  14. You're quivering with excitement. That's not quite the same as a shudder. The comedy train never stops at Harmony Gold! Oh, lord, I just realized... "Project by Harmony Gold Productions Los Angeles, CA First created · 6 backed " APPARENTLY, the Robotech budget has gone to funding LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow(good on them, for once), as well as the fifty-five thousand dollar potato salad. I wonder if Mr. Argama knows where his money is going.
  15. They're filing a lawsuit for patent infringement, because Carl invented crowdfunding. Judge: "Right, well, that seems reasonable enough. You seem to have neglected to supply the patent as evidence, though." HG: "Oh, that's confidential business information, we can't show it to you. But you can take our word for it." J: "That's.... not how intellectual property law works. We can't just 'take your word for it'. We actually need to see your patent to verify your claims." HG: "Funny, it's always worked before..."
  16. No funds will be returned, because no funds were collected. Everyone would be out two hundred grand if it weren't for Kickstarter not collecting any money until the end of the campaign IF the goal is met. Also: What the heck am I supposed to do with my evenings if I can't watch the Kickstarter implode?
  17. The FAA just doesn't want anyone to have any fun, that's all there is to it.
  18. That's an interesting mis-spelling of Super Metroid. Quoted for truth. Mass Effect is a great game. It's a shame they never made any sequels.
  19. I wonder what the Beta unit for a VF2SS looks like.
  20. It'd be funny if there was a huge rush of donors and the kickstarter succeeded with a wall of enemy spy donors.
