  1. You can order the 1A head lasers from my website. And PLEASE DISREGARD the statements made there that say you may not be able to use the 1A head lasers on the 1A Cannon Fodder - I just managed to get a CF head apart, so these guys work with any 1A head made! Yay!
  2. Just in case you guys didn't notice my thread in the for sale section, but these guys are now available: http://www.mechaskunk.com/store-resin.htm
  3. Let's see... http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/ http://www.fujisan.com/online/Superstore/i...01002309013-6j~
  4. You should definitely splurge, and get the 23" Apple Cinema Display. Pick up one of these guys: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1203 and you can use it on your Dell - like I'm using my 23" Cinema right now. The screen is fantastic - much nicer than the other 24" LCD's we have in the office (Samsung and Dell).

  6. Uhm, these kits never cost $30 - and you'll be lucky to find the recasts for that little. The original CoreWorks kits cost anywhere from $130 to $200, and the recasts of these kits cost anywhere from $60 to $110, depending on the kit and number of parts...
  7. Are you sure it's an original coreworks kit, or is it a recast of the coreworks? I've bought three coreworks originals, and 2 recasts of coreworks, and the originals are all excellent casts, no air bubbles, clean, everything fits together. The recasts, on the other hand, are warped, details are missing, and pieces generally don't line up well...
  8. You also want to make sure your parts - even if they are plastic - are nice and clean before you put any primer on them. Wash them with a mild dish detergent, and rinse thoroughly with warm water, to get any grease or release agents off the parts...
  9. Come on, do it, you know you want to!
  10. Your question, as you admit, was a newb question, and it was kinda ranting. It wasn't complete, and didn't give us all the information to solve your problem. As is stated in the posting guidelines, that forum is for mature modelers, not for newbs - and you could have easily found out most of your answers from other places or by searching google (or using the search function on that forum). If you had asked 'Am I using these paints correctly?' instead of assuming that you were using them correctly, and that it was the paint's fault for flaking off your model, your questions would have been answered, and you would still be a member over there. Don't blame me for what you did - you brought it on yourself...
  11. Hey promethuem5 - keep this thread on topic, and don't call other people from other forums 'a-holes' or 'dicks'
  12. Check the link - Grips war set consists of Zeta, Hyakushiki, and Mk II http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetails_e.a...yoyaku109_e.asp
  13. Order thread is up, with the list from up top. See here for details: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=17142
  14. How big are these HCM-Pro figures? They are 1/200 scale or there about?
  15. sorry for the delay - been slammed with work recently, but I did manage to get the mold done. The only problem - I dunno if it's cause the rubber I'm using is old or if it's too cold in my basement, but it seems to take about a week before I start getting good casts out of it. So, if all goes well, I should be able to start making these beginning early next week (after I get back from yet another trip - woo, philly here I come! ).
  16. With respect to the 1S lasers - I dunno. I may be casting a few more sets of them - depending on how long the existing molds hold up...

    Vf-1d 1/48 Custom

future isn't a polishing agent - future is more of a clear coat, that helps to level out any scratches and imperfections, making the canopy nice and smooth. It will go on over black fine, but it will leave it glossy...
  18. Huh, almost like grown men talking about giant robots that transform?
  19. I've been kicking around the price on these, and I think $6 per is reasonable, plus shipping - which in the US should be $4 regardless of quantity ordered - and unlike the 1S head lasers, there will be no limit on the number people can order of these guys...
  20. It's not that Squadron putty is acidic in large quantities, or acidic at all - it contains chemicals which melt styrene - mainly so that it can bond effectively to styrene (the most common material model kits are made of). Use it in small quanitities, it's fine - it will dry and cure before the chemical has a chance to melt alot of the plastic, and once cured, the chemical no longer melts the plastic. But, if you use it in large enough quantities, it takes a very very VERY long time to cure - I believe it's an evaporative process (that's why if you leave the cap off the tube, any of the putty exposed to the air forms a skin, that isn't sticky - remove the skin, and it's still liquid underneath). The putty and plastic will eventually harden, but it will take a long time to cure... Sorry to hear this happened to your kit!
  21. Yup, some of you have heard about this, so I guess this is for the rest of you. These have actually been done for a week or so, just haven't had any time to take any pics... Check out the page on my website for more pics, and more details. These will be available in the next couple of weeks, once I finish up the final molds, and I'll start a new thread for orders then. Thankfully, the 1A head seems to be the only head released for the 1/48 series that is relatively easy to take apart and replace the head laser - they aren't glued together, so these can be used on stock heads! (at least on the Hikaru and LV - haven't checked my Max yet but it should be the same). Thanks for looking! http://www.mechaskunk.com/headlasers1A.htm
  22. Nope, that's all you. If you are interested in having hollow lasers on this custom head, may I suggest getting a set of the hollow 1D lasers, and then finding a set of 1S head lasers, and combining the two...
  23. Won't be accepting payment for a week or so - don't want to start selling these guys until I'm ready to actually sell them Look for another update this weekend!
  24. Alright! Got the head lasers cleaned up, and here's the results: Check out the entire update on my website: http://www.mechaskunk.com/headlasers1D.htm I should have the molds for these guys ready this weekend, and should have the first casts sometime next week (along with some better pics). Thanks for looking!
  25. I would have to say about 10 minutes - got the MPC Shadow Alpha, transformed it once, and haven't been able to bring myself to touch that thing again...
