GobotFool imho one needs to wary of ideologies whether it is religious, philosophical, political and so on.

How, most westarn countries including the U.S.A. are bending over backwards to do everything above and beyond not to offend the muslims. I don't hear or see the majority of Afghanis and Iraqis complaining about their liberations from tyranny. Virtual slavery of women, genocide, total disregard for other religions, homophobia and others are valid reasons for calling them "backwards."

Iirc there was a bunch of small areas of Asia the Mongols couldn't conquered. Back to KiH, it already been reported Ridley Scott had cut over a hour of film from the movie to appease the westarn muslim lobbyist groups ie CAIR. Yet they still complain the movie is bias against them.

Somebody thought he could "redo" this pic back in 97 or 98 and not could call on it. Other than one website [been gone for five yrs. now] who check out whether comic artists had plagierize other artists, I haven't heard anything of the aftermath. got the 'redone' pic? Wrong question, correct question is "Can you find it?" Answer is I got it somewhere on disc and I don't have a frelling clue which disc it is on. Would need a little bit of time to find it. -

Nah.. In war, life is cheap. No kidding. How many friends do you think Roy lost in the last years of the war? By this point, whats one more? It is disappointing all of you are applying the "In war, life is cheap." fallacy to soldiers when it generally only applies to the leaders (political and military).

Ghost in the Shell, Batou or the Major?
Mislovrit replied to Effect's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Was the GitS 2 graphic novel supposed to be censored or uncensored? I assume uncensored, based on the fact it has a sticker on the front saying it's for 18+. Haven't had a chance to look yet. I have already bought the GitS 2 graphic novel some time ago, and it truns out they're still censored. -

Was the GitS 2 graphic novel supposed to be censored or uncensored? Going by the bilingual edition, they were making VR drugs not porn, when Batou interupted their session. -

And at what speed, cause the mech have to move faster than the turret tracking it and the mach 5 projectile fired at it? -

Like a human sidestepping or by pivoting the torso to face one way and the legs another? Kinda of irrelevent you have to take into account the turret, which will keep track of the mech regardless of direction it is moving in. -

It greatly depends on which tank like the Abrams is iirc the front third is armored while the Merkevas and the latest Leopard 2A6 varients the entire top is heavily armored. Again what with the assumption only the mech would be moving during the engagement? -

At the cost of being a even a greater target themselves. Same argument been around since the days when the M-48, M-60, Centurion and Chieftain vs the T-54/5, T-62, T-64, and T-72 were the mainstay. The fire-control systems and the weapon(s) are important than what height it is fired from. Against older un-upgraded generation tank that would be correct, But with the advent of top-attack weapons, modern tanks been upgraded to remove the vulnerabiliity against those weapons. Prey tell how is a giant biped robot more manueverable then a tank or any other armor vehicle? Making the assumption the tank crew won't be firing at the mechs and while moving to either keep the distance from better armed mechs or closing the distance against lesser armed mechs. -

It is easier just to build an armored drone then trying to figure out not to overwhelmed the driver with everything needed to to do in and out of combat. Yo're a bit behind the times as this subject have been a continuing work in progress for over 50 years. Scout and APCs, HAPCs, and some support vehicles it may be possible. But for tanks and other combat oriented vehicles three men and four men crews are the smallest number realisticly possible. -

Have any one here ever considered the problems associated with things like maintenance, field repairs, refueling and reloading an armor vehicle [track, and wheel] crew have to do on their own? Dumb question on destroid armor, do the Cheyenne, and Monster use the same type as the Tomahawk, Defender, Phalanx annd Spartan? Something to think about as the Cheyennes were blown to bits from 55mm fire from the SV-51. -

Swipe the diesel powerpack for a fusion powerpack or what whatever powers the destroids. Also swipe the maingun for one of the cannon off a Tomahawk, type of armor is use couple with RL 2000-2005 FCS and presto a superior anti-tank, anti-mech vehicle. Better not use mechwarrior as example of the creator already admitted they deliberately nerfed the tanks and the rest of conventional armored vehicles just so the mechs wouldn't be slaughtered in mass by them. As it is only thing keeping Mechwarrior by slaughtered by real life armor vehicles is the future armor as the mechs hard pressed to get within firing distance while being hit from several kilometers aways.Gundam is anime magic at it's worst not to mentioned having some of the worst designed tanks and aircraft ever designed. 1/1 LowViz Lurker, RL tanks almost never operate without infantry, artillery, and close air support just because of . Especially considering what happened to the Isrealis armor during the Yom Kippur War and to the Russians in seige of Gronzy back in 2000. -

Actually despite the armor being just steel back there it still far from being vulnerable to hits Could you list a scene where they do that? Problem with the is they're such a big frelling target to which any version of the Abrams, Leopard II, LeClerc , Challenger II, and etc. can spot and shoot them at range as well as maintaining the range difference should the mechs try to close the distance. If a tank is close enough to have to look up at it, it deserves to be step on. Or at weapons and the cockpits. -

Which scene, and not to mentioned total disregard to the accurate use of tanks and their abilities. Anime magic prevents tank from any where what their fully capable of. Which for real life tanks and their crews are more than able of tracking and plinking attack helos, low flying aircraft and UAVs. -
Way OT - Best media player to use?

I do recommand trying Zoomplayer as it is pretty good at playing almost everything. Would've also recommanded BSplayer but the newest seems to have turned into nag-ware.
