Factory VF-1S? What's that? I own the VF-1J Hikaru Super Valkyrie (not the VF-1S) and would like to "upgrade" it with the cannon to have the Strike Valkyrie! The Beam cannon comes in the extra Armour. In your first post, you say Hikaru Strike Valkyrie. That is why Neova asks about the factory VF-1S Hikaru - it has become common practice to call Hikaru's VF-1S the Strike Valkyrie, when it has the super armor and strike cannon. The VF-1J Hikaru is called a Super Valkyrie, because it does not have the Strike Cannon. Since this isn't to replace a broken part, or is even part of a Valkyrie, you should probably try asking for a cannon in the 'Wanted' section.

Ugh - the real question, hopefully the Hi-Zack and Rick Dias are a sign that Bandai is finally tackling the other suits from Zeta!!!!

Alright, I know haterist won't mind this, and I don't either - and Neova should be cool about it to, so here goes. This is the price list that Neova has been working from, and told both haterist and myself about. Head - $15 Heatshield - $10 Gunpod + strap - $15 Gunpod alone - $10 Strap - $10 (EDIT - so it's $10 alone, $5 with gunpod) Backpack hinge - $10 Rest of the parts - $5 All the above parts, because of the demand for them, and their complexity, were priced a little bit higher than $5 apiece, but since you can buy a recast head for $10, and you still need to paint it, I think these prices are very fair. So, now that it's out in the open, I hope people don't try to shaft us guys who are trying to provide you with a seemingly valuable service.

Alright guys - sorry I've been away, but I've been bummed about my thumb (damn bloody stump). Anubis, Hurin, I'll reply to your pm's tonight - and to anyone else I owe a response. Thanks for understanding guys!

If they make a Dark Alpha, I am so there! -
Hey guys - Haterist and Neova mainly. I'll try to go through the list sometime this weekend, and summarize who I can get parts to - but I dunno when exactly. It wasn't bad enough that I hurt my hand in a car accident with a bus about a month ago, but I decided today to answer that age old question. In a fight to the death, who would win - your thumb, or a table saw. I wasn't aware table saw blades could be that sharp - grrr...

I don't suppose you could do a 1920 x 1200 sized one (or as close to it...)

Could someone please do this to a VF?

in this forum? Yes, in this 'Other Anime' forum -

Scroll down about ten posts - there's already a topic on this behemoth. Oh, and there have been two topics about RC Valkyries in the models section within the last two months... -
Chief - I'm going to give Neova a day or so to update his thread - I talked to him last night, and it sounded like there were a couple of orders up in the air, or that people didn't need parts anymore - probably nothing major. Also, the fact that I don't have the donner Roy yet (paid on tuesday - hopefully will get by end of the week, or early next week). You got AIM? send a message to fulcy so we can coordinate better...
-
Hey Haterist - I've got a Roy 1S that I am parting out - so I can probably help out Anubis and Hurin, since they need parts off a Roy. I've also got a Hikaru 1A that is being parted out too - so we need to make sure we're not stepping on each other's toes, trying to help these guys out...
-
Wait, I thought you were a little gurl
-
Not too incredible, considering that these guys probably get paid to do nothing but work on model kits all the time - heck, if that were my job, I'd have the AG finished by now (well, if I hadn't gotten hit by a bus)!! Dammit, where are the pics?!?!

What kind of equipment are you using to cast? Just pouring resin into molds? Looks like there's alot of air bubbles present in the resin - that you aren't degassing your resin either before pouring it, or while it is in the mold. Do you have access to a pressure chamber, or vacuum chamber? You can degas the resin using a vacuum chamber, and that would remove most, if not all of the air bubbles present in the parts. It would also help get the resin into every corner of the mold, ensuring a good cast. A pressure chamber doesn't remove the air bubbles, it just makes the air bubbles much smaller (by pressurizing them), reducing the size of the air bubbles in the cast parts. A vacuum chamber is my first recommendation - I bet that solves all your problems (though, it also looks like there is air getting trapped in the molds - you may need to cut some extra vents into the molds to let the air out. Check the translated article I linked to, it gives great info on venting your molds to get most if not all the air out of the molds). Hope this helps!
-
Well, take pictures of the problems you are having casting/molding, and we can try to help as best as we can. I'm not really too sure what you mean by 'it doesn't fill completely' - are you talking about when you are making the mold, or are you talking about when you try to cast a part from the mold? If it's what I'm thinking you're encountering, sounds like air is trapped in the mold, and has no way of getting out...

Oh, and if you need some tips with respect to casting and mold making, check out this Dengeki Hobby Magazine article I had translated... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41

Wow, that looks awesome! Keep up the great work, and updates on progress... Oh, and btw, just so you know, it's frowned upon to have a picture in your signature...

No longer need the 1J head - thanks!

This is why I'm getting a DVD-Burner, and making back ups of all my important files... Hope you get back everything you lost Capt!

Anybody have any of the other Takara Cool Girl Figures? Just curious about the quality/poseability of them (have heard about Dragon 1/6th figures, but not Takara...). Oh, and Keiichi - want to get rid of one of those extra StG-44's? I'll give it a real good home!
-
Considering that shipping by UPS from HobbyBuy.com is only $8.00, and the FIX figure only costs $35, that's still a heck of alot cheaper than anywhere else I've seen - even the 'sale' at animequest for $59.99, without shipping. Doesn't really seem like they're ripping anybody off with prices like that...

I can see the tag line for the commercial now - about a new line of display cabinets... 'Got Dust?'
