  1. Finally got my VF-11B removed and posed. Will display it with the YF-19. Transformation??? So easy a cave man could do it. Seriously! It's less than 10 steps I bet. Feelin' froggy? I promise ya Guld! You jump yo happy ass over here if you want, but cha' limpin' back homeboy!
  2. You're telling me! Check this post.
  3. Not trying to step on KiriK's thread because he has an awesome idea with those who have the Detolfs, but those who don't have an Ikea locally then the glass is another cheap alternative. As indicated by Roy's post this is the same stuff that retailers use so its quality is going be commercial grade. It's basically the same stuff that you see in the retail stores with shirts and jeans folded in them. Heavy duty stuff; just surprisingly cheap.

  5. The glass and hardware can be purchased at any local glass shop or wholesaler. Way cheap! Mine cost a bit more because I purchased it online and shipping added about $75 to the price because it's heavy tempered glass. A 10 piece box weighs about 30-35lbs. Besides that you take a chance with shipping because it can break. Check your local glass store and they should be able to hook you up. But look at combining 12" with 24" or 14" with 28" panels for displaying horizontally to get the same effect as KiriK's detolf method.
  6. You're right KiriK, but if I am not mistaken I believe you can purchase larger panels. In my case I would need 28" panels to have more fighter mode space. I use the 14" panels which give you a bit more real estate per cube.
  7. Awesome solution for you guys with Detolfs. If you don't have access to an Ikea store here's another cheap solution good for displaying Valks. PM me for details.
  8. Sounds like a daunting task! Would a watch motor have enough power to turn the dish though? That slow movement sounds killer. I can only imagine what it would look like. Don't think I have the cahonies to do it though.
  9. Yes, he's probably happy and I am too. The glass is cheap! The display itself has gone through a couple configuration changes to accommodate my collection. I've actually had to migrate some of it to my office at work make room for new stuff. Still have to find a way to get my GBP-1S Armored Valks in there some where. It's a work in progress. My son might have to give up his cube full of junk. We'll see!
  10. Thanks. That case is the poor man's version of the Ikea Detolf. Have to air blast and dust every other week, but it's not too bad. Since there's no Ikea in my area one Detolf would cost close to $400-$500 with freight shipping. There was no way I could fathom paying that for a $70 display. The glass and hardware is fairly cheap and the base is actually a flat panel TV stand. By the way the glass panels are 14" squares to give you a bit more real estate than the Detolfs.
  11. My latest pic after re-arranging my collection over the weekend.
  12. Surely nothing to compare to the quality of recent pics posted, but I thought I would share them anyway. Re-arranged my display this weekend. Ended up taking a few Valks to work to display in my office to make room; as well as retiring a couple others to take care of another project. Still need to get the VF-11B posed and displayed. Better pics to come soon I hope.
  13. Not sure if this has been posted. If not these are really cool costumes of Max and Miriya
  14. Most definitely a custom. Certainly not me though as I am no where near mechanically inclined to create something like that. Would sure be interested in purchasing one if it was made though. Any takers???
  15. Wouldn't it be cool if Yamato included some sort of hidden mechanism to make the radar dish turn? Maybe I'm just being greedy...
  16. Not sure how to go about doing it, but another member has already done it and posted the pics in an earlier post here.
  17. Ouch! Frank & Sons would be cool. A co-worker and I talked about visiting there after last year's con. You guys are really lucky to have that kind of access to the place. Yeah, I feel ya miriya. I remember seeing all the cool stuff that was for sale at last year's con. If it's the campus' policy then I think a trip to Frank & Sons would suffice. Probably would be too much of a hassle to set something up off campus though, but I have to admit it would be cool to have shop set up at the con.
