  1. It didn't get dragged under by the barges, it got dragged under by the current after letting the barges float under the bridge ahead of it. It then crashed into the barges on the other side, while the captain who was still on the boat, tried to regain control.
  2. This happened around 1979 - check out the link at the bottom of the page. http://koti.mbnet.fi/~soldier/index.html
  3. I preordered that figure (mechamaniac did too), but I can't remember from where. But, I do remember it was only $100 at the time...
  4. Pete Savin's decals are top notch - I've gotten 5 sets from him total, including the PG GP01 set. Bandai should really hire this guy, and let him do all the decal work on their Gundam kits - those dry transfers and stickers suck!
  5. You and me both - get an A-10, and then mod it into a Cobra Rattler! The Mig-29 or an Su-27 or Su-37 would be awesome too!
  6. Back left? Back right has the only FAZZ in that pic (the back left has the Mudrock, and the RX-78-4 and -5) - though, that FAZZ looks like the Sentinel version - #0005 - that was released at the tail end of 2001 (you can see the upper legs are grey, not white like they should be on the normal FAZZ).
  7. Well, I think your question isn't that easy to answer - depends on how you buy the PG. I've bought 9 PG's, and I've only paid full price on two of them - the other 7 I've bought built, and only paid at most 50% of the original price for them. Sure, they needed a little work to make display worthy, but for about $70 apiece, they are great even if they are unpainted. I guess I'm saying look around, you should be able to find good deals on them (solscud had a thread in the For Sale forum, selling 3 PG's - total on the three was $250, I believe - I bought the MKII for $75 from him - he had a Zeta and RX-78, dunno if they are still available).
  8. Going on numbers from MAHQ.net (since I don't have my toys at work): VF-1J - 12.68 meters tall --> in 1/48th scale would be 26.4 cm's tall GP01-FB - 19.5 meters tall --> in 1/60th scale would be 32.5 cm's tall Judging by the pictures on MAHQ's website (again, only stuff I have to work with), it appears the hip height of the GP01 should be about 17.33 cm's off the ground (it's about 4/7.5's of the total height). This means the hip of the GP01 should be about 2/3rd's as tall as the VF-1J, reaching up to about the middle of the cockpit. From his picture, the GP01 leg is in front of the VF-1J, and should appear a little larger - and, if you follow the hip axis back to the VF-1J, it does indeed land at about the middle of the cockpit.
  9. Unfortunately there are no prospects for a minicoop alternator or the new beetle since Volkswagon and BMW does wish to be associated with war toys. Drew Ah, patience... I have a feeling that there may be a custom New Beetle bumblebee in the works....
  10. By your reasoning, Bandai shouldn't release the RX-78 Ver. Ka PG kit, since there is already a conversion kit that was made for it from the existing PG kit, by G-Sys...
  11. Actually, you can't say that about all their kits - they do carry some authentic stuff, and they also carry recasts... I know they carry authentic plastic injection kits like MG Gundams, etc. If they are also carrying authentic garage kits then that's news to me - must be a fairly recent thing. They've carried authentic G-System kits for at least 2 years now. It's where I got my PG G-Defensor from... G System is a HK shop. I thought you mean they carried authentic kits from Kotobukiya, Kaiyodo, Volks, etc. Do the G System kits carry the license sticker from Sunrise? Oh - I thought you meant authentic as in original, not recasts - since Hobbyfan is notorious for carrying recasts of original, hard to find kits. My bad!

  14. I questioned that too, and then I figured - they probably didn't have the right leg finished, so they used the right leg from a G05 so it could stand on it's own - better than having it propped up or leaning against something...
  15. As TLW said...
  16. Yesh! Wallpaper sized ones - preferably around, oh, 1920 by 1200
  17. We may need to start a new thread/poll, to help decide which box - I'm torn between them - and to tell the truth, I'd be happy with either of them...
  18. Ouh...and I thought it was some l33t mod incorporating all the consoles into one box. It's actually a l33t mod console, just for games that run off VHS tapes!
  19. If were talking about the same slot, then it's not for a gun clip, it's the shell ejection port...
  20. Thanks. Here's a quickie box with a blue Sharon as a test piece. I think this could rock with a blue sharon on the spine. Damn... I believe I was the first to push the desert image for the spine - that is the one image that I always think of when I think of M+, but that blue Sharon looks really really good!
  21. Yeah, we like women - you like doorknobs!
  22. Wow, I really kinda like the lineart box - needs to have a black border around the spine image, but other than that it looks great. Then again, I have faith you guys will come up with an amazing design, just like you guys did for the Macross box. Keep it goin!
  23. PM'ed!
