Having had the pleasure of playing Galaxy Force II in the ultra-deluxe arcade unit, I must say that it loses a bit by not being mounted in a 3-axis hydraulic cockpit that spins and tilts with the action. That said, the 3DS port benefits a LOT from the added visual axis. Those Sega sprite scalers lend themselves very well to the addition of depth perception.

Gaogaigar is awesome. He starts as a robot lion,Galeon. That combines with the cyborg pilot, Gai, to become GaiGar. And that then combines with a stealth bomber, a bullet train, an a drill-tank-thing to become GaoGaiGar. Who later gets a transforming tank-robot that transforms into a giant fist and doomsday weapon/squeaky hammer that he ADDITIONALLY combines with. It is a show that revels in being over-the-top. Also, there is a police-car ninja-robot named Volfogg. That happily gives scale the finger as it combines with a helicopter and a motorcycle to make Big Volfogg, the most creatively named combiner ever. And these robots are all literally powered by courage(the G-Stone at their heart is some sort of emotional catalyst thing), so it makes logical setting sense for them to get more powerful when our heroes get worked up. It's really hard to overstate how much I adore this show in all it's earnest silliness. Aquarion is also awesome, despite the combinations(which are taking a pun too far.). I have no gushing over-the-top things to say about it, but it's pretty cool.

Honestly? I hit preview post before I did that. The "botched" tag was artistic intent... for certain very shallow definitions of artistic.

Hooray for the march of science! That'd be my excuse, that it used to be true but medical advances made it possible.

While tragic(a tree blew over onto his truck while he was driving his daughter around), he's actually not involved in the Pokemon video games, beyond title logo and packaging. He was more involved in the card game and "trading figure game"

The Aquarion is too sexy for this thread. Would it be wrong of me to nominate Godannar? ... Yes, yes it would.

It's a little late, but one of the most anticipated game platforms of all time finally launched. Behold, as the first complete game ships for the Super Nintendo CD! http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13907&start=45#p166176 Friggin' Nocash. One month, minimal documentation, and he has an emulation up and running. God only knows how many untestable bugs are present, but...

Ah, the board shorted you on slots? Sucks. I've got an oversized vidcard and four expansion cards. I thought workstation boards tended to have more expandability instead of less. I don't have much against onboard peripherals, aside from them being seen as an excuse to limit expandability. Cooling's not a big deal, though. Very few expansion cards draw enough power to be an issue(pretty much just the graphics adapter). I DID have to sort mine to ensure the tiny one that didn't block my video card fan was by my video card, though. Because video cards continue to be insanely designed. -

Meh, expansion cards can get you that sweet 3.1 lovin'. I mean, my best system's socket 775(weep for me!(or not, I got an upgrade planned)), but I still got USB3 ports through the magic of PCIe. Added more SATA ports that way, too. Use the slots, they make life complete. -

You know, I've long held that the only way to make Salamander better was to add a cyborg chick in a bodysuit. ... Okay, I have never said that before. But that doesn't make it less true.

As I recall, FFTactics prices crashed along with Xenogears prices when Square finally got around to printing Greatest Hits versions, and I don't think they ever really recovered. As far as modern reissues affecting price... I know Chrono Trigger SNES crashed HARD after the PS1 port came out, and the PSP version of Valkyrie Profile knocked the PS1 version down quite a few notches too. Chrono Trigger may have recovered, but it's only due to Super Nintendo collectors with more money than sense driving an unsustainable bubble. Mark my words, there's going to be a huge market correction in the next couple of years, and Super Nintendo games will crash in price(likely as a result of the market being flooded with bootlegs of high enough quality to be indistinguishable from the originals).
