  1. I believe a Max-Blue and a CF-Green is in the pipeline.
  2. I have been supporting this 0080 HGUC line.. I got 1 Hygog, 1 Zugock-E and 2 Cold GMs.. I intend to get more, especially Guncannons and Rick Dom IIs. These designs were about the best in the Gundam line, a pity the story was not so popular, although I personally felt it was one of the best.
  3. I'm seriously getting very irritated by this. First, from a research point of view, you must provide exact articles. Not links to sites which forces people to blindly search for articles. Also, you must consider the validity of the source http://www.globalsecurity.org/index.html is okay; it's a well-known and reputable source and can be easily accessed. Your findings can be easily verified. http://www.janes.com/ is not so good. It is a well-known and reputable source but it is not accessable. Hence we cannot verify your findings. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&...iation.military is not okay; there is no proof that any of the people posting there are any better than we are. A online forum/ mailing list is rarely if ever acceptable as a research source. Moving on. You also must always correlate your findings. From a search for F14 and F15 at http://www.globalsecurity.org/index.html, which you provided, produces this article: These are presumably British pounds; translated, it becomes the following: F14: 157.2 million USD F15: 37.9 million USD F16: 21.7 million USD It must also be noted that this writer is credited as a "Foreign Editor", possibly at "The Mirror". The background of this person is unknown to me. However, a search on other sites produces some interesting figures. At Aerospace.Org, the following figures are obtained. F14: 38 million USD F-15A/B: 30.1 million USD F-15C/D: 34.3 million USD F16: 20 million USD Better yet, this site cites good sources per plane. In addition, at Federation of American Scientists, the following costs are listed: F14: 38 million USD F15: 43 million USD F-16C/D: 26.9 million USD [final order] This site ALSO has good sources per plane. My point? Online sources are ALWAYS suspect. Even sites that cite other sources can end up with varying results. Note that one of my citation has the F15 being more expensive that the F14, contradicting the other -- so which to trust? Give me an exact article, not hearsay; I have this article with this quote: Note that again this has cited some good sources at the bottom of the page. Much much less than your claims of 100:0. And it has stated the conditions it operated under -- Persian Gulf, combat, '91. For all I know your 100:0 ratio is at some air range against targets! Back your claims up with reputable sources!
  4. 1: IIRC, a Cyclops? 2. Gee, there was a mention, but I can't recall it offhand either. Horse is good enough I guess...
  5. #1: can't remember #2: Griffons. In Steiner Blue. #3: General Morgan Haesk (could be Haesk-Davion, can't remember if he dropped the Davion suffix) and the General of the Eridani Light Horse.. can't remember her name offhand. #4: Arthur Luvon. Spelling might be a bit off. #5: IIRC, Quentin also produces Atlases. Wasn't it Independence or was it GM?
  6. If you are into background, sure. They also hold new weapon stats and technical readouts for a couple of new 'Mechs each. I'll suggest you pick up the sourcebook for your favourite faction and see whether it suits your tastes. They're all written somewhat similarly, only the exact contents differ.
  7. In my view, whether you buy a 1/60 or a 1/48 1S is irrelevant since you have the funds to go for either. Pricing isn't an issue and you already know of the features for each. The big question that you should ask is this: Do you want to expand on your collection? Consider the future funding, display areas available, and the availability of other Macross mecha in the line you choose. If you intend to only get one or two Macross toy, then 1/48 is the way to go -- you should get the best quality for your money. However, if you are interested in getting more than a few Macross toys, the 1/60 line may be better overall. 1/48 has so far been limited to the basic VF-1 chassis; specialized units such as the 1D, Super Ostrich and Elintseeker are not announced for 1/48 and IMO unlikely to be so. The 1/60 line has the selection there for you already, if you intend to expand. 1/48 is a great toy but it eats up display space. If you have limited space to display you may end up getting a few only. The 1/60 has an advantage there, in that you can display more per square foot. If you are interested in getting Destroids and enemy Mecha, then 1/60 is at this time the only line that is likely to come out with any; at 1/48, Zentran and Meltran gets a bit unwieldy. Again, the 1/60 scale has an advantage here. It may seem that I am biased for the 1/60 scale, and I am; I currently own 3 Valks, and I intend to get at least 1 GBP and 1 Tomahawk if not more, when and if they appear. Display space is a major concern for me because I have limited space. Affordability and pricing are also factors which prompts me to favor 1/60 over 1/48.
  8. In the context of Rurouni Kenshin, the Sakabatou is there for a reason, which will be covered in a later volume.. suffice to say, it's not exactly Kenshin's choice to carry it.
