I wuld be interested in a few sets, providing they are PVC, the correct colour, and, well, pictures would be nice... Tanks! Rain

I am SO not interested in 1 1/100 toy. I am Valked -out. The VF O design is cool, but I want diecast and I want something at least as cool as a 1/60. Unless these things are soooper cheap, no thanks.

Hurm.. the Snail is sold out. That was a whacked out price. Bastards! Anime Extreme has them for $70.00 Crap in a hat. That's more than the price of two at the Snail... 1000000 Comix never heard of it, Kikiwai and Fata/Kuramae will sell it for 110.00 , Advance Hobbies doesn't have it... will I have to shell out 70 bucks for this? Yaaagh!

Thanks. Reideen is not a Chogokin, actually. He's 100% plastic. Medicom's Miracle Action Figure, to be precise. A very delicate, fairly posable "transforming" Super Robot. He looks like diecast, feels like a model kit, but he's the best rendition of Reideen I have seen. And I got him for , like, 16 bucks, so hey. I rock.

Yes, it *looks* good. The Vf-11B *looks* good. The Escaflowne, in guymelef mode, is held together, to quote a friend, by the innovative use of gravity, and a very stiff cape. No ratchet joints, nothin'. It's like a bad YF-19 reject. Erg. But I still want one. It is one of my favourite mechs. I even have the Guymelef In Action version (Anime Collector's) which is total ass, but it's the Escaflowne... so I have it.

It will come when it comes, just be patient. As I've said before, I'd rather they took their time and get it right rather than releasea botched design. Graham Er... like the Escaflowne? Gawd that thing is horrible. And it only took em three years to release it! And they still can't make it work! Yaaaaaaaaaag! What's worse is that I know it's bad, and I am still getting one.

Thanks for the compliments, folks! The planes are fairly solid, although the Elint and Osterich took a nose dive when I was tlaking to a friend on the phone. You see, the reason I put the Ikea C-clips on the hangers was to both protect the plastic and paint on the diecast as well as providing with a support that could fit in the tiny slot located just aft and below the hinge for the backpack. Shoved in great, kept em in place. Then I took them off to fly them around the room, and as I put them back on in haste, I neglected to secure them properly, and they ended up crashing with minor damage. Hurm. Max: I saw somebody post on here last year about using coat hangers for display, and coating them in plastic to reduce paint chipping. I took that a little further here. All the planes, including the Super 1D (yeah, putting missles on a trainer is asking for accidents, but it looks cool) that are in flight are using coat hangers inserted into the gap around the shoulder joint in plane mode. JBO : Asuka's Eva is dicing up a mass production Eva. That eva is not a model, but a bootreg toy I got from a convenience store. It sucks, but at the time was the only version of that toy around. It's plastic is very brittle, but looks great with blood and gundam marker... I had purchased these toys before I saw Eva 'cause I loved the designs. Then I saw Eva... and hated Asuka.... thankfully the scene that scenario is from is kinda cool, so I am okay with it... barely... UN Spacy: Still playing with the posability of the hangers. They'll get painted soon, once the backgrounds are completed. All backgrounds are print outs of screen caps from the tv show and movie. The top image behind the M&M 1Js are from the Mac plus boxes... Neova: All the non-Yamato toys are from the original Robotech line of toys. Again, thanks for the compliments!

I kinda like the 1s flying in Battroid mode. The hangers have been used with Ikea c- clips (found in Ikea's parts department) attached. This is obviously a 1/60 collection. My second 1D is wearing the fast packs belonging to the 1J. There is one space waiting the arrival of the GBP... one day. The 1/48s are elsewhere. Oddly, the old Matchbox toys seem to be closely in scale with the 1/60 valks.....

Heh. No, I didn't take it as a personal attack. I just found it amusing. (green!)

