It's still a shamefully hideous shuttle. Removable parts is FAR from the biggest issue Blastoff has.- 17824 replies

Bad news? From what I can glean from the URL and a bit of googling, it's some sort of free-to-play team-arena shooter called Figureheads. Your "character" is a robot you can customize(a la Armored Core), and apparently Squeenix realized they owned the rights to a rather popular sci-fi robot franchise. I THINK they're announcing Xenogears skins for a Team-Fortress-em-up. But I DO hope I'm wrong.

With that battery life? Not likely. Also, industrial labor does not always adopt the latest and greatest tech. They adopt the tech that gets the job done efficiently and cheaply. Note that in the real world, despite the existence of very large airplanes, most cargo is still shipped by trucks on roads, or on honest-to-god TRAINS like they're stuck in the 1800s. Really, I just wanna see the return of the robot coke machine. -

I take the term "real robot" to not mean the robots are realistic, but that they are utilized realistically. As in they mass-produce that crap, the machines are military hardware instead of unique devices, and no one trusts a twelve-year-old kid with a weapon of mass destruction. -
I will!

When will Clive Sinclair stop unleashing these horrors upon an unsuspecting populace?! WHEN WILL THE SUFFERING END?!?!?!?! I have a... dim view... of the Spectrum.

What's weird about thinking of a vector arcade game as retro? Naw, retro is a state of mind.

Techno girls are better than either. And since Mikumo is TOTALLY AN ANDROID, that means Delta wins. -

Indeed. The same pre-established magic that keeps pilots from turning into red paste on the canopy when they pull a ridiculous 20G turn. -

Which looked like a by-the-book standard cliche magical girl show in the first episode. Also, I take issue with the insistence that Walkure is magical and the shield drones are mind-controlled "god drones". The drones are shown to be FAR from omnipotent(they can project holograms and force fields in the immediate vicinity of the drone body for a limited amount of time), and by all appearances are gesture-controlled. As for Walkure... they have bug bulbous mechanical devices around their waists(the likely source for the thrusters seen firing from their skirts), and holographic costuming has been a thing since DYRL. I see them doing very little that can't be explained with established overtechnology. They are FAR less ridiculous than, say, thirty-foot tall humanoid creatures or fighter jets that turn into giant robots. Thank GOD Macross takes itself seriously and never got mixed up with THOSE absurd cliches. I know! If only they'd thought to equip the Valks with some sort of limited barrier as a kind of pin-point defensive system! How could they miss that? Seriously, all I see in the drones is a pin-point barrier, a holographic projector, and a gravity controller. All of this is technology that's existed since SDF Macross. WHERE is the new setting-defying capabilities you claim they have? -

Well, Blurr was a targetmaster... And Powermaster Prime came very close to being a headmaster. A headmaster and a powermaster. And a triple-changer. The headmaster robot would also be a triple-changer, with head, robot, and Roller modes. Making him a Powerheadmaster double-triple-changer, I guess. He was perhaps a tad excessive. In any case, they seem to have forgotten to put his head back on his body when they pulled him back down to Earth, so he's STILL got a snap-on head, it just doesn't transform into anything. A head-apprentice, if you will.- 17824 replies

We could've drafted a vehicle development history and a short story involving it's operation.

There may be heavy resistance to any sort of "forced" micloning among large portions of the zentradi populace. They are historically proud of their stature, and there have been historical attempts to limit their size to human-scale. Telling them they can fight, but only if they wanna submit to micloning might be deeply offensive to them. Besides, regults are easy to make. One assumes they remain so even after augmentation to raise their standard of survivability and ease of operation. And, well, millenia of tradition don't die easily. They may fight to protect culture instead of destroy it now, but "if these weapons were good enough for my genetic line's first generation, then by Minmay, they're good enough for me!"

Nice. I hope they bring the second card over too. ... I wonder if this means that parting the games out individually as downloadable titles didn't do very well... (This is mildly annoying, because I bought the best of those games individually back when it was first up for download)

Gravitational waves produced by the merger of two black holes, incidentally. The process converted three solar masses of matter into energy. That's a LOT of energy to hit spacetime all at once..
