Do keep an eye out for more cool stuff. I might even consider seriously consider a 1/48 Hikaru weathered VF-1S if the price is right. Check you PM.

Ooohhh! You're just being mean now Dash! Cool items you picked up there man! If only we had that kind of access in the states.
-
Especially when you're looking in the cock-piece! That think looks like a duck for real!

As cool as the helmet is, for me, fortunately it doesn't make my heart skip a beat and give me that "oh I gotta have it feeling" as some of the other stuff about to be released has given me. With the large scale SDF-1's price possibly being in the stratosphere and other upcoming Valks I want, the helmet is more or less "meh". If the price was maybe $250 I'd consider it, but I will probably pass on this one.
-
Hey Dash if you find another and plan on selling it for the right price I'm calling first dibs on it! Kicker hasn't "officially" said he wants it, but has shown "sincere interest".

Aint that the truth!

Any tips or suggestions? If I have never done this before how challenging will it be? Your weathering skills are on point by the way! I would seriously consider purchasing a Valk to do some practice on if it is not too difficult. Thanks for sharing the pics and any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Say bro, and I am not even blowing smoke up your arse, but that last pic could almost be CGI if it weren't for the VF decal on the left leg. The weathering skills are sick man! Awesome damn job man. If the market was strong enough, you could easily go into business today weathering Valks. I know I would have a few lined up for you. -
My sentiments exacty. I think Frontier came into play a little while after I got into the hobby. I watched the first couple of episodes on Youtube, but never really got into it because I was still learning about Macross and playing catch up on my collecting. This photo definitely has sparked my interest in the Macross Frontier toys. Nice pic!

Thanks for the explaination. The pictures look fine to me and does show details. At first glance of the pics I thought to myself that the 1D looked like someone had written all over it with a pencil then tried to erase it; but damn does it look good! I mean it is perfect weathering in my opinion. It's not overly done and appears natural; or how a fighter might look with some aging. I'm not brave enough just yet to try this on one of my Valks, but it sure does inspire me to try my hand at a model. As substantiated by the replies to the pics, I'll add my two cents and say GREAT WORK!!! -

That 1D is bad ass! Looks like it has seen more battles than training! I don't mean this in a bad way, but what was your process because it does't look as it was "involved" as some of the other weathering that looks like it has been done by a someone with years of experience and an expensive hobby paint gun. Again, I don't mean that in a bad way. To me it looks as good, if not better than the others, but the weathering process on your 1D appears to be simple in nature. I could be totally wrong. I guess I am just hoping it is so that I might be able to do something like this to one of my Valks. -
Art indeed! Seriously Vegas, if you have that photo in a file sizeable enough to enlarge I would love to have it man. I will shoot this directly over to Michael's for a custom frame. Please let me know bro!

GOTTA LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Might be a Metro Valk... Valk in a headscarf...ha! Deculture! Other than seeing this for the first time on the forums in battroid I never noticed my v1's box art to see its battroid mode. I didn't even think to look. I'll have to take a look when I get home. Although you bring about a good idea with incorporating the v1 into the mix of different display modes with the new one. I take it you like the fighter mode of the v1 over the v2?
-
Probably the best stated post in this thread IMHO.
-
Anyone plan on displaying this in battroid mode??? Although I think it's very cool looking, I can't see myself displaying it in a mode that I am not accustomed to seeing. I just might cop two of these; one for gerwalk and the other for fighter mode. This one is really nice. I just do not recall ever seeing this one in battroid in the movie...

I have a couple sets still sealed in shrink wrap I received from HLJ late last year. Might consider parting with a set. PM me if you're interested.

chances of broken/disintegrated shoulder on the 1/60 VF-0A
MacrossMan replied to NSJ23's topic in Toys
Both my single VF-0A and VF-0S have been fine. Although they are both very loose I have had no issues with broken shoulders. It is my understanding that this problem was fixed with the release of the Valks that come with the Ghost. I have a Shin with Ghost, but I have never changed its configuration from fighter mode, but my gut tells me it is probably okay. -
From what I have been reading about what others have been saying about their 1/48 collection is that it is the sheer size of the 1/48. They have a certain presence that the new 1/60's, regardless of how nice the sculpt is with all its fixes, just can't compare to.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I was actually talking with a co-worker yesterday about how much I liked the bright white paint scheme. I have a set of Yamato waterslide decals I had planned on using for the TV Max, but I like the clean look of the bright white and plan on keeping it as is. I'll use the decals on something else. Besides that I haven't noticed many markings on the TV Max other than what I have seen on a Kurt custom. Not much even in the line art. -
Can you at least try to show your poker face???

Cry me a river when you're paying $27.68 USD a gallon or about 4 times that what you're used to paying. That's what it felt like stateside back this summer when gas prices were over $4 a gallon. I can't tell you how much of my toy money went into the gas tank then! And it's looking like it might be starting all over again.
-
$1.88 yesterday afternoon...$1.91 when I left for work this morning. Ridiculous!

I believe this is what I currently have. Once you get past about 10 or 15 Valks it's kind of hard to keep up with them. I can't imagine how some of you guys even manage your collections.