  9. It IS the capital of the Draconis March, which USED to belong to Kurita back in the day (not sure at which point it was taken by the Federated Suns)... being close to the core worlds like it is, I thought that might be a possibility. Al-Na'ir is another possibility. Dieron and Altair are the closest DC worlds to Terra, they may have originated from there also. It's actually hard to say where the Draconis Combine originated, because there was not really a time when someone said "This is where the Draconis Combine began!" What we do know is that Shiro Kurita, founder of the Draconis Combine, was born in 2270 at Yamashiro on New Samarkand. Once Shiro Kurita consolidated power in 2296, he went on to strike an alliance with Galedon, which then expanded by force into an area encompassing 30 worlds by 2310. By 2348, this will increase to more than 60 major worlds and the Draconis Combine (as referred to in the House Kurita sourcebook) was cited as the second most powerful realm, after the Terran Hegemony. In that sense, New Samarkand is the founding place of the Draconis Combine. It remained the capital of the realm until 2617, when Sanethia Kurita announced the intention to move the capital from New Samarkand to Luthien. The transfer took place somewhere after 2622 (exact dates are not available), where it remains to date.
  10. #1: probably some location in England? #2: Not sure. #3: I can probably find from the sourcebooks and tech readouts, but I don't have the information on hand right now. #4: Daishi. IIRC, he died in one. #5: IIRC, New Samarakand.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, there is a passing reference to a PXH LAM in Wolves on the Border, just after Tetsuhara-sensei first met the Dragoon command. IIRC, they were saying that Blake was up in his PXH LAM and Tetsuhara-sensei is impressed that they had the technical knowledge to maintain a LAM.
  12. Nice tries on the Gray Death Legion, but actually the story was fairly realistic on the effects of battle casualties on regimental integrity; ditto for the Dragoons. I think saying 3 books threw a lot of people off. The regiment I had in mind was actually Camacho's Caballeros from the Close Quarters-Heart of Chaos-Black Dragon "trilogy". The way Victor Milan was killing off characters in those novels... bleh, stretching the bounds of realities a wee bit. As for Qn 5., I think Selya originated from Russian...?
  13. Adding to this quiz, perhaps a little pet peeve question: In all the pre-MechWarrior novels, which regiment should not be able to exist due to combat casualties (with zero mention of recruitment) but somehow managed to last not one but three books?
  14. I believe it was SPO, or Skull-1 nowadays.
  15. Agreed here. Translation programs tend to be good at grammer and vocab (spelling) but lousy in context. Since Japanese has a lot of similar (or even same) sounding words, a translation program can create a lot of hilarious effects... unintentionally.
  16. I guess a Robotech Master Top hat is almost certainly a Robotech Master. The robed ones are Tirollians, I think. dunno. Nova Satori to the left? Nova Satori on the left, Marie Crystal on the right. I guess either Janice the android or Musica (Sentinels or ASC, respectively. And there's a 3rd kittie on her head) Don't recognize her either. dunno. Zor Prime dunno. Not too sure, possibly the original Marlene Rush Umm, Zor Prime? Corg, Invid prince.
  17. O_o Positive thinking from Dri? Must buy 4D AND Toto already. Darn -- one day too late. Definitely should see if the final production goods are (a ) applicable to your Valks and (b ) of sufficient quality to be worth the money. Probably floppier. I don't expect to play with it much 'cept for upright poses.
  18. AFAIK, not on the 1/60. Speculation is that the 1/48 version will be, since it's larger and can support this better.
  19. We do need a reference. We only have a few pics and practically no information on compatibility. It's not possible to state anything without a proper reference. As for whether the GBP needs FP-compatible valks, here's one thing that's not an issue: From this thread Of course we do not know whether the legs need the holes or not, and this might have been just a prototype. Nothing is known for sure now. VE, VT and 1D had a different cockpit but it's not outside the realm of engineering to make it possible -- just a little more expensive (at most swapping of parts to accomodate). EDIT: As for the CF, it had the leg holes (though one side need widening -- not a big issue) and the arms slots, and is only lacking the FP backpack. If the picture above represent the actual GBP armour, then the probability that the CF can use the GBP is very good.
  20. The probability of this is good.
  21. Because this is the first semi-official confirmation that the 1D, Ostrich and Elintseeker won't be able to take the GBP. All previous talk has been speculation and photo-interpretation. It's also a very good indicator that the GBP Pectoral armour will be held in place via the cockpit connectors, which means we have to be careful to prevent the connecting piece breaking.
  22. Please quote the reference you got this information from. (Sorry, in a rush but am interested to know where you got the news from.)
  23. *Jaw drops* ERm.. You still call that thing an aircraft? I guess sometimes miracles do happen..
  24. Definitely not a T-34 -- it doesn't even remotely looks like one. Possibly an early WWII type if it's Soviet, or as pointed out a Japanese tanks. I lean more towards an early Soviet tank because Japanese tanks in WWII tends to be rather small, unlike the screenshots. Also, the driver arrangement and hull MG reminds me strongly of a Soviet Tank. Possibly a T24, or a T37A. Both seems to be a bit small for the tank in question though.
