  1. Gato and Nina didn't suddenly become love interests - they apparently had a relationship before 0083, and that is why Nina is so torn whenever Kou goes out to fight with Gato - her former love interest, whom she obviously still has feelings for, and the person she is now interested in are going out trying to kill each other. At least to me, it was pretty clear that this was the case...
  2. Might be something that blocks pop-ups?
  3. That would fit in with the 'Hey, we really don't want to admit that we sent these people to their deaths, because we knew all along that this species existed, and that we gave the android (god I forget his name) the orders that if he were to find an alien, to try and retrieve it'. Gotta love trying to harvest a species for a bio-weapon (as mentioned by Burke in Aliens). As far as timeline, again quoted from Corona Coming Attractions... He did let me know that it takes place in Present Day and has all new characters... so NO Ripley this time. It's like a series of its own, not really a sequel to either the Predator or Alien series. He also said that a portion of it takes place in Antarctica and is underground in the ice caves.
  4. Not to make light of the situation, but isn't that where Mr. Sparkle soap is made? You know, the fish bulb soap that looks exactly like Homer simpson...
  5. One other tid bit: September 20, 2003... "The Magic 8-Ball" (who was 100% right about when we'd see the teaser trailer for RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE) knocked on our door late last night to tell us another scoop. Are you ready to see your first look at Paul Anderson's ALIEN VS. PREDATOR next month? A teaser trailer for AVP will ship with all prints of ALIEN: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT -- which is now moved up two full days from its original release date of Halloween. ALIEN: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT will now be in theaters on Wednesday, October 29.
  6. To address your first plot point, as quoted from Corona Coming Attractions: To read the remaining character profiles, you'll need to check out FilmJerk's article -- but it should be noted that one of the remaining characters described, that of a "driven billionaire industrialist" named Charles Weyland, shares one of the same names as the devious company that owned the Nostromo and colony in ALIEN and ALIENS: Weyland-Yutani. Could Charles Weyland be one of the founders of Weyland-Yutani, and as such did he have knowledge of the Aliens as far back as present day?? So, it could be that the billionaire industrialist helped to found this company, who's ultimate goal was to go out and track down more aliens (could be why what's his name on the Nostromo - the android - was basically ordered to capture and study the alien - to try and bring back more samples for the company...
  7. To add in - BUMPing a topic on MW is typically frowned upon by the moderators.
  8. Care to elaborate on this? I haven't watched the deleted scenes on my disc yet, so I really don't know what you're talkin bout (though, considering how much I love alien, you'd think I'd have watched them)...
  9. you can find polyester putties - as kanata so eloquently put it - under the brand name of bondo in the US. Bondo is an automotive body filler, and is wonderful, yet toxic stuff. You can find several varieties of Bondo at your local automotive center (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) - they are sold in pint, quart, and gallon containers, and unless you have a HUGE modeling job, or go through many many kits rather quickly, the pint container will last forever (I've had mine for 1.5 years so far). I use the Ultimate Premium Lightweight filler, and it's beautiful stuff - sands like a dream, can be easily carved, holds it's shape, and dries within half an hour. The main issue with Bondo is it's toxicity - you should use it in a well ventilated area, and unless you are really careful, should wear rubber gloves (I go so far as to wear a respirator too - not only for when I'm applying it, but also for when i'm sanding it - I really need to work on a down draft table). Other stuff I will use, is usually super glue, or epoxy - if I need something to be structuraly, and don't need to sand it too much.
  10. Just watched it - there's no reference to low resources or anything, but through the visual cues, there were too many people on second earth who were soldiers, and only knew how to be soldiers. Now that they weren't fighting anymore, they all grew bored, and had nothing to do - and from the views of their faces with the blood shot and veined eyes, I think it's supposed to insinuate that they are going insane. There is a revolt - some try and get into the shuttles (but there is no visual evidence that they launched), and then second earth explodes...
  11. He wasn't the only one who could communicate with them - anyone with b-cells, that have been fully activated, could communicate with them - like Tony and Aleesha (however you spell her name).
