  1. USMC... well, that explains the Daedalus attack. The marines probably submitted a proposal to punch enemies out of the sky with their pride and joy less than a day after the first transformation.
  2. I'm told that Roadbuster was based on his appearances in IDW at the time. Tatsunoko's still around, somehow. But I don't believe they're any sort of legal obstacle. (Especially since they seem to be owned by Takara now?)
  3. They don't actually need a Dorvack license unless they want to sell them as Dorvack toys. Copyright on toys isn't particularly strong. The molds are copyrighted, so they'd need a license from the owner of the molds to make a reissue of the originals, but beyond that it is mostly a free-for-all. They redid both characters a few years back. I was surprised at the time, just because they're not characters that usually get attention.
  4. After Revenge of the Titans, anyways. There were a lot of characters I was sure would never see another release that made it in during "everybody's a headmaster now". Hasbro gave us HOPE with that line.
  5. I suppose that's fair. It just feels weird, particularly for someone incapable of beginning an interaction without saying "please state the nature of the medical emergency". He also changed his clothes in the episode where he had to play the Emergency Command Hologram.
  6. Using the EMH at this point is awkward regardless just because Robert Picardo has aged and The Doctor shouldn't have.
  7. Yes! I've wanted to see that plot thread picked up at some point. But I kinda don't think I want current Trek writers to do it, so I hope it's the original EMH.
  8. Yeah... that's a lot of money for an Enterprise that's just too big for me. I want it so much, though...
  9. I suspect the divergence might be intentional to make him look more like a "normal" american firetruck, similar to how Skids was usually drawn as a minivan in media despite the toy being kind of the opposite. Two wheels up front and one in the back just looks WRONG, like the bottom of the firetruck is backwards.
  10. I'd get a flash cart and a CD-R spindle personally.
  11. Don't buy repros. No point paying for pirated software.
  12. SegaCD doesn't need any special cables. There's an audio cable if you have a Genesis 1 and want stereo sound, but it is a standard part with a headphone connector at each end.
  13. Heck yeah. I am down for a complete set.
  14. THAT'S why they spent the money to give him blue "pants"! Thanks! I think Hasbro's missed an opportunity here. Laser Optimus in black with gold trim, a G1-style trailer in black with gold trim, a chess piece where the trailer's autobot logo goes... We need the truck too! But I'm down for this.
  15. Yeah, I'm curious what was going on in Tamtax and irem at the time.
  16. Intro cutscene wasn't complete yet. The US version actually came out first, and the stage changes were made after its release. We essentially got a paid beta.
  17. It looks to be based on the ending cutscene, but with a lot of liberty taken(it is pretty low-res in the ending). The bulbous head seems to be an attempt to create a lineage between Tamtex's M-308 and irem's far more famous R-9. It is also colored like the JP version's sprite instead of the US version's.
  18. That's actually one of the things I like. I appreciate it when mecha has some less-anthropomorphic features. Disgruntled fish... I'm gonna imagine him muttering "I coulda been in Darius" for a while.
  19. I would LOVE an M-308 from Metal Storm! I actually bought the Retro-Bit boxset a little while back, and the figurine was part of why. But it was an abysmally poor sculpt, and the box set would've been better for not including it.
  20. The Gunstar, in short?
  21. Wait, that got an anime and no one told me? I love those two dorks.
  22. CD IS a digital format. Which makes it, if nothing else, thematically appropriate for Sharon Apple's music.
  23. Wait, THAT'S where the rights wound up? That's crazy!
  24. V'ger's been connected to the Borg a few different times. Though Cybertron seems a more likely origin.
