  1. Coolio - great service here Neova. I need one of each: R-R2 L-L2 Damn VF-1A fell, and both the hip sockets broke on it UPDATE - only need the R-R2 and L-L2. Got a VF-1J head from another user on the boards. Thanks!
  2. Wow, that's impressive - What kind of body suit is the figure wearing under the armor? I really like how it's not as bulky as the normal Jin Roh figure, and those spring tubes from the mask are schweet!! EDIT - oh, and I think I saw the auction this custom was made from - the pics for the auction made it look really well done - I guess those were not representative of the actual figure, eh?

    Better hurry

You start the thread with 'Better hurry - SDF-1', and the only thing in your first post is a link to an Ebay auction. If this was a toy discussion thread, you would have made the title 'Has anyone seen one of these before', linked to the auction, and then asked some questions. Should have been started in the Auction forum, plain and simple.

    Better hurry

Why is this in the toy forum, not the ebay forum?
  5. Dry-transfers may work better if you wash your plastic with warm soapy water first to get rid of the mold release agent. Try blue instead on your Sazabi: It's like a Kampfer on steroids!!
  6. They should quit all this Seed and G-Saviour crap, and animate Gundam Sentinel. They finally have the CG technology to do those mobile suits justice.

    Kids and your toys

Just put up a couple of those sentry guns from Aliens - then, you not only keep the kids away, but also stupid friends, small animals, etc...
  8. Mmm... Pittsburgh, PA, by way of Maporama: Latitude 40° 27' 14" 40.4539 Longitude -79° 54' 29" -79.9083
  9. Sounds very very cool, but: Reminds me of the line from Dune... The slow blade penetrates the shield...
  10. Mmmm... That leaves the door wide open for me then! Muahahahaha!!!!
  11. If I am not mistaken, that's the CG Q Rau Rod has been working on - looks amazing!!!
  12. Wow, that thread doesn't seem that offensive...
  13. Sounds alot like this topic... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=5776
  14. Ah, crap - why'd you have to give it such a glowing review? I was going to try and avoid this one (and the Deathpion reissue - something about a fear the GF has of lobsters), but now that you've given such high praise to it, I am very very tempted!!!
  15. The trouble is, take a look at the lineart: The leg armor, as opposed to the leg armor on the GBP, is rather slender - so slender, it looks almost like it's just bigger than the lower leg itself, leaving little to no room for the fin...
  16. I totally agree. You are free to do what you want with your money, including purchasing awesome toys. There is nothing immoral/unwise about that. What I meant was how do you justify it to yourself. Sorry if I offended anyone. You didn't offend me - sorry if I came off as defensive or anything. I just have to laugh at some of the people who have to justify spending money on something they love to a significant other or family member, who just doesn't understand it (even though that family member may collect Beanie Babies, or stamps, or vintage coke bottles, or some other crap). I justify it to myself as - I want it, it makes me happy, and I have the money to afford it, so I get it.
  17. One thing you also have to realize, is a little thing called inflation - a toy that cost $35 back in 1984 (the original VF-1A Hikaru from Bandai) with inflation should cost $60 today, and a toy that cost $45 back in 1984 (Elintseeker, Super Ostrich, and Strike) would go for about $80 nowadays - which, surprisingly enough, is about in line with what Bandai is charging for the reissues. You can't expect toys that you paid $20 for when you were a kid to still be $20 today. As far as justification for paying this much for 'toys' - I don't need to justify it to anyone. It's my money, and if I can look at where I am in my life, see that I am relatively financially stable, and have the disposeable income to spend a few thousand dollars on something I enjoy, then so be it.
  18. Yeah, I am leaning towards not modifying it - I don't want to make something that will only fit on a 1/48 valk without some sort of modification - it would just turn people off. That being said, I may be able to work around it somehow - maybe making two sets of leg armor - one being a little bit bulkier, that can fit the fin inside of it, and is less accurate to the lineart. The other would be slimmer, and would be accurate to the line art, but would require you to either cut off the fin altogether, to fit the armor on, or add on a new outer leg half, that doesn't have the fin. Need to think about this a little more when I'm actually building it, and I can see what kind of space is in there, and what trade offs need to be made...
  19. two words: Mad Skillz
  20. Patience - this topic has been brought up before, and once I clear some space on my table, the Ostrich and Elint are both next in line...

    Dilemma...

Get a credit card, then pay the minimums. That's what I did when I needed money, and it took me a long time to get out of the debt, but I didn't have to sell my collection, I didn't have to ask other people for money, and I didn't have people telling me that I could have the money on the condition that I sell my toys.
  22. Well, then, make one of those into your avatar...
  23. Gundam started a Gundam thread?! LOL!
  24. Where did you find the GFF Zeta Plus for $35?!??!

    Custom JM 1S Hikaru

The elint boosters are rather easy to make - take the missile tip off a set of JM boosters, and replace it with the front tip from the Hase Elint boosters - they fit together almost perfectly!