Well, you just shut my mouth. How can I possibly compare to the brillance that is your post. I bow to you, curtsey and plant a big smackin' kiss on your mug, ya silly. Of course, I am referring to the two fastpack sets that I have (one of which is on a blue Max 1a, by the by), and not to colour photos on the net. And you are very correct:I'm looking at these fast packs under yellow-hued light. Funny that, living in a star system with a yellow sun makes everything appear somewhat yellow. That's a relief, 'cause I thought I was getting a little jaundiced there for a second until I read your post. I have also stopped brushing my teeth, as it is the sun, and not my oral hygene that is the culprit. "compare it to a compressed, image on the web or the T.V. screen (both of which generate their own blue-white light) " Yes... I noticed that in every TV show, everything has a bluish tint to it. I examined my tv set and then took it in for repair. The technician adjusted the RGB control, but that only made things greener. Odd that my TV was nowhere near the other side of anyone's fence. I guess I will have to write a letter to the folks who make TV shows that they better watch out what they colour their props and costumes, 'cause the TVs people own will distort their creative works with blue-hued images. That explains why my THX setup screen doesn't work properly. And it explains why the people on TV can't see me, because, the way my brain sees it, if their hue is different to me, maybe my brightness is different to them... and I have to turn it up somehow so they can see me warn them when trouble brews... Heh. Anyway, that was fun. Seriously, though, I wasn;t complaining. I just noticed a difference. And the strong greenish tint (making them look a dark teal) is pleasing to my bulbous, jiggling eyes. I was just surprisd that Yamato made such a difference in their rendition of the fast packs, when the colouring is obviously blue in the material it was based on. I personally prefer the greenish tint on the 1S. However, I remember the box of the Arii kit of the 1A MAx Special with the Strike cannon, and wanting a toy with blue fast packs. I may still do that, if I have the guts to paint it. Graham: I figured that the store was BSing me. Their motto is "We rip you off for less"... I don't care, though, as I ordered a 1J with the fast packs. I probably won't use them, though. But I am still wondering why Yamato chose that colour scheme? Ah well. Back to cos-playing and trying to get a date with Whaler Moon.... Rain

Thanks for your replies. So my next question is.... why did Yamato colour the fast packs green? I might colour my Max a dark blue if I can handle it. We shall see. Does anyone have pics of the 1J with TV coloured fast packs? I am also being told by a local store that the 1J has fast pack armour that will only fit the 1J and not other 1/48s. Is this so? Thanks!

So I got my two fast pack sets for my Roy and Max. They rock. I shoved in my DVD of DYRL and rewatched the scene where Max rips apart a Zentraedi fellow, and... the fast packs are blue! Blue, I tells ya! I did a search here for Fast packs and colours, and came up with nothing. Hikaru's fast packs from the 1/55 strike are a slightly darker green. Odd.... What do you guys think? Is my DVD showing me weird colours off (I have the "Hong Kong" edition of the DVD, so it is not up to the specs of the brilliant R2 20th anniversary edition due out next year....)? I also noted that there is a rerelease of the 1S Roy due out with fast packs, and the 1J set... I wonder if they will have similar colours. The TV fast packs were a sickly light blue (as depicted in the 1/55 Bandai rerelease). Rain

Huh. I had heard that this 1J was a non-transformable 1/60 scale figure. I am actually kinda glad, as my old 1J has some paint scraped on his shinfin, and a GBP will hide that nicely. As to *where* I am going to hide this toy, only space and time will tell.

I couldn't resist. I looked long and hard at this, and realized why I don't like this design.
-
I am not concerned about floppiness or shoulder problems, as they will stay in fighter mode for the majority of their existence. They never transformed in the movie. Just one question... what was Kawamori drinking when he designed the heads on these things?
-
I heard it was, then haven't heard about it since. So is it dead? No more VF-1s? No TV Kakizaki, no DYRL Kakizaki, no TV Max, no DYRL Max1S, no DYRL Hikaru 1S, no airshow Valk, no GBP, no Max wedding, no woops, the-tired-overworked-animator-slaves-from-the-Taiwan-sweat-shops-made-another-mistake-valk?

Huh, yeah, I have a couple of saved searches on Ebay and Yahoo Japan. If worse comes to worse, I might just customize the recently replaced broken Green Koubu I have, and stick a sword on it. Sigh... a quest for re-colours, but a quest none the less...

Hello. This has been a quest of mine fore years... The Sakura Wars figures by Medicom, released in 1999 are great toys that have been tossed aside by many for some unknown reason... but man, I think they're cool. After about two years of looking, I managed to find five of them. There are seven.... I am looking for Sakura's (pink) and Sawada Hiroshi's (white mail away exclusive). They are quite posable, big, have light-up eyes and say their power-up slogans when you press the button on the top. Very nice... Can anyone help me track down these figures?

I find fine Gundam markers to be great, as they come in more colours than just black. However, any permanent marker with a fine tip will do... Micron and Copic are fine too, thinks I. Other people will slap you up side the head and tell you to use a black wash with Tamiya paint and call you a cretin if you don't. I am a cretin.

All this prop stuff looks nice, but I would have nowhere to put it, and I'd be beaten senseless if I wore it grocery shopping. I personally would kill for a Robotech baseball hat. Anyone know where I can find one?
