    yamato's next move

Arrow, Your question just got answered. lol~!
  4. Indeed... and I vividly remember the time when the pics of the 1/48 were first released, people were basically hooked onto the thread, pressing F5 to see what new news/posts come up... lol~! Anyway, I'm VERY surprised that the VF-22 which is basically from Macross 7, which in turn should be bandai's territory ets the green light?? Did Bandai's exclusive rights just get expired or something? If this is so....Hm.... that means more..... repaints! lol~!
  5. Pretty much... what ErikElvis said. Basically, IMO, the 1/48 is more aesthetically inclined to fighter mode and the 1/60 v2 is more aesthetically inclined towards battroid mode (sans the collar issue of course), pls a few improvements.
  6. Not likely to have the Spartan?! Awww....... com'on Yamato... [Rob Schneider] YOU CAN DO IT! [/Rob Schneider]
  7. I believe people don't HATE the 1/48s per se, just that people some people PREFER the 1/60 V2.0s for whatever reasons, just like some will PREFER the 1/48s for some other reasons Either way, it simply means that there are more choices for collectors to choose from. (specially those who aren't keeping the 1/48s as an investment). I know I'm not complaining...
  8. seems to the so... DYRL version at that... wierd for a TV valk....
  9. Don't think I can ever lose interest completely in Macross. Started watching Macross somewhere in 1985/86 when it first aired in Singapore. Since then, I have NEVER stopped missing it. Not even when Macross was in semi-oblivion mode in the early - mid 90s (Macross was mostly contained in Japan and whatever stuff there was trickled out slowly until the internet boom in the late 90s) In fact those years, I have NEVER stopped to look for any macross model kits and toys... and after the 15th Anniversary the wait aid off.... but I could only find model kit re-releases. (thinking back, it was quite amazing that HG did not really pull the plug on these imports as most major department stores had them displayed in huge quantities).... and to my utter disappointment, no toys. I was THOROUGHLY overjoyed when i chanced upon the bandai re-release of the 1/55 and the Yamato V1.0 and since then, I have been in Macross Heaven..... only thing that sucks big time is that the dept stores can no longer bring in Macross stuff legitimately on a big scale.... (no thanks to HG!) So "NO", don't think i will ever totally be done with Macross completely, especially the SDF:M and DYRL? era characters and mecha, though when and if it goes back into oblivion mode, it will be inevitable that interest will wane accordingly.
  10. Maybe Hikaru's arms are in the way. either that or maybe Minmay's head is blocking.
  11. Agree on the shoddy portion on Bandai, but loads of us who are diehard fans would also be hardpressed to notice these errors! lol... Anyway, not to say i dislike the later VF designs, just that comparatively, i prefer the earlier designs.
  12. Adding on to the "noisy" design argument, there have been reports regarding the DX toys' markings being ommitted, painted wrongly or even in reversed order.... just seems to be that the design and paint scheme is a tad over, such that the toy maker and even ourselves would not catch on such errors that easily...
  13. Well, I remember when Mac Zero was 1st announced, the Hory Froating Head himself said he won't care too much about continuity, thus we have a more advanced looking VF-0 compared to VF-1. But I agree that the valks seem to get more.... anorexic. Honestly, I've always thought that the VF-25's battroid mode have too many lines..... too noisy. I also suspect that loads of people are thinking the same way.... i mean, after all, there MUST be a reason why the VF-1 remains the most popular/ representative valk so far, that manufacturers keep churning out rendition after rendition ( and in the process, a weight loss program is implemented as wellm lol~!)
  14. Nice! but hm.... seems that I have to remove one one of the glass levels/ panels in my detolf for this thing
  15. man.... this website is seriously getting NFSW
  16. Thanks for the reply man! going there now
  17. Guys, need a little bit of help here: I've a MG 1/100 Strike Rouge which I intend to assemble, but somehow I've lost the instruction manual..... will anyone who has it be so kind as to scan in a copy for me? Thanks in advance!
  18. Yes! get it off ebay at a good price? yeah, you probably can, but you'll have to watch out for such good deals like a hawk and they don't always come by that often. Why wait so damn hard? See a need, fill a need. (especially at a reasonable price)
  19. Ooooh! I very much prefer this version!

Welcome to the boards! Glad you love the mech, and doubly glad for you to have a wife who appreciates anime and mecha!
  21. Hah... Anime Friend strikes... or should I say "strucked"....
  22. Pls note that this is the model kit and not the toy.
  23. Charger seems to be another inside man for Yamato....
  24. Yep, in fact better than I thought! At least fits better than in fighter mode and got a few of them each for abt $10 SGD (~7 USD) too, a real bargain in local terms!
  25. While I agree that the guys at yamato could have done a much better job with the shoulders, I personally feel that since it can be fixed pretty easily, don't let this turn you away from what is otherwise a great toy/ display piece. I will continue to purchase more yamato 1/60 V 2.0s, shoulder problem or not (although i really hope that they can acknowledge and fix this annoyance)
