Pretty cool. It's like a 3D model of an school video game character.

Jungle or Mandarake are good places to check for discontinued Macross toys.

LOL! That's a good way of putting it.

Well, that was quite refreshing to say the least. I forgot how much the animation quality improved as you get to the end. Finished up the series today, and I also watched DYRL to cap it all off. I'm going to watch FB2012. I already watched Zero and Plus the other day. I think it's time to give M7 another try. I can't seem to make it to the end.

I just have to point out that the 1/100 HMR line does not compare with a 1/60 Arcadai/Yamato toy. It's a lesser toy and the price and scale reflects that. So, if someone is not happy with a 1/60 Arcadia toy a 1/100 HMR toy as an alternative is not going to leave one satisfied. Apples and oranges really. By all means collect the HMR. They're good "low budget" toys. Personally, I'm getting one of each release. But, I wouldn't do it over a 1/60 Arcadia.

I'm up to the episode that shows a Macross_nalds. Ha ha, I forgot about that as well. The Minmay dolls are being sold at a General Products store. That was a nice Easter egg of sorts. An FYI to some 18+ content. Of course we all know Minmay's shower scene shows her butt and side boob. Also, Roy has a topless nudie poster in his room. Also, I kind of like the changes to Roy's death in DYRL among some other things. It's much more epic than the way he dies in the series. Although Kakizaki's death in the series is a little bit better in the show vs. DYRL IMO. Still his death in DYRL ranks pretty high in shock factor and pure awesomeness. I liked how they maintained continuity when Max crashes through the bridge area of Britai's ship. In later episodes they show it still damaged since Zentradi lack the capability to repair or build new. Although now that I think about it didn't the micloned Zentradi spies have to repair the Reguld to escape the SDF-1. Was that a result of being exposed to protoculture.

I'm wondering what movie has had the shortest time to get a true remake?

I see a lot of new members on the forum these days. Maybe the Delta news has brought in new people. I'm guessing some might be lurkers that have been around as well. In any case I think it's good. Welcome to all.

Is it possible to use Lego Digital Designer to reconstruct a model to then use its instruction functions?
-
Got up to episode 8 and starting into 9. Some things I completely forgot about. Minmay's aunt's/uncle's restaurant is the Nyan Nyan Chinese restaurant. The SDF-1 was designed to dock with the ARMD ships. But, ARMD ships were shot down before they could dock. The SDF-1 originally couldn't transform. It was converted after the first fold because the power conduits folded away along with the fold drive and they had to figure out a way to connect the main cannon directly to the main power reactor. The power originally routed through the fold drive.

I started with M: Zero. Did that today. I'll start SDFM this evening.

@microtree33 It would appear that the Regult will be milked and have separate releases for each missile version. Our top men on the streets have indicated the HMR stuff not currently on schedule for release were 3D printed bricks at the Tamashii Nations show. Edit:that's what I recall from the podcast. After listening again, it was mentioned that it looked ready to go as it was smooth and looked good, but he still wasn't 100% sure it wasn't still a more refined printed prototype. In any case there was no indication of a release date, so it's not a confirmed item that will definitely be made. I don't think it's a matter of not being popular or that people are not that big of fans of the N-G. I always liked the design and wished more toys were made of it. I think the issue is most companies prioritize other mecha way before the N-G. More of a marketing/project investment issue. A toy company is going to develop toys that will give the most return on their development costs.

Is Evangelion considered a mech? Isn't it some sort of cloned angel with armor. I guess what I'm getting at is that it's a living organic being as opposed to a machine.

Yeah, if you are not 100% sure and think you might want to cancel the pre-order for whatever reason HLJ is the way to go. The last time I canceled a pre-order with AmiAmi I was able to by emailing them and making up some lame excuse. They did it, but they did mention doing this too often would result in my account being closed.

You know, in my mind I'm always reading your posts in Cookie Monster's voice. This particular post is particularly funny that way. LOL!

I don't blame you for forgetting. It's not like we get a lot of TV SDF-1 toys. It's as though it doesn't exist anymore once the DYRL version was created. If I'm not mistaken each time a Macross class ship is shown now it's always the DYRL version. In M+, MII, and Frontier.

Also, there's just something off about a pissed off demoralized a-hole eating crackers. The 2 just don't go together. Also, the part where they knew a walker was very likely in the town, yet they didn't make it a top priority to do a thorough sweep to find it. The only reason the writers did that was to put in a moment where he surprises them and they have to kill it.

Thanks for the updates, Save. Really appreciate that you guys are able to be our eyes and ears over there.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a delay in release. Or, they are only doing very minor changes.
-
I can't remember, but I thought that's the way it looks. 3 large rectangular sections are the thrusters under each foot.Edit: for the TV version I mean.

I thought the SDF-1 was shrugging it's shoulders in that photo. I wasn't really kidding. I think it was done on purpose to pose it doing the moonwalk
-
Frontier gave us a sky surfing Macross Quarter, now we got a Moonwalking TV SDF-1. Now I've seen everything.
