  1. I'm not sure what the median age of the members here is; I'm 34 soon to be 35. I "played" with toys as a kid. As an adult, I'd be somewhat embarrassed to be swooshing a toy around or "pretending" to act out battles with my toys as I did as a kid. I just don’t have the desire and really don't have time for that kind of thing. I consider myself a collector. I can not justify spending $100+ for something as frivolous as a “toy” to “play” with. I cringe each time my son earns a Transformer and rips the box open. I want to say something, but I don’t want to take away from his excitement as a kid when the “collector” in me is thinking 20 years from now you’re gonna wish you hadn’t done that. He’s a kid and should be able to enjoy his toys as a kid should, just as I did. That being said, I’m an adult now and I don’t have a boatload of cash. If I spend money on a toy, it better damn well have some sort value other than playability. My collector toys are displayed in a case in my office. When friends or family come by and they see them, I go into my spill about how crude the toys were back in the mid 80’s in comparison to these collector items. They take a closer look and soon realize they’re not looking at toys, but something far more advanced. I have to ask this though for those who say they trash their boxes and play with their Yamato Valks: When you’re finished playing with your “toys” do you just toss them in a toy box without fear of them being broken or do you put them away with great care? Come on guys, are these toys? Yes! Are they meant to be played with? I don’t think so. They’re collector grade toys in my opinion and not meant to be displayed and not played with, but whatever floats your boat.
  2. I can't believe Yamato ran through these so quick! When the 1/48's first came out were they fired off as quickly? I mean, if you don't have a boatload of dispensible cash, it is hard to keep up with everything came out so quickly.
  3. Congrats ruskiiVFaussie! Hopefully you'll be blessed with a healthy little boy!
  4. This my friend is a work of art! Makes me want to get a second VF-1D to display in multiple modes. No way I can do that now with the Elintseeker coming down the pipe. Your pic taking skills are taking off man. You'll have to share some tips or maybe write a book: Photography for Dummies...if it hasn't already been written.
  5. It's official. My v.1 VF1D, VT-1, and Elintseeker will be up for sale shortly!
  6. Any idea on which pilots will be included with this?
  7. Dash! You da man, man!!! I think this will be my first Yamato toy that I will be buying two of!!! Can't wait, can't wait!!!! Weewwwwwwwww!!!!! edit - I will be buying three of these. One for each mode. This thing is just gorgeous!!! Damn I can't wait!
  8. Ha! Believe it or not that's exactly what it looks like next to the 1/48. Like an action figure of some sort.
  9. These are pics of my new 1/60 v2 VF-1D courtesty of Valk009. Do business with this guy! He's on point! Anywho, this is my visual of how the VF-0 was decommissioned and retired as the VF-1 came into play. Keep in mind the ground crew is out of scale, the characters are not cannon, and the guy passed out on the catwalk has suffered a heart attack from the beauty of the the new VF-1; hey who says it's no fun to imagine? As much as I love the new 1/60's (this new VF-1D is probably my favorite so far), the last two pics show why I will always remain a 1/48 (larger scale) junkie. The pics don't do the comparison much justice, but seeing it in person, you can only shake your head at Yamato for not doing this in 1/48 scale. What a shame...
  10. Here's my thought on how the transition from the VF-0 to the VF-1 went. Keep in mind these pictures are totally out of scale, the characters are not non-cannon, and is only my rendition of how the VF-0 was retired as the VF-1 came into play. You'll have to forgive the guy on the catwalk in the first pic. He suffered a heart attack and went unconscienous at first site of the new VF-1.
  11. Wow! That's pretty damn cool. If he's that good with handling them at 3, you'll be doubling your Yamato budget by the time he's 5.
  12. eugmon! Are you smoking the ganjah mon??? No way in the world would I let a 3 year old handle the mighty 1/60 YF-21! Surely you posted this pic for shock value. He really doesn't handle your Valks does he? My son is 7 years old and I AM still on the fence with letting him handle my Valks. Other than the 1/60 v2's, all others he can only LOOK AT.
  13. Couldn't have said it better! There's no way I would pay for a static figure. I like to display my stuff and change the configuration from time to time. My wife thinks I'm crazy how I can sit in my office and just gawk my Valks. I'm still as amazed today by them as I was when I was first introduced them in January 2008!
  14. Cool, cool pics of your son miriya. Thanks for sharing. He's looks inquisitive and elated to be playing with those Valks!
