The base of the neck rotates around so the head sits in the middle.

The 17D head tilts up and down. The joint was so stiff I thought it couldn't at first. Was that what you were asking? I don't think Yamato planned to make the fold booster for the 17. There doesn't seem to be any possible attachment points. It'd have been great if Yamato had planned for an add on fold booster and radome and sold them as part of the super pack set.

Diamond Force looks so badass! I had my misgivings about Yamato's 17D head sculpt initially, but each set of new pics makes it look better and better.

Yes. It jumped to 29,000 yen and then to 31,000 yen last I checked. It shows that it is out of stock at the moment.

I don't think Bandai overproduce their exclusive parts. The point of the Tamashii Web Shop having an order period is to gauge demand and build to order.

HLJ's discounts for DX Chogokin valks are minimal compared to other major Japanese online retailers like Amiami or Hobby Search. Usually about 5% off or so. Amiami upped the price of the VF-25G after release (surprisingly, there was balance stock after the pre-orders). Pre-order price was 10,290 yen, release price was 13,960 yen.

Generally no. Only 4 releases came with stands in the past (SV-51 Nora, Ivanov, Mass Production ver. and the original release of the YF-21). Since then, all Yamato 1/60 valks have not come with stands. They are only packed with adaptors to fit a couple of Yamato stands that are out of production (Launch Arm stand and Mighty Block stand).

NY have re-opened the pre-order at an increased price. ¥21,000. Won't be long before it matches the price of the first release. I was referring to solicits to retailers and not consumers. VF-4G is not comparable, it is an exclusive toy meant for direct sale to Japanese consumers and not to retailers through the usual wholesale/distribution channels. If you're going to compare the VF-4G to anything, then do it with the Tamashii Web shop exclusive parts. We knew the VF-171 CF was coming, pre-orders did not pop up without Bandai announcing the release date etc. It was updated on the Tamashii website a week before the pre-orders were up. Various hobby sites all picked up and reported it too.

In my mind, this is the reason for the whole wing fiasco. Bandai wants their exclusive 171 Armor parts to be release specific and not interchangeable between the EX and CF. Without the hard point wings, you can't load a CF with the missiles from the EX Armor set.

In response to some of the recent posts, the RVF-25 is not due out soon. The pre-orders for April Tamashii releases have all gone out and the RVF is not among them. If it is to be released in May, the pre-order for it would only go up at the start of Feb. Bandai also sends out solicits and updates their website before online retailers begin pre-orders, so if you're keeping up, you'd know that it was coming. The RVF was displayed at Tamashii Nations 2012, an annual event showcasing upcoming Bandai products under the Tamashii banner. Other MF items like the S.H. MonsterArts Vajra and VF-27 with Super Pack were also shown. These are items that Bandai plan to release in 2013, it does not mean that they would all be released together. Regarding asking NY's owner about the release for the RVF, unless he knows people working at Bandai who plan the release schedule, his knowledge of it would be the same as any other retailer. That would be when Bandai sends out solicits.

Snagged one at Hobbysearch. The pre-orders at Amiami and HS didn't even last 10 min. Traffic at Amiami was so bad, the page couldn't even load.

The super parts are still available for order on the Tamashii Web Shop. The original order period hasn't closed.

Reading the comments so far, it looks like the replacement wings I got with the armor are "duds". I can't speak for anyone else but mine work wonderfully. The old wings never fell off (only the pins did) but they were always loose and jiggly. The new ones swing smoothly and I don't know if they are designed differently, but there is a slight click or ratchet just before it swings out all the way for fighter mode. This keeps them nice, secure and right up against the body without any gap.

The hard point wings and pins from the Armor Pack set are great. They fit more securely than the original ones and align better too.

Thanks! I do wish Yamato had given more name options with the VF-17's. The S could have had a Kinryu and Millia sticker (she did pilot Kinryu's S once before having it painted red) and the D variant Physica and Docker. I would have been even more impressed if they went one up and included Dick and Mory for the D. I suppose Yamato reasoned that most people would have just used the Gamlin sticker so why bother.

A question for those with the 17D. What pilot name stickers does the decal sheet have? Is it just Gamlin or do we get Physica, Docker etc?
