  1. We mods try not to step on eachother's toes. Its frowned upon to reverse another mod's decision so we try to avoid it. Shawn trusts all of us and our judgement with his board, but he also knows that we're all different... brought together by the BURNING PASSION OF FIRE BOMBA... oh wait.. Macross World. Oh, and Mr. Jaquish, I KNOW that you KNOW that if we let the little things slide... and just lock them then the board will be cluttered with locked threads. Also... if we let one thing go... that will just give people more ammunition(albeit weak ammunition) to throw at one of us when we lock the threads of people with too much time on their hands, a chip on their shoulder, and verbal diarhea...
  2. McFarlane need to fire everyone in charge of making accessories for his stuff. They never work like they're supposed to it seems. Robocop = fugly gun.... the rest captures how boring Robocop can be. I think McFarlane needs to make Robocop from Part II when he gets all messed up. Or maybe Robocop in a his chair(or with a chair to sit it... heaven forbid McFarlane make a toy that articulated). How about Kane? (isn't there already a ED-209 out from McF?) Hicks- Cool. But if I get Hicks I want Apone(please?), Hudson, BISHOP, Ripley(with duct tape super gun), Drake, Vasques, Frost, Crowe, Wiezerbaski(sp?) a dropship, APC, annnd... hmm... that's about it... Hicks better be able to look proper holding his shotgun AND pulse rifle(not necessarily simultaneously maybe one slung and the other in hand). Preds- Er... I think they look neat. I'm sick of seein the same old predators, oh yeah.. I'm also sick of seein the cheesy kiddie preds that hasbro was peddling a few years back. I think the preds look sweet, though I will have to see them in action before passing final judgement. Still... they'd better be able to hold their damn weapons....
  3. I think that was a conscious design decision to improve visibility of the battroid. They should probably be thought of as invisible, not missing. IIRC that was the official answer aka to avoid clipping and graphics corruption with the point of the legs passing through the wings when ever you walked Cyc Makes sense to me. It doesn't really ruin the game for me at all. Though, it has room for improvement I think its the 2nd best 3d Macross related game out there... well ... til I play the new arcade shooter coming out...
  4. Yeah, I mean if someone goes all weird and starts cussin all over the place they'll look and sound as dumb as Tony Montana in the TV cut of Scarface. Call me elitist about this board, but while we have 2000 members, I wouldn't care if 1900 people just disappeared and this was a hidden corner of the net...
  5. Pff... an an Ebay link to a woman selling lingerie is valuable? Hell, only the more vulgar words are filtered anyway. So if your posts are getting changed, maybe you should find other ways to express yourself. Swearing has never been really allowed here, and for a long time nobody really did it because we all knew... now we have 2000 members and more than a few potty mouths.
  6. Didn't they make an Arcade/SNES game based on this show/toy line too? EXCALIBUR BE MY STRENGTH! lol
  7. *big fiery red eye points at this thread*
  8. The Big O. ^_~ That's exactly what I thought when I first read this thread Ditto, but I thought the names were too good to pass up!
  9. yeah, I was surprised that for an old lady she still has a strong heart. After falling from the building twice and she had the strength to shatter her umbrella againt doc ock's head! Well, anyone badass enough to have a card in Marvel Series 2 is ok in my book.(I got the whole set, lol... pity they're worthless now, along w/ series 4 and whatever cards I have). Hell, Aunt May shoulda been a stunt granny to help her pay the mortgage. hahah, that's true. Yeah, I still have the marvel series 2 cards. I think I stopped after 4 or something. All I know is I have a pile of worthless marvel / dc / image / valiant cards just collecting dust. with all the money I put into those cards, I would've been able to buy me several low viz's! No joke... pity I was suckered into that... I thought I'd at least be able to get something decent outta it. Shoulda sold series 2 back when it was $450 and never bought 4 to begin with (though the cards combining into a mural every 9 cards was coo). The only set I REALLY liked were the X-Men cards... series I and II were both awesome imho... and I'm glad I didn't get rid of em. Oh... that and the first 2 Marvel Masterpieces series'.
  10. I thought ReLoaded sucked the first time I saw it, but I went back later and I liked it more. I like all three of the movies though, I like the progression from taking place almost entirely in the Matrix to almost entirely in the real world.

  12. Another huge box set... bleh... maybe I'll pick it up because I for one liked the movies. In fact, while the first one was revolutionary for the time; its a lot more boring to me now that I have seen the others.
  13. Got boring after about 60 seconds. Maybe if he used more clever humor than vulgar bashing. I'd give it a meh.
  14. you already seem to be avoiding it thats a good thing but let me give you a last warning STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM DUNE: HOUSE CORRINO IF YOU VALUE OR CHERISH ANYTHING ABOUT DUNE!!!!!! Yeah, Frank Herbert's vision is, to me, like a Sci Fi LOTR in a way. I mean, its got Sci-Fi/Politics/Mysticism.... and the way he writes is enough to keep me actually interested in seeing what is going to happen on the next page, something that many authors fail to do with me. Plus I enjoy tales of reluctant/regretful prophets... and in Leto II's case... angry with a useless flipper pointed straight at the society that engineered them both. Besides, Kwisatz Haderach just sounds cool to me. I would love to see an OAV series covering the entire Dune Chronicles(1-6 or maybe 1-8 if the last 2 turn out good) done by maybe Gainax(Demonstrated ability to animate more abstract concepts... maybe do a better job of getting inside the heads of the characters without the annoying Lynch internal monologue...)... and any number of anime companies could do wonderful fight choreography.
  15. LoL... one of the books I was hoping would show up in this thread. I mean... I like the old movie too, but it makes Paul out to be more poweful than he really was(like making it rain right then and there, where in the books the change on Arrakis took centuries, even after the death of Muad'Dib). The only thing that I really dislike about the Lynch film is the use of the sound weapons. The new miniseries was so much better. Amen. preach on!!! did you ever finish the books? i remember you were reading them, and last you posted, you were on Heretics....Lynch's movie was an abortion of what the source material was. Although Herbert liked the movie, i think he would be blown away by what SciFi did with the material, even as far as Dune Messiah and Children of Dune are concerned. i hope Scifi decides to go all the way to Chapterhouse with their series. and yeah, Paul was powerful, but not enough to make it rain. even after Leto II, God Emperor's Reign, Arrakis is still not completely green. Leto has his own Bleed to go and run about. and as fast as that happened, in Heretics, Arrakis is completely Arrid again, with the Worms even more savage, since Leto is contained in each one.... SST make more sense if its a Warhammer 40k movie and the imperial guards are fighting Tyranids. but yeah, the book blows it away. Yeah, I finished em. I can't wait for Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune...
  16. I do believe that Starship Troopers is considered a financial disaster. It only grossed about 50 million and cost over 100 million to produce. It didn't turn a profit, otherwise Starship Troopers II would have come out years ago...and with a much higher budget. Ah well, anyway...

  18. I liked the SST movie. Sure, its not the same as the book... but I had fun. It had some good jokes(reminded me of Robocop in that way) and great action. Would have been cooler with the suits, but you can't always get what you want.
  19. Good thread.... maybe we should start a giant thread all about differences between books and movies (with the exception of LOTR, because that's been run into the ground)... what do you guys think?
  20. well to make a long story short; my gf got me a jetfire for my b-day a couple years ago... I still got that... and I owned 2 1/55 TT Millia's for a while because I love her valk, but after living the dream for a while, I needed money so I got rid of them both. I like the 1/48 better anyway. Perhaps one day I will have money for a 1/48
