Know what...I was still wondering which of my valks is the best based on their sculpt, detailing, articulation and such....when I read this post....... It was Hikaru's VF-1J I saw printed on the box of a junkfood when I was little, which got me hooked on mecha. It was Hikaru's VF-1J I drew in my exercise books during primary school, which got me into trouble with my class teacher. It was Hikaru's VF-1J when anyone mention the word 'MACROSS'. Heck, it was even Hikaru's VF-1J when anyone mention the word 'ROBOTECH' Looks awesome in all three modes in that white/red paint scheme.....and that grey goggled battroid looking back at me from my TV set. Yes....hands down, my Yamato 1/60 VF-1J Hikaru wins that special place in my heart...

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
boyarque replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Mine have gone through a few transformation cycle, and so far holding quite well. But it is currently in Battroid mode for more than a month now, maybe this weekend I'm gonna play around with it and see how it fares.... -
maximilian_jenius: from the pics and the change of proportion, it is safe to say that the old armor and super parts will not be compatible. Raptor One: So far, all Bandai frontier valks under DX line have no stickers. All are tampo printed.

Pretty spiteful I think? I think he has done a good job given the limited resources he has. You should be more angry towards Yamato for producing the 'explosive' hinges rather than blaming Graham who's trying to rectify the problem. Even if he didn't manage to send me any hinges, I'll still appreciate his efforts towards other members. Just my 2 cents, and if the mods think what I state here is inappropriate, kindly remove this post, tq.

Remember Transformers G1 toys, and how their value skyrocketed in the early 2000's? Then came the Encore series, which ultimately drives down the value of the G1 toys...now, that is a TKO to the face! And yes, came the Universe and Generation series which keeps the spirits and likeness of their G1 predecessor, but with improved articulation and sculpt...just a case sample. I'm sorry, I just can't find the logic of lamenting why the manufacturers keep on fixing the 'issues' on the valks. For me, I welcome all the improvement, the fixes and the gimmicks they can add. On why it was not there in the first place, it may be simply there wasn't any at that particular time. But hey, that's just me, a Macross mecha fanboy from the 80's, I'll take what new valk may come. If these kind of things do frustate you, then maybe Macross collecting is just not your 'thing'.

Owh, how I agree with your statement there! Pretty much sum up the situation. Look, if you buy toys and expect to make big bucks or strike it rich...you'll end up getting burned. All the high/exorbitant price u see in the market like ebay and such, mostly are speculative in nature. Transformers especially so. For myself, from I was 6-7, have always been fascinated by anime with mechas....and Macross was love at first sight. I mean, that time, seeing a F-14 Tomcat lookalike sprouting arms and legs...it was simply an amazing site! Only after I got a job of my own, do I manage to buy Macross and such as not only a collection, but something I play with and enjoy. In short, I buy what I buy because of passion...monetary values doe not mean much to me.

If everybody agrees that we separate the shoulder replacement distribution according to region, then I volunteer for Southeast Asia or any nearby areas.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie

hmm...Matrix Soul might have a point there...it could be possible that QC is a bit shaky since I have read comments on both extremities in the spectrum. In one end, we've read complaints on floppy joints, stress mark and so on.. In another, joyfull bliss all the way... Well, here's more pic of mine, to show how I've enjoyed it so far, and also its stability...thus making me impatient for the upcoming vf25 renewal! this pic taken while hanging out with friends. Even they are impressed with the Durandal. -

No such problem with mine. Though not better than Yamato, but certainly much, much improved from the VF25 v.1. Material feels a bit flimsy, but still acceptable. Gerwalk mode is so stable, the nosecone is just inches from the ground. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
boyarque replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
ah dang......again, it's the year end toy rush. With the influx of new products from both Yamato and Bandai, I am again torn between buying a new valk like this Nightmare, or buying other older valks which would be on sale.... my wallet is crying either way... -
thanks for the vote of confidence, Exo.

i've been playing around my durandals...and believe me, I play a lot! I am not those type who just display their toy. No such issues so far. Paint chipping and looseness is subjective, methinks. It's how you handle the toy. And I for one does not regret Preordering it in the first place. -
Thanks Sebastian, that's a good improvisation!

concurred...I thought it was a scratch at the beginning, but upon closer look, it's like what charger69 said... -
Is anybody handling Asia or Southeast Asia region? I could volunteer but I doubt the members here trust me yet...

there's a bar locking to the forward underfuselage, so the back end wouldn't sag backwards. -
