games that do not support widescreen will looked a wee bit stretched, but personally I'm totally ok with that.
Oh yeah, when you watch widescreen movies, its gonna be totally awesome!
Other advise is to get one with speed rated 12ms or lower to mimise "ghosting" effects... basically, ghosting occues because pixels take a wee bit too long to respond to the change in the picture, resulting in residual images.
Wide viewing angles will be preferred (160 deg horizontal) so that nobody will complain of not being able to see when you have a few pals over to watch the latest jessica alba show...
