Here is a link to the Stealth with Urban Camo GBP http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24908 Post #13

That was my plan too Sqidd. When I started collecting about a month ago I had no idea some Macross stuff was going to be hard to come by. I did just score on a Low Viz 1 for $266.50 brand spanky new and minty fresh. I want to keep it stored and maybe find another to display with the Urban Camo GBP. IMO, I think it would look the best on the Low Viz 1. My next choice would be the Stealth. Venius posted some pics from his website of this combination when I asked about it. You can find it in the "Toys" posts. The Stealth is still available. I've scoured the internet for them and Tisnic has them for cheap...$119.99 + $12.00 for shipping. Toy-Wave has them too...I think. Shipping is a bit more with them, but if you are buying multiple items the shipping balances out. I just got the Urban Camo & and Wood Land Color GBP from them for $59.00 and $45.00 respecitively; $158.00 with shipping. If I can't find another Low Vis priced reasonably, I will probably cop another Stealth for display and cover my Stealth in the Urban Camo.

Good gawd damn! That's just wickedly sick man! Any chance of commissioning any of you guys to do custom work? Very interested. Once again, you've shown your wicked side Ace. Sweet man, sweet!

Very nice collection you have going indeed Envectus. I'm new myself and this hobby is very addictive. I just scored on the Low Vis. 1 & 2 along with the Armor Parts Wood Land color & Urban City Camouflage. Next for the are the M & M Super Valks! -
Damn! I concur...show it to Yamato! Hell write this thing into the storyline somehow! Wicked, I see how you got your name. That thing is nothing short of wicked! That is sick! Get a patent on the paint job man. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would line up to shell out the cash for one if it ever went into production. To put it into perspective, this custom makes the 25th Anniversary Black and Gold look super cheap. Wicked Ace...simply wicked man! How did you pull this off???

You guys know anything about this fighter? I researched it and apparently this fighter never made it to production. I do not know if it was even a part of the Macross storyline. I did find some advertising info that showed the figure to be in possibly 1/72 scale. Compared to the hands in the picture, the toy looked pretty small. Nonetheless, I think it is is a good looking Valk. Here is the link and the picture that is displayed there. http://unspacy.msyte.com/images/swxa1/SW-XA1.jpg

Wow! These are cheap at $59 a piece yet they don't have that "cheap" look to them. Unfortunately we don't have Ikea in Arkansas. Their flat rate shipping for any order under 500 lbs. is $265. The same glass curio displays are on Ebay for roughly $150 shipped. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that price knowing they're only $59 piece if I purchased them in the store. These would have looked great in my office in the darker color. I have some display space, but I think I will let my wife keep her "pretties" in them and go with the glass display so I can see the Valks in all their splendor! It's weird; I can hardly get any work done for gawking at these things all day long. It's just amazing to see a toy with so much detail; so much so you wouldn't know they transformed into different modes if you were not familiar with what you were looking at. Can't wait until Valentine's Day so I can bring them home on Friday! -

Wicked Ace my man! I'm feeling pretty damn good right now by way of some XO brandy and a steady eye on a figure I've been dying to get my hands on! Just won my Low Viz ver. 1 on Ebay for a decent price! Also got the Low Viz ver. 2 for $59.99. Hell, I must admit that I'm buzzing, but I can not wait until I see the boxes at the front door! I had all but counted myself out for the Low Viz Version 1! My Macross "wants" are just about complete or at least close enough to the where I don't feel like I am playing catch up too terribly. I would love Stealth Strike Parts, but to score on the low viz 1??? Oh, it doesn't get much better than that! Hopefully they will re-issue the Stealth Strike Parts; if not, at least I still have a Stealth! Will post pics when they arrive. Mahhh-Cure-Ross!!! -

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
MacrossMan replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Cool! I should have an abundant amount of cash to unleash then. I have deferred some retirement funds into a savings account and I should be receiving a share bonus around that time. Can't wait! By the way, are these 1/60's going to be the same size in scale as the VF-0A and VF-0S or are these really smaller fighters. I personally like the larger scale. -
What about the damn Stealth Super/Strike Parts??? I know the Low Visibility Ver. 1 was a limited piece, but what are your thoughts on a second run of it? Or I guess the better question is what is Yamato's reputation for re-releases?

