  1. I was thinking..... probably it would only be feasible to have maximum 2 detolfs with the supposedly conjoined side's glass pane removed. Imagine you are trying to to put 3 together... that means\.... the center detolf would have both the sides removed. Now, the erason why the detolf can stand upright is because at the front or back pane would be supported by the left or right pane! So...... if both left and right panes are removed....... Well, i'm sure some with carpentry skills can advise how to get around this problem...
  2. That sure looks great! Hope it ain't too hot in there though
  3. From what I remember: Shawn's the one who is maintaining the forums... not just technically, but also financially.... well, bandwidth costs money, and I'm sure that is what we had quite a bit of when Mac F was airing. Other than that, he's also more into model kits instead of toys.
  4. Sold!
  5. They say time flies.... and indeed so. I don't see Noel (Blackaces) posting here already nowadays... and Shawn seemed to hvae disappeared altogether... has he *gasp* finally grown out of Macross?
  6. indeed, but in a translation via google, the reviewer also states in his review that looking at the actual product, the difference is not visible/very slight.
  7. Haha... yeah, thats about as close as it gets.... but you know, coca-cola zero (pun intended) just ain't coca-cola.
  8. Not necessarily true... there are different levels of fanaticism. Some are completist, some love the rare/ not-so-popular valks, but alot more "casual" fans only want the "hero" valks. In this case, once the "hero" valks are over and done with, they will not pay attention anymore to the newer releases. However, if the lesser known valks are released 1st, the hero valk collectors would still be looking at their radar to lookout for the hero valk releases and in the meantime, probably they might simply buy whatever is released in between.
  9. Ikea's Detolf glass display glass should do very nicely
  10. the TV FAST packs are more or less accurate. DYRL FPs are darker in shade, and no matter what the color, they won"t be accurate due to the differences in the arm armor.
  11. haha... when i saw the title of this thread, I thought there was going to be a new anime based on SDF: M! I don't think there'll be anything to do with the 3 original characters, but Lord knows how much i would love to see the VF-1 in action in spanking modern animation!
  12. Hm.... looks like it could use some perioxide treatment.
  13. hah.... i'm proud to say i've watched just about everything that macross has to offer! even mac 7 and all spinoffs! missing some games though....
  14. true, though not as obvious.
  15. Yep, excellent reviews as always. I totally agree with teh lack of stand portion.
  16. to illustrate my point regarding what i feel the direction should be, it should be along these lines..... attached a low vis versus a normal scheme for comparison. Pics made by a member named Garoquel a while back where macrossmilcomnet was active.
  17. I can't read japanese, but the sign in the photo seems to say that the final product might differ from this? Can anybody confirm?
  18. looking nice, but i would have preferred a more military kind of grey and much more muted yellow. Hm....haha.. now it looks as if yamato has quite a lot of leftover grey plastic from the VF-11b and decided to create this scheme

  21. looks good so far, at least the knees can bend. but the stand will probably be necessary, else the crotch lock probably can hold the weight.
