How many times have you watched episode one of Frontier?
DJ Loe Kee replied to taksraven's topic in Movies and TV Series
frontier - seiyan subs twice and shinsen subs once every other series, ova and movie once... except for sdf macross which is 1 and a half times, i was re-watchin' it before my mb died on me and i forgot where i left off (luckily i had all my macross on dvd-r). -

i'm tryin' to recover files with a hard drive enclosure. i had to downgrade my pc and my sata 2 hard drive is unusable. i have a 500gb 300 mb/s sata 2 hard drive. but i've read reviews that ppl were able to recover files off of old pc's/hard drives with some of these external enclosures. but i was thinkin' that any enclosure should work like that too. basically, i need to get my anime and music off of my hard drive and onto dvd-r. but i know nothin' about brands for external hard drive enclosures. should i go with one of these or another brand? Newegg.com - EAGLE ET-CSESU2-BK Aluminum 3.5" Black USB 2.0 External Enclosure - Retail ^no fan Newegg.com - KINGWIN Z1 Series 3.5" Black USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure - Retail ^no fan Newegg.com - Thermaltake EA3006 Aluminum 3.5" Silver eSATA External Enclosure - Retail ^fan an eagle and a kingwin helped two ppl recover their files, but i gave out links for a higher up model. i really don't care for the fan since i only want to burn my files to dvd-r and not use it all the time (the hard drive is goin' back inside my case once i upgrade my mb and processor). Newegg.com - Thermaltake EA3006 Aluminum 3.5" Silver eSATA External Enclosure - Retail ^no fan Newegg.com - Thermaltake N0012US Aluminum & Plastic 3.5" Silver USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure - Retail ^fan my cpu's heatsink is a thermaltake, that's how it made the list, even tho' i don't want to spend $50 on a enclosure. -
co-sign i may use this on my mai myspace http://www.myspace.com/maiprod me and deelete are big macross fans. actually deelete is a even bigger fan of star wars... but he is the one who showed me dyrl back in the day.

World of Warcraft OR Guild Wars etc...

^lol. reminds me professional chinese gold farmers in wow. by chinese i mean native chinese livin' in china, alot of ppl are professional gold farmers. i say chinese 'cause i asked how to get quick gold in wow and somebody said "you could always hire a chinese gold farmer". -
i heard a rumor that southern cross was canceled and that was not the way that it was supposed to end. they just had to end the show 'cause they were goin' off the air. i think that explains the weird endin'. i haven't seen the japanese version, only the robotech version.
-
i agree. i have korean and japanese movies (chinese and thai movies are next) with no english dubs, they are import dvd's and i have a region free dvd player. i hate it when my friend's want to watch the dubs of american released foreign movies sayin' things like "it's better in english". that's like sayin' that the fresh prince of belair is better dubbed in japanese (that's the only american show that i know is dubbed in japanese). tomb raider had the americans fakin' british accents and the british fakin' american accents...

i heard that adv has different audio. vvvvv when i tried orderin' it, rt.com canceled my order but i had enough money in the bank, so i didn't re-order it 'cause i didn't have $50 to spend on macross anyways (bills, bills and more bills)... so i haven't seen the animeigo's version yet...
-
adv set, then my friend's will want to watch the dub while i hate dubs. i buy the "only subbed" dvd set whenever i can. i was forced to watch city of violence dubbed when i wanted to watch it subbed, lucky that i wasn't at my house.... now i have to rent it just to see how the story really went ('cause they like to rewrite lines and scenes when they dub them).

that's the exact same set as the one on rt.com, the only difference is that it is missin' the "outer sleeve". rt.com actually sells the outer sleeve for $10. http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=237 you could buy the set as 3 separate volumes and spend more money than is needed... http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Set-1-Vols-1...2405&sr=1-2 $23.98 new http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Set-2-Vols-4...2405&sr=1-4 $34.98 new http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Set-3/dp/B00...2405&sr=1-1 $37.29 new equals $96.25 and you have to pay s/h for each separate volume. notice that some ppl sell the "new" and "used - like new" for more than i listed, i went with the lowest priced new set. or buy all 3 volumes as one set with an additional outer sleeve to store all three sets in and SAVE money. http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=93 $39.99 new they are both Animeigo's box sets, doesn't matter which one you get...
-
he's talkin' about this. http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=93 $35 for the entire season. alot of u.s. anime co.'s will sell just 2-4 episodes for $15-20. adv set uses animeigo's restored film version, but they didn't use the original sound effects (i heard rumors that they used g.i. joe sound effects instead). oOo, and they adv set cost more last time i checked. $25 per volume and you have to buy 7 volumes (the $35 collector's version is just volume 1, not the entire season).

i agree with everything, especially with basara singin' & dancin'.

that makes sense, sorta like music production. i can encode my music usin' my masterin/mixin' software usin' 96kHz or 192kHz but i would just be wastin' hard drive space 'cause it has to be downgraded to 44.1 kHz in order to fit on an audio cd. -

me too. i would love to see clash and sean connery's james bond's movies on hd... but wouldn't they look worse on hd since they weren't originally fimed in hd quality film... -
SW?!? the first thing that jumped in my mind was stormwind... not space war I... ...and then the elf, lol, WoW... the ghosts of kamjin, roy and kazikaki... sorta like the ghost of starscream in transformers... m0 has already brought the supernatural into the equation.

add some easter eggs like a jetfire/skyfire color scheme from transformers...

maybe i have the v1 dvd-rip. all of my anime is on dvd-r and i would have to go through 55 dvd's to find macross plus. it is a scene where isamu and guld meet for the first time at the park or fishin' pier (i can't remember), they argue and guld leaves with myung on a bike i think. i think isamu and myung or isamu and that "freckle" girl went out there on the bike and they ran into guld or guld and myung. as long as manga got it right eventually, i'd be fine with it. i have ninja scroll, ninja scroll widescreen and ghost in the shell on dvd... and i noticed that they went from white subtitles (ninja scroll) to yellow subtitles (ninja scroll widescreen) to correct the problem of not bein' able to read the subs when the scene is a light color (yellow is still hard to read sometimes, they really need to add a black border around them, not keep changin' the color).
-
i agree, the manga subs sux in my opinion 'cause they didn't even sub a line of dialogue (it is just blank). apparently they wanted me to watch the english dub instead. this is for the ova only, the line of dialogue was subbed in the movie... but i can't remember if the movie version was a dvd-rip or a fansub.

^i uploaded the shinsen subs version on crunchyroll.com if you want to watch it online, they have better subs and they subbed the singin' too. -
i hate hardcore but i'll give him his props, it's good production. i like how he mixed in the mf jingle.
-
i agree with karl. leave the old characters out of mf. i didn't like the fact that max and milia were in m7 'cause they made them get divorced. so i want no more sdf macross moments (like max and milia hookin' up) gettin' "fcuked up" and changed in some sequel.
-
and i was goin' to say claudia. i was waitin' to see if anybody else would mention her.
-
nihongo (japanese) don't even have a V in their language, this is a FACT. i guess next that you will try to tell the nihonjin (japanese) that R and L are supposed to be two separate sounds/pronunciations (example, they would pronounce "right" and "light" the exact same way). nice, i love it when english speakers tell nihonjin how to speak nihongo. i'm goin' to mexico to learn how to speak english correctly... apparently i learned it wrong while in america...

sheryl?!? you just ruined my flower girl, basara and soda vendin' machine love triangle.
