I attempted to practice photographing myself just for the hell of it and came up with this : Click for PHOTO I look old and ancient for some reason. It's the camera's fault . I think the photo makes me look like that guy on Big Trouble in Little China, one of the three sons, the one that blew himself up .

The PlayStation 3 Thread 80GB Edition

I received the free blu-ray movies today, curiously they were shipped from Buena Vista, from the same state as me , and it's taken this long. So in total, (sent July 23rd, received October 9th) you figure out the time span . -

Saw that vid awhile back, last year I think. Made me cringe a bit . I looked on eBay and saw well over 100 '08 Camaro BBs. Some of them should have been left in stores so that people who actually wanted them could buy them. -

Heard the news about a movie TF restock and checked out a few stores after work. TRU had a decent stock, but no '08 Camaro BB. Target had a decent stock, but no '08 Camaro BB. Walmart FINALLY had some stock (and to my surprise a full shelf), but no '08 Camaro BB. Where is '08 Camaro BB? This is frustrating. -
DL'ed and watched episode 4 when it was posted here. I was hoping for some female Karas action , but what was shown was decent. Same here, hopefully it won't be delayed. I really dig Karas, looking forward to its conclusion.

Appleseed Landmate
VF-2SS-BloodPhoenix replied to Less than Super Ostrich's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks for link and your help electric indigo. A quick search on google and this is the best I could find: Appleseed - Concept Art I suppose there isn't much info on the movie designs on the net. I guess I can watch the DVD and take notes. I'm thinking of designing a 1/6 scale Landmate for one of the 1/6 scale figures I have. I'm in the mood for scratch building one of these. If it doesn't work out, then I'll just create my own 1/6 scale power suit. -

Does anyone know where I can line art of the Landmates from the CGI Appleseed movie? Any books detailing the mech? -

I'm disappointed in that trailer for MP-1. It's just a bloated G1 trailer, all the way down to the flawed ramp that's too steep for any vehicle. I just expect an MP-1 trailer to have more realistic detail, some electronics, lights, motorized functions, better designed ramp, etc. Heck, make roller an RC. This is the 21st century, RC components are cheap, a perfect MP-1 trailer is a no brainer, not this blown up G1 trailer. It could have been awesome... -
In the case of the SELENAs, the robot didn't impress me til it was finally assembled. And a more diverse selection of robots would be welcomed . I bought one of those action figures too. They're of lesser quality, I think, made of soft PVC and a bit too heavy to hold some poses. The action figures are the same scale as these model kits. The model kits are pre-colored, no painting required unless you want to customize them personally. They're all snap fit, and only a few parts will require glue, mostly the extremely tiny parts. I didn't use model glue on those tiny parts because that type of glue is always a messy experience. I used another sticky substance that doesn't run off but is sticky enough and clean enough to work with. As far as being lazy, well, I had a rush building these kits .

I bought them all from HLJ. Here is the link: Armored Core injection model kits I'm sure you can find some other online retailers that carry them too. The thing that really impressed me was how detailed these models are. I'm not a big fan of the AC games, but I can certainly appreciate a well designed modern robot . Another nice feature is that you can swap parts around (head, torso, arms, legs, weapons). The scale is also perfect. I'm really digging these robots!

Thanks. I messed up Skywarps left horizontal tailfin in that photo and realized that I accidentally bumped it so it's angled up a bit, but I'm glad you like the photo. I'm also thinking about adopting the 1 Transformer rule too since there's nothing interesting out, and I'm still looking for an '08 movie Bumblebee...