  12. Well, as far as i can tell, the Blue are the Earth's defense mechanism (I forget the actual term they used in the anime). Because the Earth viewed humanity and it's overpopulation as a threat, the blue cells started being introduced into the environment. The Blue eventually evolved from these blue cells (I'm going on bits and pieces here - only have watched since ep 19), to come out and try to annihilate the humans (the threat), to protect the earth. Once that threat was gone (once the fighting stopped), the defense mechanism was no longer needed, so they were absorbed back into the earth - given their suicide orders, I believe they called it. I have last night's episode on tivo, so I'll see it when i get home from work.
  13. Uhm, do you mean this guy? HLJ SmokeScreen Their advanced search function is a wonderful thing!
  14. I got one better - how about a non-removeable heat shield? Now, who could have done that... Oh, wait, it was me. Since I don't have any pics on me, here's the write up Nam Ngo did on his Valkyrie Factory website... Non-removeable heat shield
  15. First off, congrats on the new kid. Second, I was the one who 'ratted' on you - informing a mod of the off topic post. Even though we are all like a family around here, it doesn't mean we can go about cluttering up the boards with off topic posts - even if they are about a new kid, someone dying, or your car getting into an accident. Typically an off topic post will be left up for a day, and then locked or deleted, just for that reason - it is off topic.
  16. If you want a good source of spotlights (actual lights that can be used in a diorama), try an automotive parts store. Some of them have these weird dash lights, that are basically small canisters (about a 1/4" in diameter) with a LED inside, that hooks up to your cigarette lighter. I've got a set (they come in different color LED's - blue and white at least), and I just need to make the platform that I want to mount them to, to put a mech on (basically, have them on the ground, and pointing up, illuminating the mech). Great plans sith - can't wait to see it built (and feel free to ask if you need any help with the mechanical moving bits - being a mechanical designer, it's what I do! ).
  17. Those feet look awful familiar! Great job Jason!
  18. expensive yes. cheap plastic? no. never have i picked up a toy that had such density and heft. it feels as though they took a block of metal and carved the toy out of it. i dont see any piece on here that is not fully painted. The only other toys I've held, that have more diecast in them, are the Aoshima Miracle House Shin Getters, Neo Getters, and Mazinkaiser - talk about a toy that you could knock a person out with!!!
  19. Yeah they told the same thing to Jesus. I would never compare you to jesus.
  20. LOL! Is this a court, or a message board!?!? major, get over it - the edit button is here, the edit button is (probably) staying - waste your time on more worth while causes...
  21. That's how most injection molded plastic molds are made - they are CNC'd out of billets of aluminum. Problem is, a mold that is around 5" x 8" x 3" deep will cost you about $2000 to $3000 - as such, the number of parts in a single mold is limited, and the total number of kits you'd need to sell to recoup the cost of the molds would be in the hundreds.
  22. I really don't like using the whole blanket statement 'downloading music is illegal' crap that the record industry puts out. Half of the albums I own, are live sets and concerts that have never been released onto CD - is the music industry going to come after me because of this?!?! I would love to sign up for some of those music services - like apples' - if they can guarantee me that the live albums I have (Radio 1 releases and such) would be available for download.
  23. Step 1. Goto www.mahq.net. Step 2. Go under the Gundam tab, and look up the height of the Mobile Suit you want to find the height of (say, the Wing Gundam - 16.3 meters - 16,300mm) Step 3. Figure out what scale you want to find the height of the model kit at (say, 1/100 - which means that 1mm of the model is equal to 100mm on the 'real' thing) Step 4. Take the listed height (16,300mm), and multiply it by the scale (1/100) - gives you a result of 163mm Step 5. Convert to inches (for those of us who don't understand metric - 1" = 25.4mm - 163mm divided by 25.4mm/inch equals 6.4 inches) These measurements are obviously approximations - differences in sculpts and model kits will give you slightly different sizes for even the same mobile suits at the same scale.
  24. See? If a certain someone didn't have me tied up with an Armored Gerwalk kit, I'd have alot more time to devote to worthy projects, like a PG GP04 conversion, and the light armor variant of the PG RX-78 Kai...
  25. Why don't you buy a VF-1S strike valk with armor, switch the -S head with the -A head, paint the chest plate stripe, and tada!