They are still plentiful. I found mine for $209.00 shipped within the states!

Man oh man I can relate to that! There's an arsenal of spirits behind those cabinet doors in my office. I got liquored up, closed my eyes, and clicked the "Buy It Now!" option for the YF-19 with Fast Packs and Fold Booster. Kinda like taking a shot. Look away, grit your teeth, clinch your fist...then the ever present little sting! After it's all said it done, it aint so bad. Seeing those boxes at the front door makes it all worth while! I'm gonna have to do the same thing for the Low Visibility Vers. 1 -

I've seen some of your grabs man, and please believe I only wish I was where you are with your collection. Some of the guys collection around here I all but faint when I see what they have accumalated. You guys are lucky though because you all got in on the game while prices were reasonable. Here I sit and in the next few days I am about shell out over $300 for a Low Visibiity Version 1 and I still can't find the Stealth Super Strike Parts! Consider yourself lucky that you don't have to play major catch up and spend lots of money on the front end. It would be cool to part with a couple of hundred dollars a month, instead of hundreds each month trying to play catch up. It's very addictive this Macross thing. I've been watching the SDF: Macross english dub and can not believe the difference in it and the U.S. Robotech version. Really eye-opening! The more I get into this the more I want to know about it! -

Man, I work for hospital where the women out number the guys 5 to 1. Women go goo-goo when they receive Valentine's Day gifts at work. They love the attention and even more so seeing some of the jealousy from other women. I see it all every year, so I have some ideas to work with. -

Thanks man! The Misses is a sucker for romance, so I will sweeten her up really nice with a singing quartet at work or something. I'll soften up the blow some how. The cabinet displayed holds some of the figurines that I am going to sell to buy more Valks. Once I locate the pics to my office cabinets I'll post them. -

Thanks Vegas, but I have some major dough to spend before I come anywhere near to what you have collected. 1/60 VF-0S $129.99 Amazon 1/60 VF-0A $135.00 Ebay 1/60 YF-19 $209.00 Ebay 1/VF-1J $119.99 Tisnic The smaller 1/60's, the armor, Robotech MPC all came from Ebay. Pretty decent prices, but if I had known what the 1/60's and 1/48's were like I would have saved my money for other 1/48's. We live and we learn. -

I've been at this not even a month. My wife doesn't know it yet. I have been trying to beat my wife home so she doesn't see I have a delivery each day. I'll be able to take the Valks home after I sweeten her up for Valentine's Day next week. Until then, these babies will reside at work in my office with my favorites out on my desk. Here's what I have collected so far. The other pics are of my Thomas Blackshear and Stacy Bayne figurine collection. Some of these babies are worth a few hundred bucks a piece. I will be auctioning some of them off to finance my new love. New home office furninture already has slots for Valks. Will change out frosted glass in cabinets so that I can see inside. Favorites will go behind glass. -
Man, it looks like you guys have sparked up some stuff I wasn't aware of. No one answered though, whether or not the set, YF-19 with Fold Booster and Fast Packs was an improvement over the first release. I received my Stealth 1/48 today and man is this thing sweet! I have the VF-0A and VF-0S at work on my desk. My office has a wondow and the walls are made of glass. I call it the fish bowl. Anywho, myself and another guy are the only men on my floor and the women just walk staring down at my desk shaking their heads. The funny thing is I don't even give a damn! They stop in my office and ask what is all this? I tell them that I am hiding my toys from my wife until Valentine's Day. Once I sweeten her up with something nice I'll be able to bring my babies home because she'll still be in la-la land when I tell her I have spent over a $1000.00 on, what is in her mind, TOYS! Anywho, am I the only one or do you guys have the urge to pull out your Valks while watching the cartoons? I remember doing that on Christmas morning with my Soundwave in 1984. Now, I want to lie on my bed with my new toys and relive the series again. Even at work I have the strangest urge to pick up way and pretend to fly it around with hand. That is crazy! I am currently watching the Robotech series and have the SDF-1 english version on its way. Man, I have to tell you that these things are amazing! The poses they can hold are unbelieveable! I am still tripping on the fact that all the figures are a part of a show and just not something concocted to make money. I can't wait to pick up some more 1/48's. I AM OFFICIALLY HOOKED! Even found a local guy that's going to make me a magnetic kite for my truck. Don't know what I have gotten myself into, but I am sure time will tell.

