  1. Hey cut that out Miriya! Only a Sith could afford prices like that Let's hope for real world prices here...
  2. Has this been the route for all of Yamato's releases or is this just something different? I can't imagine these being in limited supply...
  3. I couldn't agree more. But what do you do? For me, I'm hoping the bidding doesn't go too crazy. Who are the owners by the way?
  4. This sure reminds me of the non-cannon VF-AX1! Would love to see these in production and add them to my collection
  5. It's in my watch list. If the price doesn't get too outrageous, I will place a bid at the right time...too bad there's no buy it now price.
  6. You guys are buck wild! Girly man...that's too funny! Might pick one up for my little sister.
  7. Damnit Vegas! Don't do it! I've seen some of your grabs...you'll probably remind just how far behind I am! Argh!!!!!
  8. Yeah, Amazon had a store front called Toyzz.com that had like 2 or 3 of them for $59.99. I couldn't believe it. The thing was case fresh and mint when I received it. Check Amazon from time to time because they have incredible deals every now and again. I had no plans on getting the Low Viz 2, but for that price I couldn't let it pass me by...especially since I knew there was a chance I might get the Low Viz 1 to go with it. Ken at Toy-Wave has the Camo armor for $45.00. Once that arrives I plan on displaying it in battroid mode with the armor. Low Viz 2 is actually nice variation when you see it in person.
  9. Thanks EXO. Lot's of new stuff coming out so I have to grab up as much as I can right now. When I first joined the site I thought it was a big waste of money to buy three of the same fighters. Now that I have a few on hand I find myself wanting at least 4 of each...3 to display and 1 to piddle around with. That aint gonna happen...not any time soon at least.
  10. I lucked up and won the Low Viz 1 in a last minute auction on EBay for $266.50 so it wasn't too bad. Got the Low Viz 2 for only $59.99 which led me to believe that toy shops were not able to move them. I so wish I had gotten into collecting about 5 years ago. It seems like whenever I think I am just about where I want to be with satisfying my wants, I see something else I want or think I need.
  11. I think I will make him an offer...$2.00US and see what kind of reply I get.
  12. Picked up the Low Viz 1 and Low Viz 2.
  13. Are you saying these things were actually worth something at one point in time???
  14. Hahahahahahahaha!!! My sentiments exactly!!!
  15. Thanks man, and you so don't know how much I would enjoy a Macrossworld housewwarming party! To be able to sit up and chop it up with you guys that know all about this stuff into the wee hours of the morning would be off the hook! I know there are some Japanese members here that we could fire up the tube and sound and give us real world translations as we watch the original Macross series. Sipping brewskies while I'm out back grilling up some tasty meats Southern style! That would be one awesome housewarming party!
  16. By day I work in telecommunications, but I wear a second hat as a mobile DJ on the side. I started a mobile DJ service in November 2004. I volunteer my services for the company I work for a few times a year and the business I receive from it keeps me pretty busy. January and February are my rest periods, but things pick back up in March with kids out for spring break. After spring break, it's wedding season and school is out for summer and people are getting married and partying! Just in time for the new Macross stuff. Anywho, it's a lot work, a lot of fun, and has a good pay off. I've always gone by my name and referred to myself as a professional DJ when people ask for my DJ name. Since joining the site it has dawned upon me what my DJ name should be...DJ Macross. I'm gonna sport shirts with the Macross kite on them to parties from now on and keep it dressy and professional for my corporate upscale events. Anywho here are pics of my DJ toys (equipment) when I first started. I remember thinking it would be so cool to have all my equipment in one case. WRONG! I came close to blowing my back out a few times before I invested in a good portable dolly and putting everything in seperate road cases. More set up time, but it sure makes getting loaded and set up a lot easier. There's also a pic of me at a gig and my son doing his best scratch immitation.
  17. Thanks a lot guys. It's been a work in progress, but thing have finally come together. If I didn't have to compromise, I would have my collection displayed in the den which is off the kitchen, but the misses aint going for that . Heck it's really my personal space to relax and listen to music and watch a movie from time to time, but the collection will end up in my office. I originally wanted to put them in the book cases of my office, but after looking through the collections in this post I decided against it. There's a huge recessed cove in the hallway outside the office that would hold at least 4 Detolf shelves that would look killer, but again, the misses aint going for it. She has a shrine of our wedding pics and what not throughout the hall. Anywho, I'm posting pics of the cabinets I wanted to display them in in the den and pics of the office. Also a couple of pics of some custom framed art work. It displays what the space is intended for: music, movies, and relaxing. I still have plenty of space in the office so I just need to get my hand on some nice inexpensive glass display cases. I am currently looking for Macross art to frame to go in the office. The office is truly my space and it will be dedicated for my Macross stuff.
  18. It all boils down to where we're at and what we have going on. My wife I closed on a new house December 06. With a bigger mortgage and other expenses there isn't much left to "play" with. But to be able to cover those expenses at the end of the day and still be able to toss around dough on toys the way Sith does would be insane! I can't complain though...I still get to buy a toy here and there. Not exactly a toy, but as proud of it as I am of my small growing collection...our house as it was being built and some pics as we got certain rooms together after getting settled in.
  19. Break out the bologna and bread...unless of course you're SithLord! I'm still in shock at the thought of the amount of dough this guy has invested in his collection.
  20. My sentiments exactly!
  21. Holy Toledo Yamato! Here I am playing catch up and a new wave of goodies are coming. Hopefully Valkyrie Exchange will get their hands on some of these and save us on shipping!
  22. Yep. The shelves are only $59 a piece, plus $265 for shipping (freight) to my location because they weigh in at 89 lbs. each with all the glass. I've found the Detolfs on ebay for about $150 shipped, but I have more catching up to do on my collection before I decide to display it. I have emailed the seller of the shelves on ebay several times for shipping quotes on more than one of the shelves, but havent' gotten a response.
  23. Two questions for Sithlord...What do you do and how do you do it? That's a quote from The Pursuit of Happyness, but I mean it literally. I want to be in the position to buy the kind of toys you buy and not think twice about it without being some bumb living in his parent's basement. I see pics that leads me to believe you're some sort of a draftsman or engineer. My telecommunications manager salary just aint cuttin' it if you will. Sheesh! Soon, very soon! Awesome collection man, and I aint mad at ya!
  24. Love the pics, but damn sure love the shelf even better! I've got to start searching for something as the shelves I anticipated using won't do the Valks any good. Too dark. I need some all glass like the Detolf, but unfortunately we do not have an Ikea where I am at. SUCKS big time!
