I find sources that say hired. But okay, there's a bit more ambiguity so I will update my previous post accordingly.

Who are "they"? Every news article I could find of the matter was clear on that he had only expressed interest. Here on the other hand, the news articles on the matter have consistently said that Mathieu and Wan was either hired or in talks with the studios. Where are these credible sources that disprove this? If you are going to make big claims that everything has always been fake, please provide proof.

From what I've read, Sylvain White was never hired to direct. He only said he was interested, which is not the same thing. Yes, he wanted to produce the film with his own production company.

Well, there has also been a lot of discussion on writers and producers.

Just two before this. Nic Mathieu and James Wan.

It's not like this is the most novel or creative idea ever, so this can hardly be seen as a rip-off of the AC:AH DLC.

All these would be definite buys for me and the rest of your list would at least tempt me. Arcadia, come on already!

Good question. That prototype really is hideous. Thankfully, they've said that both the sculpt and color choices will be revised for the final release. I hope it will at least be decent in the end.

I think that .gif has never been more appropriate than here.

It seems to be a good toy, but I much rather have a TV SDF-1. I skipped on the Yamato one since I could never afford it back then, even during sales. But now I'm tempted...

That's some serious dedication. Kudos!

This and the huge gaps everywhere and visible tabs were what made the VF-19 ADVANCE one of the biggest dissapointments in my collection. Probably the same reasons for why some call call the Sv-262 "Drakken" or "Draaken", or why the Lilldraken is called Lil'Draken. Ignorance, laziness or in some cases dyslexia, I would say.

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Unfortunately for my wallet, I recently discovered Yahoo Auctions Japan and Buyee. The first shipment came in today. -
It's too bad you Americans have such a hard time finding a Switch. In Europe, it's been pretty easy (unless you really want just the package with grey Joy-Cons, which have been out of stock in periods). Poor planning from Nintendo.

No worry, I was unclear. But you're right in that the difference is not that great between shops if you compare item price + shipping.
-
I'm talking about import taxes, which is >25% of item price + shipping cost for me.
-
I was stuck in a meeting at work when the preorder at NY started... Just my luck. I got one at HLJ, but that will be 25% more expensive in the end.
-
It's now several weeks since they should have put up the latest batch of Variable Action Hi-SPEC toys for preorder, but they haven't. So in the worst case, they are extremely slow. Hopefully, the VF-2SS will be listed sooner.
-
It seems to still be the same prototype. They have already said that there will be changes in the sculpt and color.

Do you mean that the toy would be patterned with a pineapple salad print or that the toy would come with a pineapple salad?

Just what I was thinking. What else could be special about a version from that episode? But I guess it's just special weathering.

Star Fox 2 makes it a must buy for me.

tekering, I don't think the Xabungle and Dougram HMRs aren't the same scale as the Macross HMRs, so there should be nothing strange in adjusting the sizes for MOSPEADA.

But if you just twist the waist a little (which you probably need to do if you want to get a good pose), there's a large rectangular opening showing a lot of metal. Raise the arm for a club swinging pose and you'll see the metal in the armpit. Display the Spartan with the guncluster opened on a shelf above eye level (which I intended to do), you'll see the screw. So it's not very well hidden at all. The metal parts wouldn't need to be painted. A metal with a darker shade like the one used in the ankle joints of the DX VF-25 or the joints of the Regult and Monster would be way more discreet. Yeah, sure, but that would also utterly ruin the resale value and I could accidentally stain the plastic, which would be worse than the current state.

I finally got my Spartan yesterday. While I generally like it better than the Regult, it has similar problems. I can't understand why they have to put so much visible metal on it! The waist swivel, the armpits, the screw under the gun cluster cover... Sure, those are normally hidden, but with some dynamic posing they are very likely to be revealed. Why did they have to use such a shiny metal? Just a bit darker had helped a lot. I didn't notice this in any picture before I got it, but it's very glaring to me in person.
