Egads, the intakes, they look quite off. Too small, I guess.. hope they adjust. As for the connector, have to sort of keep in mind that it has to work with the legioss' weight. The catch is ugly I agree, but I rather it be strong but ugly, than for the legioss to come crashing down off the Tread in Fighter. That would be quite bad.. One thing I noticed about the Tread, seems like the legs are very rounded. Looks a bit weird.

True. Ah well, let's just kick back and relax and wait for the G-man to post pics. And watch HLJ like a hawk for preorders.
-
I do, because if our friends at HG throws another C&D at CM, I'm going to get very annoyed.
-
Which leads to a question: what's with the licensing? EDIT: Which of course, Promie beat me to the question by mere seconds..
-
CM does have a good rep where its toys are concerned right? I don't hear much complaints about it, but granted, I don't frequent the toys forum.. MW is a wee bit off the beaten track sometimes. Generally, the CM Legioss/ Tread looks more.. together. It's like a sculpture of a human, everything is connected and affects each other.

The Legioss is pretty interesting in itself. The shoulder sensor appears to be *gasp* storable in fighter! The dimensions look correct for it to be stored in the spine in fighter, but it also looks molded to the panel (unlike the Alpha, which is detachable but also free to rotate). Oddly, the top of the torso near the intakes look to be lifted/ popped up. Intentional? I'm not sure I like the look. Chest is already flater than Toynami's, so ground clearance in fighter should be better. There also looks to be waist articulation there, rather than a telescopic waist. The nose looks considerably longer than the Alpha; perhaps a sleeker profile in Fighter than we might expect? Looks to be a split-wing design again.. nothing much to be done there, I suppose. The tailfin cutting a groove into the arm thrusters is a compromise I don't quite like but can live with. And it looks like all the missile hatches open. Is this a considerable improvement over the Toynami Alpha? In terms of looks, the CM version actually looks more organic, but better detailed. Some areas are less appealing, but on sheer looks alone, I think it's just a different interpretation on the Legioss design. I'll say CM has a slight edge just because of proportions -- everything looks about right ('cept maybe the head). Toynami is a fairly ok sculpt with a big head and big feet, but does look a bit stiff in poses. Where this would be decided is in the articulation and durability. I think the CM already has a good head start, with waist articulation and what looks to be better elbow articulation. In terms of durability, it's a toss-up. Can't tell without handling a real article.

The blog put it as all three types, summer of '07. Start saving folks. At this point, I'll like to point out to Toynami. See that wing root area? where there's a curve? We might call the Tread a "Flying Brick" in fondness, but there are CURVES on the darn thing. Wake up already, I don't want a literal brick with rockets. I just brought my MPC Alpha from the display to play with. I was fairly dissatisfied with the head sculpt and the arms, but I didn't dare to take it apart to do mods. Now that this is coming out, I intend to -- after the CM version is safely in my place.

That's really not saying much. Gasaphon can blow Toynami out of the water.

If the price is reasonable, I'll pay.

Remastered Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada DVDs

Thanks guys, got a reply from Rightstuf. Looks like it's a go! I'll need to rework my budget this month again, I guess. -
That silver bar? That's for a lanyard on the actual gun I think. The normal Meggy stock attachment point is on the back of the grip, near the bottom -- there's a slide-in point for the stock on the "normal" Megatrons, which appears to be missing here. MP Meggy looks too big to be handled in gun mode, and the bot mode, well, looks like a skinny fashion model. I'm actually wondering how well the right arm would hold up over time with the weight of the scope on it.

Yeah, but now it looks like UPS is getting cold feet on the A380, having switched to 27 Boeings on 5 Feb. If UPS goes, that means Airbus has no customers for the cargo version. Coupled with various reports on "restructuring" and "layoffs" and "national interests", it seems that Airbus is headed into some turblence in the near future.. at least. Sorry, Max-weight rejected takeoff = ??
-
DH, odd but you hadn't mentioned a thing about Airbus' current financial squeeze? Various news agencies are putting up stories that aren't very pretty about them at the moment.

I'd agree. I hate to think about the maintenance of those things -- are we going to have to put in a 2.5m pound facility wherever the Typhoon is based? That might get a tad bit silly..

Which reminds me -- would you believe that even though I bought Gasaraki VCDs soon after its run in Japan, I've never actually finish watching it? Sheesh. -

Worth a risk. FedEx's hideous for my area though, but could be my guesstimates into their calculators are off. Good to relive the childhood again. -

Remastered Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada DVDs
Lynx7725 replied to Lynx7725's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ok, next question. Azrael helped by pointing out alternative locations to purchase Mospeada and Southern Cross. How about Animeigo's remastered Macross? DVDPacific doesn't seem to have it or I'd have pounced on it. I could order from HG, but long association here makes me want to scrub my laptop from top to bottom just going there.. EDIT: Before you guys suggest eBay, already checked; no joy. Closest there was a non-International shipper, who's already gotten close enough to HG prices to break even. -
Remastered Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada DVDs
Lynx7725 replied to Lynx7725's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks folks.. the prices are off the Robotech.com stores, and yes, apparently the Remastered Macross is the Animeigo set. Think I might as well pick that up. The Mospeada and Southern Cross looks to be ADV; I can find Mospeada somewhat cheaper on eBay, but as usual, Southern Cross gets no love in the DVD department on eBay. jenius: Can't really blame ADV for the Tlead/ Tread thing -- romanization can be a pain.. EDIT: Azrael posted while I'm looking. Thanks for the tip, I'll wander over.. probably not this month, maybe next. Budget's a pain. -
Ok, I took a quick scan of the Movies side of the forums, and the Reviews side too, and since I lurk in A/SF most of the time, I don't really seem to recall a collected discussion of this. I've gotten nostagic and wanted to get a set of Mospeada DVDs. This of course lead me to eBay, then inevitably over to Harmony Gold (don't kill me!). At which point I realised: The remastered Macross 9 DVDs is at $39.99 The remastered Southern Cross ?? DVDs is at $79.99 The remastered Mospeada 4 or 5 DVDs is at $79.99 Ok, so at this point, a few questions. Hopefully you guys can supply some answers. First, am I seeing things? I'm actually getting the Macross remasters at cheaper rates than a comparatively smaller set...? Southern Cross never gets any love, so I can understand the pricing, but...? Second, how's the quality like on these? I'm seriously keen to pick these up, but only if the quality is worthwhile. I'm not talking about the quality of the animation -- c'mon, it's been nearly 30 years already -- but the production and presentation values of the DVDs themselves. I know the general sentiments on the boards towards HG and all; I'm really not trying to stir things up, I'm really just looking for an objective review of these for purchasing decision. If anyone got alternatives, I'm willing to listen.

Personally, I think RT Megs' timing sucks. With the MP Meg coming out -- with or without the orange (butt)plug, I would prefer to get the MP over the RT. Hmm, I think my RT Zero is overdue...

Shrug.. That's why I say, when I play with my Alpha, I worry. :/
