  1. I believe they said in the Fall was when the new season would start.
  2. You're looking at her lips!?
  3. I know this is Yamato we're talking about, but I can't read Japanese. Is there anything that actually says that this is transformable or not. To date, I've not seen any transformed pics. I'm hoping it's because this is still an early prototype.
  4. The thing is Misa never sat in the VT-1 with her orange flightsuit. The first time she gets in it is on the Zentradi ship, and she only has her grey jumpsuit on for that. The fact that there's an orange flightsuit in the cockpit naturally leads anyone to think it's Minmay because that's what happened in DYRL. Edit: Didn't see your post, Renato, before posting myself. Didn't mean to be your echo.
  5. What, what, what! This is the first I've heard of this! Maybe I can finally get a light cycle toy like I always wanted as a kid.
  6. So, no one can ever post a follow up question pertaining to the topic of an old thread? That makes no sense to me at all. I think asking a legitimate question to a thread is contributing, which is what was done IMO. Therefore, this isn't a case of necromancy. Who made up these "rules"? IMO, if you are able to post to a thread, regardless of how old it is, you should be able to do so. Otherwise it should probably be locked, thus sealing the coffin on the "dead" thread. What isn't contributing is making wise crack comments about necromancy. I suppose I'm guilty of it too by my inquiring about it on this thread, so I'll shut up about it now.
  7. So what's a guy to do then, start a new post just to have someone snap at them saying, "There's already a thread on that! Do a search first before starting a new thread!" Then the new thread gets locked. I see no problem with posting a legitimate question in the proper thread regardless of how long ago the last post was. Better than having a ton of threads discussing the same topic just because someone was too lazy to search for the old thread. Good threads never die. They just fade away.

    Happywell

I can accept that they didn't use any of the same components as the Bandai VF-17, but the legs on that Happywell, look awfully darn close to the Bandai toy. They must have stolen that design and the transformation of the legs from the Macross toy.
  9. Yeah, I can see him coming out of his time warp bubble with his hair singed and going every which way like in Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure. He stumbles out naked with a close up of him going "Whoa". Where is Sarah Connor....DUDE!
  10. It might have been one of those flukes like in Slumdog Millionaire. Basically, his entire life experience has built up to him acting in that movie, and that's the only movie he will ever be good in.
  11. I can't make the connection between having tigershark teeth on the VB-6 and necromancy.
  12. As much as I dislike Keanu as an actor I can see him playing that part. He's got a similar look as Spike. I've seen worse casting in movies than this.

don't know Link works fine for me at work and at my home computer.
  14. Cool, I put in a comment about watching Macross Frontier. Maybe someone will discover it for the first time. Question: Did Mari Iijima ever do a concert like this in the 80s, and if so is it available on DVD now?
  15. I said that when Yamato first started making valks.
  16. Godzilla is selling much of his collection now. You might want to hit him up if anyone is looking to buy.
  17. One thing I think about when I watch SDF-M, is how dated it all is. The way stories are written, the pace of a series, fan service, etc has come a long way since the 80s. I am a huge Macross fan, but when I watch some episodes of SDF-M I kind of fall asleep. Actually, I probably would have been disappointed if Macross F was too much like SDF-M. Things must evolve, and I personally enjoyed what Macross F brought to the table. I'm just glad MF was not like Macross 7. I still haven't seen all of Macross 7 yet. It just has never held my interest. I think Kawamori and company wrote a Macross story in a manner that is consistent with what is popular and the norm now just like SDF-M was written in a similar manner in the 80s. I don't even know what the hell happened during the M7 years. Gubaba, your "crappy Valkyries, row row row your boat, lame love triangle" analogy kind of brings thoughts of M7 to mind. No disrespect to any M7 fans out there. Just my opinion.

Here's the VF-17 knock-off, but I think the shoulders are different, and the tail in fighter mode is all wrong. But, it actually looks closer to the real stealth fighter than the Macross one ever did. http://happywell.smeitrade.com/showroom/mo...d=1000001100160
  19. My buddy was telling me of a news article about how more and more women are doing the strip club thing or even porn movies in this down economy. You see, there is always a bright side to anything. The caliber of women in the adult entertainment industry is inversely proportional to how bad the economy is doing.

    Low-Vis Value

Yeah, cracks are big problem for collectors. I would consider a minor problem to be a scuff on a hidden part that you don't really see. A crack, however, can lead to a total breakage and then the toy is pretty much ruined. The price is definitely affected by such cracks as you have shown. Some people would go so far as to say that full appreciated price can never be realized if the box was ever opened at all. I personally don't care so much about box condition so long as it's not completely damaged, but it just illustrates how picky collectors can be. I believe anything short of full disclosure is fraudulent. Before I ever sell anything on ebay I inspect it first. I would never post something with a simple as-is for a disclosure, and I would never buy something if that's the extent of the info on the condition. Of course no ones perfect and it's possible to miss stuff during an inspection, but joint condition on a toy of this type is a major thing to look for. IMHO, I would be looking for at least a 40% price cut from the mint condition price.
  21. The whole time I kept thinking how that scene was so very similar to the sex scene in 300. Well, almost the whole time. The fight scene in the prison was also reminiscent to the 300 fight scene where Silk Spectre and Night Owl are walking down the corridor kicking ass along the way with the slow-mo pauses for each blow. Not that it was a bad thing or that I didn't like it, just not really new.
  22. He probably didn't want to change his voice after the accident because it's part of who he was before he became Dr. Manhattan. That's the way people knew him before. Having said that, I'm sure he compensated for his voice by giving himself a porno sized package. The other thing I wonder about is why, with all his practically omnipotent powers, he couldn't create hair on his head.
  23. I think HLJ forces EMS shipping on items over a certain dollar value. Probably for the traceability factor. I could be wrong on that, but that's what happened to me. edit: from HLJ website "Some physically larger items and valuable orders (15,000 yen or more) may be shipped by EMS even if you request SAL shipping, depending on where you live. While this costs you slightly more, the far better handling and trackability of EMS, we believe, is justified when shipping very valuable items."
  24. Yeah, the price is a bit high for me especially given that the VF-25 is not on the top of my must have list. They do look really nice though. I also have to factor in overseas shipping. If they were around $30 USD I would probably get them. For now, there are other things I would rather spend my money on at the moment. I can only hope that they sell well enough for Bandai to eventually release the VF-4 and a few other of my favorites. I will wait to see how things go later in the year. I still might get some, but I have other things on my priority list at the moment. We're just getting saturated with so much cool stuff this year, and not only Macross stuff. I'm talking Star Wars, Transformers, GI-Joe, Back to the Future, Watchmen, and the list goes on and on...
  25. Am I in the wrong thread? I thought this was a VF-11B discussion?
