I'm emailing HLJ today for that same reason, but on the Kakizaki DYRL version. They've been awesome about that sorta stuff before. Clearly this cockpit problem is a recurring motif.

I had the same problem. Moreover, the white paint on the back of the shoulder - light thingies for both Max and Miriya is scratched all to heck and back during normal careful transformation from Gerwalk to Battroid mode. I'll check my other backpacks for comparison - I have all but three of the releases so far. More info soon.

This is the first 1/60 2.0 that I have considered investing in. I was determined not to repeat myself with collecting these things, but gosh... it's my favourite Macross valkyrie. And it comes with a squishable Minmay! Can it get any better than that?

1. Shojki Kawamori is functionally insane. 2. He has great influence over the Yamato design team, and will have even his most eccentric whims answered. 3. Yamato, the king of selling the same toy to you fifteen times over, will no doubt produce "anime accurate" versions later on for your enjoyment.

I just want to see the phrase "Thunder Hummers" in large bold letters on a Yamato box. That'd be good for a larf. Seeisslee though, I can see the VF-2 recolours a lot more clearly in my oh-so-accurate crystal ball than any kinda retool. Especially that Platypus. I mean, it'd look like it'd be wearing adult diapers in Battroid mode. But I guess that "depends" on one's perspective.

I hope the recolours continue, as it would be fun to customize a tv 1a max to wear a Zentraedi outfit (my second favourite scene). However, I think that there has to be some logical reason for this move. Either a public vote was observed in order to determine product desireability, or it is a test release using the least expensive means of product modification to see if there is a market (this thing is identical to the DYRL 1 in every way, save for the solid blue intakes). I am assuming that with their new painting technology (see the increased use of painting on the VF-0), Yamato is able to produce recolours even more easily than before, and that this obscure recolour's sales will determine future releases. Obviously the non-cannon "low-viz" design sold well enough to warrant two more releases.

Okay. I'm confused. What is Yamato's strategy here? Was there a vote on Yamato's website or through Dengeki Hobby? How did this repaint come up? In fact, how did the Super 1J Stealth and Forest Camo come about? I understand that the customized version of the original Low-Viz 1a received a lot of attention from Yamato staff during hobby shows. Is it the same here? I'm tickled pink that Yamato is releasing this 1 episode wonder, but what about the main character vehicles? The head spins...

Forgive my impudence, but wasn't the original 1/48 cad designed? Would it not be logical to modify the CAD file instead of modding a 1/48 toy? I suppose one could mod the 1/48 toy and re-scan all its component parts back into the CAD program, but that seems like a fragile and costly measure...

No, it's not selfish to keep your loved ones alive. It's not selfish to prevent something disastrous from happening to someone you love. It IS selfish when doing so results in the death of someone else. Given a choice to save an entire star system or your loved one, what is your decision? I would let a thousand galaxies die in order to save a loved one. Your desire to save a whole world of strangers who may or may not turn against you is also selfish, becauseit is based on your preference to adere to your own morals. The people on these worlds are strangers - you don't know them, therefore are capeable of all aspects of humanity, unlike your mate, whom you know intimately and can TRUST - something a stranger can never have - if they could, they wouldn't be a stranger. "It IS selfish when doing so results in the death of someone else." You argument is illogical and circular. You have a complete stranger beside you who will be shot if you don't help your mate from certain death. You would sooner save the stranger than your mate. Undateable!

I would have liked you to write a detailed response to my points. Since we saw the same movie, and I labled each character as being reprehensible at the very least for not being communicative, I'd like to see where you think I detract from the movie. It can understand why you assumed I hated the movie. Although I stated that the movie had horrible characters in it, I actually didn't hate the movie. I thought the music (that wasn't tracked from previous movies), the special effects and even Haden's acting (gasp) were laudable. Sure the script was nowhere near as tight as the original trilogy, but it far surpassed Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. In fact, Lucas held true to his word that the film would make us look at the original trilogy in a new way. I now will have emotional difficulty watching Episodes IV,V and VI knowing that Obi Wan is the kind of fellow to turn his back on someone he taught poorly. What I was extremely repulsed by were the characters and what they did and did not do at crucial moments. These are not complaints about the film, but of the characters. Anakin was evil for killing the children? If you believed you had met your soulmate (what are the odds soulmates finding each other?Rare. We're nopt talking casual relationships here. We're talking soulmate. Not ships that pass in the night), and your soulmate was going to die if you did nothing, would you not want to find a way to save her? What if the way to save her would mean turning your back on culture, your family and friends? Perhaps we differ here, and that is your perogative. For me, I would choose my mate over a billion people's lives. Would it be easy to do? No way. Anakin didn't find it easy, but he wanted to save his mate. Anakin's error was in not communicating any of this to Padme. He should have been able to talk to Obi Wan about it, but Obi Wan wasn't exactly the best person to go to for a heart to heart. Anakin didn't have anyone to go to for real, honest advice. And don't forget Yoda. Yoda KNEW there was life after death, and he doesn't tell anyone until AFTER the big hoopla on Mustafar. WHAT about when Anakin went to see him? Yoda went on about how "death is a natural part of life". Bull crap: Yoda had a way out thanks to Qui Gon, and didn't tell Anakin. Fading away on Dagobah was a fate too good for him. Please, outline what you think is wrong about my assessment, and I would be happy to discuss it. The movie did not suck. It was a Star Wars movie that, I guess, really opened my eyes to the fact that the characters were really annoying and destructively stupid.