I ordered the YF-19 with the fold booster and fast packs. I made sure this time that the item was in stock. I noticed a box sitting at the front door when I got home and barely let the garage door raise before racing in to park so I could get out and get my new toy. It was so funny. I pressed the button to let the garage down then headed towards the garage then realized it was coming down. I then headed to the house entry door from the garage and ran to the front door. I opened the box and all I could say was DAMN!!! It was the VF-0A and this thing is gargantuan in comparison to the DYRL 1/60's! I'm in frickin awe! I mean lifting that tab and seeing it in person for the first was like being a kid on Christmas morning! Is it just me or did you guys get as excited as I did? Just not right for a 33 year man to get that excited over a toy.
-
I have seen where some say that the YF-19 with fold booster and fast packs is a second release. According to what I have read there were some issues that have been resolved with this version. What have been your experiences? Seeing that my third order has been cancelled due to the company being out of stock of the item (1st, Stealth Strike Parts, 2nd 1/48 Stealth with Strike Parts, 3rd 1/60 YF-19) I have a chance to purchase the right item this time around. I foresee the same thing happening with the YF-19 that has happened with the 1/48 Stealth and Low Visibility Version 1. I would like to be amongst those to have one in possession, but I need to justify the extra expense for the booster and fast packs as I really do not care about them either way. If this version is a better toy I will be copping this version. Please let me know. Thanks!

Okay guys. I'm new to this and want to know what everyone's take is on applying the decals to your figures? I personally feel they make them look better, but it's a paint putting them on. Any tips on applying? Also, what does this do for re-sale value?

WickedAce, Thanks for the welcome and the info. The more I read the forums the more I realize how ignorant I am to the whole Macross and Robotech thing. I have to be honest and say that it was Robotech that I watched as a kid. It sparked my interest because it seemed more "real" than Transformers. Although it seemed more real, I still didn't follow the story line because I was only interested in the cool robots and destruction that wasn't depicted in Transformers. I will be sure to cop the SDF Macross set as well. My eyes have been opened to a whole different world. I noticed that when I watched Macross Plus Volumes 1-4 yesterday. In my ignorance, I thought the YF-19 and YF-21 had just been "created". I did not know they were actual fighters from the story. I didn't even realize that the VF's in the originals were different colors and served different purposes. Again, I thought they were just variants that had been created in order for the toy company to make more money. When I first noticed the Yamato toys on E-Bay I thought they were the coolest looking figures! I thought they had a more futuristic look to them when in actuality they look just like the fighters depicted in the cartoons series 20 plus years ago! Basically the toys got better. With today's technological advances, toy companies are able to make true to life figures; yesterday's toys look primitive compared to today's. I will continue to research the forums and become more knowledgeable, but in the meantime you guys will have to excuse my ignorance. I'm seeing the rabbit hole runs quite a bit deeper than what I thought. By the way, I did get the 1:48 Stealth; just not with the strike armor parts. My first and only 1:48 so far.

Feels like I'm blogging here. Just received an email that the Stealth set was no longer avaialable and that it was an error on their website...*sigh*...I give up for now. I just ordered the 1/60 YF-19 and got it for a decent price. If anybody plans on selling any of their 1/48's in anticipation of the new 1/60's please let me know. I am light years behind you guys and would really like to build my collection. I received a 1/60 DYRL Max and 1/60 DYRL TRUS Cannon Fodder today. That's it for the old 1/60's with the exception of some 1/60 BGP armor that should be on its way. Also ordered the complete Robotech collection on DVD and plan to start watching it from beginning to end when it arrives. I couldn't appreciate it for what it was as a kid in 5th grade in 1985. After getting my son a boatload of Transformers for Christmas my interest was sparked for the G1 Transformers and I started searching for Jetfire since he was my favorite. Jetfire led me back to Robotech and ever since I have been on a Macross high! Still looking for stealth strike parts. If anyone has any they're willing to let go please let me know. Thanks!
