China procession of part of Kashmir, border disputes with India and other central Asian countries, need for oil and other resources they have an very active interest in the region. Russian Far East is a smorgasbord of untapped resources including oil, and as well of plenty of real estate for the overcrowded China set it's sights on. Iirc most of Russia's nuke arensal is positioned along the Sino-Russian border should China takes an overt move toward them.

Mistaken thinking, as there will be a winner in a shooting even if it is a pyrrhic victory. Similar thing said been said about Germany before WWI. After the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Chinese communists have proven they'll do just that to advance the communist cause. Chinese threat is the military, as with economics they have to compete with other countries in skilled and unskilled fields. With their track record with dealing with foreign companies doesn't inspire them to stick around when they find a cheaper and more secure places elsewhere to go to. Chinese are very much in the arms race selling their military hardware.
-
Cause of that losing bit is where the nukes come into play, the loser will certainly fired them off turning the supposed Chinese victory into a defeat at worse or a pyrrhic victory at best.

Flexing muscles is another way of saying saber rattling. Other superpowers use discretion when making a point.

Hardware wise not much compared to the personnal (management) issues Airbus is facing. Still pretty small compare some of truly monsterish thread there. Slow news day on that subject, usually thread derailments tend to be informative instead of the rehashed subsidy argument.

The folks over at Tanknet been doing a much more thorough job staying up to date on the A380 matter in their Toasted Baguette ?, A380 in big trouble thread.

Old one as the milbloggers got that online couple of months ago.

Even in this day and age it does matter a lot as long as more jobs are created over the the number of jobs lost and where. Latest Boeing news Boeing Awarded U.S. Air Force Combat Search and Rescue Contract

No penalties would occur unless Boeing fails to fix the weight problem by the delivery date. FedEx canned that option along with the rest of the order.
-
Screwing up in and by itself won't Boeing, it's how it handle the situation(s) with the customers which will make or break the company. Given how badly Airbus botched up the A380 and customer relations, Boeing can afford a few minor setbacks.
-
Production problem(s) won't effect Boeing much, as long it stays honest with the customers about it. Lying to the customers like EADS did will turn a minor gitch to the a problem of nightmarish proportions. Sometinh which won't help Airbus at all, as there is other manufacters to turn to besides Boeing and Airbus should the situation become dire enough.

The source code have been available to the Brits for a couple of months now. Especially to avoid the tit-for-tat hijinks, and the keep them on board the program.

Again this argument brings up the USAF negating it's part of the National Security Act of 1947, as they're required to processed and maintained sufficient lifting capacity for the U.S. Army. USN is guilty of doing the same crap to the U.S. Army as well. Business as usual as the USAF Brass throws a fit any and every time Army personnal operates any fixed wing aircraft. Unrelated to above, here's a site with pics of a sort of bad lanfing by a Eurofighter. bad landing link.

What the U.S. Army needs is more C-17s [or similar sized aircraft like the C-5] and even more sealift capacity as most of it gear and supplies is still going to be put on boats. Latest report on the FCS link.

Thank you for the information, now all that's left is how much abuse can they take before exploding, i.e. the dos and don'ts of storing, loading, arming and etc.

More likely they're After Burner fans.

Aren't fuses located on the front end of the bomb or missile while the first part of said objects coming into violent contact with the aircraft is the @$$-end?

Brief from his bio pretaining to him and his Army ambition. Pointless cause nobody here bothers to do any research on any individual to learn why the Navy would honored them by naming a ship after them.
-
U.S. Navy would disagree with you as Ike is a very important U.S. hero, patriot and leader long before becoming president making him more then eligible for a ship to be name after him. Whether a carrier and not something else would have been after named him had he not been president is a logical question. 417525 Really? Are you the Navy's new spokesman? 417534 No, check the link I had posted earlier in post #66.
