  1. It's a little late, but one of the most anticipated game platforms of all time finally launched. Behold, as the first complete game ships for the Super Nintendo CD! http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13907&start=45#p166176 Friggin' Nocash. One month, minimal documentation, and he has an emulation up and running. God only knows how many untestable bugs are present, but...
  2. Ah, the board shorted you on slots? Sucks. I've got an oversized vidcard and four expansion cards. I thought workstation boards tended to have more expandability instead of less. I don't have much against onboard peripherals, aside from them being seen as an excuse to limit expandability. Cooling's not a big deal, though. Very few expansion cards draw enough power to be an issue(pretty much just the graphics adapter). I DID have to sort mine to ensure the tiny one that didn't block my video card fan was by my video card, though. Because video cards continue to be insanely designed.
  3. Meh, expansion cards can get you that sweet 3.1 lovin'. I mean, my best system's socket 775(weep for me!(or not, I got an upgrade planned)), but I still got USB3 ports through the magic of PCIe. Added more SATA ports that way, too. Use the slots, they make life complete.
  4. Really? I was at Target yesterday and they had basically nothing.
  5. You know, I've long held that the only way to make Salamander better was to add a cyborg chick in a bodysuit. ... Okay, I have never said that before. But that doesn't make it less true.
  6. MP Trypticon and Scorponok, to scale?
  7. That's a pretty impressive torpedo rack she has there.
  8. As I recall, FFTactics prices crashed along with Xenogears prices when Square finally got around to printing Greatest Hits versions, and I don't think they ever really recovered. As far as modern reissues affecting price... I know Chrono Trigger SNES crashed HARD after the PS1 port came out, and the PSP version of Valkyrie Profile knocked the PS1 version down quite a few notches too. Chrono Trigger may have recovered, but it's only due to Super Nintendo collectors with more money than sense driving an unsustainable bubble. Mark my words, there's going to be a huge market correction in the next couple of years, and Super Nintendo games will crash in price(likely as a result of the market being flooded with bootlegs of high enough quality to be indistinguishable from the originals).
  9. They still look sweet. Can't wait to see the final products, seriously.
  10. That's sheer craziness. I mean, c'mon... a flying robot with three modes? It's totally a Getter Robo ripoff.
  11. You know if you do one lion you have to do them all, right? We won't be happy now until we see you activate the interlocks, connect the dynotherms, and form the head.
  12. Ironically, metal content was the death of my MP-01 Optimus. Or rather, too much metal content. Poor guy was top-heavy, did a barrel-roll off the shelf to the floor, shattered his ankles.
  13. That'd require a hardware change. Right now, the pads simply don't present as XInput devices(and it's immediately obvious why, when you consider that's a Microsoft-controlled standard). On the other hand, they DO present as HID gamepads, so they work fine as standard gamepads. On the third hand, HID gamepad is poorly-supported by modern games for some good reasons(there's no physical reference in the standard, so default button mappings are wild guesses) and bad reasons(MS will GIVE you the code to do XInput, but not a real standard). In conclusion: I have too many hands, and you're still gonna need a HID->XInput wrapper.
  14. I'm still having trouble getting excited again. I can't ride this on-again-off-again-on-again roller-coaster.
  15. Well, R2 implies DVD, since BR has alphabetic regions.
  16. Current Humble Bundle has TIE FIGHTER. MOTHERLOVING TIE FIGHTER. Also X-Wing, X-Wing VS TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance. And some other games no one cares about. Night of an Old Republican or something. Whatever. The point is TIE FIGHTER.
  17. I'm surprised it got in for anything at all, much less that it won. Not because it's a bad movie, but because it's science-fiction. There's an automatic uphill battle just because of that.
  18. You know, being seven and a half feet tall would seem to make hand-to-hand combat instruction difficult. It's just a tad out of scale for normal encounters.
  19. You've got a NeoGeo? That's hot, and you are the envy of every child in the nineties right now.
  20. That's a really interesting variant of Saber Alter. All the angular faceting on the heavy armor gives her an almost mechanical look. But the flowing hair, bits of exposed leg, and large portions of unarmored torso make her "organic" origins unignorable. The clash is... actually really well-suited to that variant of the character. The open back irritates, me, though. She's so heavily-armored on the front and sides, then the back is just "whoops upskirt lol", with no grace or contrast. It undermines the overall impression the rest of the figure presents.
