    That was what I meant. Sorry for the unclarity. The game itself is Williams's, but since they don't own the trademarks or characters(aside from Jr), they can't do anything with it. Well, they could replace all the sprites and change the title screen and sell it as ORIGINAL MAZE GAME PIZZABEANIE., but... why?

    Well, while I don't know any specifics on the Macross Movie, I DO know of a good example of the situatio from video games. Pac-Man Jr was created by Williams, before Namco revoked their license. Namco does not own Pac-Man Jr. It belongs entirely to Williams. Williams, however, does not own the Pac-Man brand. All rights to it reside solely with Namco. Neither company can port, reissue, remake, or do anything else with Pac-Man Jr unless both companies can come to a mutual agreement. No one has, and they aren't likely to ever do so. * I imagine similar issues would plague the Macross Movie script. *(Tangentally, this is not a problem with the Williams-created Ms. Pac-Man because Williams gave it to Namco. Basically, Namco got pissed that they were making unauthorized sequels in the form of Ms Pac-Man, so they transferred the rights to Namco as an appeasement so they could continue licensing the Pac-brand. Williams then proceeded to continue making Pac-Man sequels until Namco cancelled the license "for real this time" . So Namco owns Ms. Pac-Man, even though they didn't make it.)

    I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at the existence of a TurboGrafX Gradius, but... I am. At least it's close to the arcade. Gradius without four options just isn't Gradius. It's like... R-Type or something.

    No lie, I think the brainmaster gimmick is awesome. It just seems more "Transformer" to me than the headmasters and powermasters did, and I'm glad it made it into the MP version. Basically, the more I see of Space Brick, the more I like him.

    Pretty much anything could be slotted in for comic backstory. It's not an issue that ever comes up. Amen.

    In the Major's case, it's probably not even her "real" name. At least in the comics. Which is not to say that I'm looking forward to the movie, but, well... I've already had my heart broken with this franchise before. Another bad movie won't be the end of the world.

    Herculite sounds like a trade name to me. Like Plexiglass, Lucite, or Lexan. Certainly, it implies a substance unknown to modern science, but in the lens of trade names it's less silly than in if it's a proper material designation. Edit: Wow, I literally missed an entire page of posts. Sorry.

    So over the weekend I was made aware that the author of Full Metal Panic had another series animated recently, and marathoned Amagi Brilliant Park. In which a high-school student is drafted at gunpoint into managing a ratty amusement park and saving it from shutdown. It's... pretty much exactly what I expected. Except that I really really really wished there was more when I was done. And then I decided to rewatch Utena. And started with the movie, because I was apparently feeling the need to damage my sanity. Thing is beautiful, but defies almost all sense of logic and reason.

    I grabbed Powerglide because he has a real-life alt mode with a known real-world size for scaling purposes, while still being in the "non-combining autobots" camp. If we're not limiting ourselves... MP-scale Metroplex. Let's go big or go home.
