  1. I meant does it support the SD adapter they sold for the Firecore-based Genesissies. Most of those didn't have an integral SD slot, but they could read SD cards through a special cartridge(that didn't work in a real Genesis). https://atgames.co/collections/accessories/products/mega-expert-passport This thing.
  2. I've not watched Kantai Collection. It just looked terribly dull from everything I saw. More importantly, it has a distinct lack of a Kirishima prone to melodramatic spectacles and turning into a children's toy. ... Look, all I'm saying is Arpeggio Kirishima is best boat bear.
  3. Honestly, I think her smaller size is largely because of the engineering. There's a lot of parts in there I don't expect to see at this size, like collapsing toes. And half of an entire second torso installed in the saddle area, for ... some reason. What I like about her is she both is and isn't a G1 homage at the same time. She's new and fresh, while still feeling like she came to me from the 80s(aside from the small size and lack of metal). I feel like, by dinobot standards, she IS a feminine design. Slender legs and a narrow waist. She isn't designed like a hulking mass of raw strength, even moreso than Swoop.
  4. Boat Girls and their Admiral! Arpeggio of Blue Steel was waaaaaay better than it had a right to be, and I genuinely love it.
  5. So to add to the recent dinobots... I saw the new member, Slash, for sale today. Aesthetically, she LOOKS like a dinobot in both modes. They did a good job keeping to the GI aesthetic. If you told me she was based on an 80s dinobot, I'd believe you. Her deinonychus* claws hang under her arms in robot mode, but I'm okay with it. They kind of look like tonfas, and that is how I'm selling it in my head. Her dinosaur arms hang off her butt, and this is something I'm less okay with. Her dinosaur mode cleans up rather nicely, though the dinosaur torso is a bit plump, and has a gap where robo-abs don't meet robo-legs. I probably would have slung her robot legs OVER her torso instead of under it, so they looked like a backpack(a la Swoop). But dinosaur mode is already top-heavy, that could easily make it worse. Pretty decent engineering for such a small toy, honestly. Only thing I can directly fault them for is that the dino arms are on 1-axis swivels instead of ball joints. The headmaster saddle, surprisingly, doesn't compromise the dinosaur mode much at all. It exists in the nook her dinosaur head disappears to in robot mode, and consequently has a trapdoor that closes over it when not in use. I'd like to see her rebuilt in a larger toy(though it is highly unlikely to happen). It wouldn't be hard for the dinosaur arms to stash away instead of hanging off her butt, and it would greatly improve her robot mode. Also, a larger toy would allow for the fists and claws to be hidden in their respective modes(or the claws to convert to look more like robot weapons) *Yes, deinonychus. I'm fighting the velociraptor hegemony. One of these is among the most important dinosaurs of the twentieth century, the other is a movie star. And Jurassic Park's raptors were deinonychus in all but name anyways.
  6. Obviously, the PROPER scale is the five-foot-wide super-cassette that comes out of Soundwave's robot chest. I won't settle for a Ravage smaller than a VHS tape! In seriousness, I'm just saying that Soundwave and his children present unique scale issues. Also, the packaging is brilliant!
  7. Man, that would be amazing, though. Especially if we take it literally. They sue over that one Mickey Mouse toy that turns into Optimus Prime. Claim it is a ripoff of their patented veritechnology or some crap. And then DARKNESS FALLS UPON THEIR REALM.
  8. Opted to ignore the issue of facehugger gender entirely, actually. Xenomorph gender is pretty hard to nail down in human terms, across the entire species. They seem largely asexual. My logic is that the facehuggers are the only ones born from a queen, which is the standard way to become a princess, and I don't think princes are exactly lining up to marry xenomorphs. All the rest are born from the plebes (or genetics labs, in that one movie).
  9. Other way around. Robotech novelization predates Phantom Menace. OMG STAR WARS RIPPED OFF ROBOTECH!!!111111
  10. Don't be silly. Only the facehuggers are princesses.
  11. Protoculture Ghost. Legally distinct.
  12. I remember that game. I also remember the truck it wvs based on. And the Power Wheels version of that truck. I was sad when I found out there's still a Bigfoot, but it ain't blue anymore.
  13. I believe the moving picture roster is simply too long to itemize.
  14. Yeah, I don't care for shell-forming much. Car parts should be PART of the robot, not worn over it like Solid Snake wears a cardboard box. Exceptions if there's a really good concept on display other than "wearing the car like a turtle shell" or "hang-gliding from the bottom of a jet".
  15. I'm sort of in a happy middle ground. G1, Cybertron, whatever. As long as it is a cool robot, I'm in. But if it turns into something else, I want it to LOOK like it does. If there's clever engineering to make sure all the car/jet/cassette player parts disappear in robot mode, that is a negative to me, as I consider the alt-mode kibble an essential part of a transforming robot. This DOES mean I tend to look down on the "fake radiator" that a lot of Optimus toys use for the robot abs. I want the truck radiator to be the ab radiator. I tend to turn a blind eye towards it on Powermaster Prime, though it did bug the heck out of me when PM Prime was new and became my first Optimus, and he had an entire second truck front for his small robot mode.
  16. I'm glad it is the Gundam and not an Adjective Gundam. Period-appropriateness, mainly. Obviously, there's no chance in hell of WB sorting out the mess needed to get a VF-1. They probably don't even want to touch that mess.
  17. Spiderhomies.
  18. Book was fantastic, and the author is apparently in charge of the movie script. I have high hopes.