Not sure if this has been discussed here, but I thought I'd share these. I built these 9 kits in about a week. Finall finished them all this past Monday. Worked on them everyday nonstop, obsessively . They're all stock, nothing was customized or painted. Photos aren't the best, but still, check'em out: NX01 Rayleonard 03-AALIYAH Work in progress: PART - 01 | PART - 02 | PART - 03 | PART - 04 | PART - 05 | PART - 06 | PART - 07 PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-002 Crest CR-C90U3 PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-001 Mirage C01-GAEA PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-003 Mirage C05-SELENA PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-007 Crest CR-C840UL PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-002 Crest CR-C90U3 Blue Version PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-006 Crest CR-C75U2 PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-004 Mirage YC07-CRONUS Vixen_Version PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 AC-003 Mirage C05-SELENA Metallic Version PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 | PHOTO - 04 Some more photos of all 9 ACs: PHOTO - 01 | PHOTO - 02 | PHOTO - 03 Scale comparison: PHOTO - 04

Hmmmm, same here. I got the movie deluxe Arcee 2 weeks ago, but someone beat me to the '08 BB and I haven't found one yet. Target actually got in the Ult. BB, which I gladly passed. -
The PlayStation 3 Thread!

Interesting info regarding the process of HD media. I'm sure that it will take awhile before all this HD stuff takes off and studios rethink their profit margins. I got a PS3 over the weekend and mailed in for my 5 free Blu-ray movies this Monday, July 23rd via snail mail. Movies I picked were: 1)Invincible, 2)Phantom of the Opera, 3)Stir of Echoes, 4)Babel, and 5)The Transporter 2. I've never seen these movies and they sound interesting from online summaries so why not eh? Transporter 2 reminds me of the anime Riding Bean, heh. I've also got a cheap OEM HDMI cable and was wondering if that was required for 1080p as the highest resolution I can access with component cables is 720p, and my TV supports 1080p. I haven't connected my PS3 to the internet yet, but I might just for the Heavenly Sword demo... for now, I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma . -
My favorite is still the first Low Visibility VF-1A. I just like the realistic color scheme with the exception of the gunpod being white. Next would be the VF-1J, then the 1S, and last is the other 1As. Color schemes that I don't particulary like are the Angel Birds, Low Vis. ver. 2, and Stealth 1J. I'd rank the Max and Millia Super 1Js just above these.
-
The VE and VT body seem to be identical in design (from what I can tell of the 1/60 scale ver.), that's two for the price of one. 1D as extra money. It should be more cost effective to do minor remolds than to create a new one. Creating new Fast Packs shouldn't be as expensive as a new VF mold. Doubtful or not, I am aware that my thoughts won't change anyone's mind, but it doesn't hurt to voice my opinion. As far as paint variants are concerned, I think Yamato's latest VF-1s should answer your questions .
-
Haha! With the upswing value of the Taka VE and VT, will this prompt Yamato to reconsider their stance on those for their 1/48 line?!
-
Of all the new repaints that Yamato has released recently (Low vis. ver. 2, Stealth 1J, Angel Birds, Kakikazi, upcoming Anniv. ver.), the Kakikazi is the only one I'm interested in, but the box is just plain ugly. Yeah, I'm a box person . I'm not particulary crazy about their current crazy color schemes. If they made a 1D, VT, or Elint. I'm buying most definitely.

If you're asking me that question, I don't review movies. I'm seeing it for the robots. It's not like there's a live action robot movie every year. I'll loathe the 'romantic' bits, though.
-
As far as the poll is concerned, I've always had a good premonition about how nicely done this movie will be. Maybe I've always had this vision about a live action TF movie similiar in vein to how it's being done now, so I don't really have the kind of religious hatred towards this movie as most rabid fans do. I'm going to be there on opening day, or earlier if time permits.

Transformers Super Thread 5

My first impressions were along the lines of, "It's ginormous!" The fighter jet is as big as a 1/48 VF-1 and is pretty damn awesome. The robot mode is solid, in that there are no gaps anywhere on the robot body. The display stand is a beautiful piece, and I only wish that all the MP TFs had some kind of display stand. The missles are also a nice touch to the fighter jet. Mines didn't break, despite it had fallen once, but there are a few stress marks on some hinges out of the box. I've only transformed Starscream once to robot mode and left it on the display stand. It's sturdy on the stand, but Starscream can stand on it's own.
