  1. The Macross the First VF-1D trainer has an altered head. Otherwise, I don't know.
  2. Unfortunately,I know for certain that my bluray player and my PS3 are not region free. But if the disc itself is not region locked, i.e. multi-region, it wouldn't matter. That's what I'm trying to figure out.
  3. I’m can’t make up my mind about if I should buy this. I think I’ll just throw out my questions and concerns and hopefully someone more knowledgeable can make it clearer: I've heard that some Japanese BD releases are region free. How big is the chance that this release is region free? How were the other Macross BDs? I can't really justify buying a region A player for just this collection... Yes, I’m from Europe and I only have region B players. On another note, were the songs on the Macross Plus BD release subbed and what could we expect for this release? Also, do we know if the bonus intro and ending sequences will be subbed too? I guess we would be really lucky if any of the other extras ended up being subbed.
  4. Apparently, Warner Bros has the video game rights now. There will probably not come a new game before the live action movie comes out.
  5. Yes, From the Stars is part of the current canon. The Yune-verse have changed or clarified many details so that they are more in line with the original source materials.
  6. Uhm... The VF-1 is nick-named the Valkyrie in Robotech canon as well. And the Valkyrie project specifically was the developmental project in which the VF-1 was created, as depicted in the From the Stars comics.
  7. I wonder if those model kits of the QF-3000E Ghost and the SF-3A Lancer II that Yamato were working on will ever materialize. I really hope Arcadia continued those projects. Wasn't there hints of a Cat's Eye and a Spartan in the same line as well?
  8. Yeah, absolutely. They took on a bit more than they can chew. The very fact that the kickstarter was so successful and so many stretch goals were funded is the main reason for why the release is getting delayed.
  9. Einherjar, what do you mean? That stretch goal was funded and the SDF-1 will be produced. Why wouldn't that be possible?
  10. That's the newly designed alternative modes of the YF-4 (known as VF-X-4 in Macross). It will be included in the Robotech RPG Tactics game. And no, Robotech isn't really ripping of the YF designation, that's a real-life reference...
  11. I might have missed some irony, but how is that even closely resembling the new transformation mechanism?
  12. Valkyrie addict, I chose Nippon-Yasan since they tend to down-mark the declared value on the shipping box, meaning I might be able to avoid a lot of taxes. So for me and probably many other Europeans, that's still probably the cheapest alternative. I have never had any trouble with them before.
  13. Thanks, Jenius! With your video's help, I could finally transform my VF-27. It looks bad-ass next to Alto's VF-25!
  14. But the "forward-swept wing Valkyrie", actually called the YF-19, is from Macross Plus, which was released in 1994. So it's not very recent at all... Can't blame you though; the original show is and will probably always be the best. However, Macross Plus is generally considered one of the best sequels, so you should give it a try. The same goes for the toys!
  15. My RVF-25 arrived this monday, which was really fitting since it was my birthday. Took a closer look at it yesterday. It's my first variable fighter from Bandai and I'm positively surprised by the quality. Although, I expected it to be somewhat bigger in comparison to my Yamato's. Haven't transformed it and I don't think I want to; it just looks perfect in fighter mode. Alto's 25F on the other hand, I want to display in battloid mode when it arrives.
  16. Man, this has already become an expensive day... Both the VF-25F and the VF-27 on the same day. Unfortunately from two different shops, leading to separate shipping and extra tax, but at least I got them for a very reasonable price.
  17. Nice, got one! Thanks Cinello! Could perhaps have gotten a 1000 yen discount if I had waited for HLJ to get a restock, but on the other hand, that might never have happened or I might have missed it. This will be my second Bandai renewal and I hope it will be as good as my RVF-25 that came yesterday.
  18. Yes, "send when available" means it will be processed and shipped as soon as it becomes available. Putting it in the warehouse is convenient if you want to combine orders and save on the shipping. The item is then held for you for up to 60 days before it is shipped automatically, but you can choose to send it with other things that you've bought and put in the warehouse whenever you want during that time. So which option you "should" have chosen depends on how fast you want your VF-1S and if you intend to buy more from HLJ in the close future. If you log in and look at your order history, I think there should be options to change between sending when available and putting it in the warehouse throughout the time the item is still on pre-order, if you change your mind.
  19. I'm not sure about getting the Super Parts... I like the look of the RVF-25 when it's bare better, but those Ghosts are such an essential part of the RVF-25 concept, if you know what I mean. Don't know if I can justify the price...
  20. Man, that’s a bit ironic: I got the 30th anniversary version of Hikaru’s VF-1S last year, but I haven't got it up for display yet because I'm still looking for a stand. Could just have waited. But I sure hope those stands are released separately down the line, I could need quite a few actually.
  21. I finally found a Bandai VF-25-series renewal for a decent price... Thanks IXTL! Now it's just the rest of them that is needed...
  22. Actually, I think the shape of that "FAST pack" is clearly a rip-off. And if the fully assembled toy is seen on the package, I can see how it could, in theory, confuse a unknowing consumer. (But to be honest, I don't know much about US laws). The scheme is very close to Hikaru's VF-1A and VF-1S from DYRL, and Harmony Gold has the merchandise rights for DYRL as far as I know. So I can understand Harmony Gold on this one.
  23. I have only built some Gundam gunpla and enjoyed it greatly, but I have no interest in this one anymore. That you need to paint and glue is a deal breaker for me. That goes against the simplicity I like with Bandai's Gundam offerings.
  24. judgedoug, actually it's the YF-4 (the Robotech name for the VF-X-4) complete with two new, never before seen alternative modes.
  25. Einherjar, if you look at AcroRays link above it shows all that has been shown so far.
