You are the second person in thread to say that. And I'll be the third now, because that was what I was thinking too. Also herbivores. Most animals get pretty violent sometimes.

You know, that was the FIRST step along the dark and heartbreaking trail of Parasite Eve 3. Hard to believe it got WORSE after they changed to "real videogame hardware".

Bandai Gobots/Machine Robo Series Toy Thread
JB0 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Bike Robo and Eagle Robo. Because in the proud tradition of lazy cartoon robot names, Machine Robo is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Makes Hook and Cy-Kill look like the works of a true genius. -
Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017

Particularly if you come at it from the comics version, where her background is vague enough that we don't even know her birth name, much less her original face. And there's the rub. Johannson isn't inherently a problem, but Hollywood has a proud history of jacking up an easy win.- 751 replies

Bandai Gobots/Machine Robo Series Toy Thread

It is all about the drilltank. Is it just me, or does their Leader-1 look kinda goofy? Like he forgot his pants or something. -

JB0 replied to treatment's topic in Movies and TV Series
Aaaaaactually, removing grain without destroying fine detail is very difficult. And removing blur that was introduced with the original photography isn't much better. That is how I feel about it. Give us the movie as it is, not as someone separated from it by a few decades wishes it was. -
Or the Enterprise-B. I have a soft spot for the Excelsior design, and she deserves to be seen as more than just the ship that killed Kirk.

I don't know if I should be glad to see more Valk Profile, or annoyed they're doing an origins prequel(which is usually an excuse to do something really stupid).

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
JB0 replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It looks like they have an entire decade's worth of asian roles in Hollywood. Either in response to complaints they were whitewashing the major, or because they always intended to, they have managed to avoid whitewashing the cast. And based on the one single still image, Johansson makes a good Major(and as I said before, the Major's one of the few characters you can reasonably justify whitewashing).- 751 replies

Wait, they're making another Batman movie? I'm shocked, given how little money he's brought in over the years. Do they just love throwing money away? Okay, turning down the sarcasm. Who is actually surprised they're doing another Batman movie? I'm surprised they let Dark Knight Rises close out a Batman.

I was going the other direction, and assuming Windemere has unusually high gravity. That allows Ragna to have an apparent Earth-normal gravity, and Freyja's just buff as hell under that poncho and cutesy facade.

Just once, I just want someone to pop up when Freyja's singing and they're metering her fold waves with that circle graph... someone to look at the graph and shout "ANIMA SPIRITIA!", just so I don't have to.

Fair enough, I concede the point. Macross Quarter needed hands and legs so they could claim feature parity with the New Macross series. I believe the expression is "Seven did it"?

Totally agreed. That's funny, because the original Enterprise wasn't really designed for practicality either. It was designed to look good, and to not be a rocketship or flying saucer. Practically speaking, the warp nacelle booms and the saucer neck are glaring weakpoints, and are going to see some wild stresses from constant multi-c accelerations. (I can't even begin to imagine what sort of construction keeps the warp nacelles from ripping free of their toothpick-like moorings every time they turn them on) You want practical and "realistic", you fast-forward a few decades/centuries to Deep Space Nine and get down with the Defiant. It doesn't look graceful, sleek, or particularly "Trek-like", but... it's a solid, practical design with no glaring structural weaknesses.