The Revenge of the Sith is about stupid, non-communicative people who have misplaced loyalty (save Anakin, whose loyalty was to his mate first). All he needed was a friend. All he needed to do was to communicate honestly. The image of Obi Wan watching passively as Anakin *burns alive* and then *turn his back on his friend* has burned into my brain forever, killing, outright, what stood as an icon of goodness in my childhood. Everyone in this movie is reprehensible, save for the wookies, and the animals. Everyone else is selfish, stupid, non-communicative, dishonest and a coward. When I see Vader cut down Obi Wan in A New Hope, I will be the first to cheer, glad to know that he and Yoda died cold and alone, their dreams dashed because of their careless, thoughtless, self-centred stupidity.

Go with Kevin Lam from Valkyrie Exchange. His prices aren't whacko, he's friendly and he is prompt on delivery. His website is nicely set up and he is an active user in the forums his customers use. I only have one complaint. He takes far too long to answer emails (I think he replied to mine in about an hour. One whole hour. I can't believe how slow he is to respond. Yes I am joking). I had a bad experience with Blasto Toys, and wouldn't reccommend that store.

All Radio Shack stores or watch retailers will sell you the battery. The Perfect Grade Strike is an exercise in Zen wisdom. If something doesn't work, you haven't done something correctly. Bandai went out of their way on this kit to make sure that instruction following folk could not make a mistake unless they ignored or mistinterpreted a step in the process. I found it quite a meditative process, much like raking trails in a sand garden. I had moments like yours above, and with concentration, mixed with a sip or two of Jasmine tea, things came together. I have fears though, that the process will not be the same with the PG Char's Zaku and the PG Zeta I picked up. And for those in Toronto, swing on down to Anime Extreme and pick up the PG Strike for only 160 smackers. I thought I was smart getting mine from Hong Kong for 109 US plus shipping. D'Oh!

Yes, you could. Now remember, we are talking about mold making here, which means you would have to take apart your toy to its BASE components, like a model kit just removed from the sprues. You then must take a mold of the parts you want to enlarge. THen you pour hydro span in, and once it dries, you soak it for 14 days. You'd better be serious if you want to take apart a 1/48, down to its base components, but it sure would be neat. Hydrospan also dries a clear blue and is like rubber, so it would make a poor final result... you'd have to make a casting of it. It is not a 1 weekend task... it's a project. And it's expensive. I haven't done the math yet, but 3D printing services often charge $40.00 per *square inch*.

Once, a few years ago, I stumbled accross a chemical compound that basically expanded evenly in each direction when placed in a mold and then removed when dry (before expansion?). I think it was on this site that I saw several references to it. I am wondering if this will be a cheaper method than a 3D printing service. The reason? I want to make an accurate 1:6 scale Spinner from Blade Runner, using the Medicom 1:24 version as a guide. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do a right click on the image, andyou should be able to determine its location. It's from the offical Star Wars site. It's a pic of the toy, due out April 2. You can see the pilot is the same feller in the previous screen cap, minus the frightened expression. Having looked at both pics, (the frame cap and the incredible one you supplied above dfrom ep3) there are some differences, notably the color of the stripe on the top of the helmet... however, note also that the helmet changed dramstically from the EP2 design. Moreover, there aren't any other ships with a cockpit like that. Abd to finally puit it to rest, look atthe quicktime version of the trailer. It's clearly and arc fighter, until it blows up.

Sure. Just get people to be more tolerant and little less ignorant, and you will see a great decrease in conflict. Using the word "gay" as an insult is on par with someone using a racial slur. But just incase he didn't, and just incase impressionable people are reading this and are given another reinforcement that using the word "gay" as an insult is okay, I reasonded in order to counter such primitive thoughts. I'm actually kinda stunned that I am the only one who says anything to counter these views.
