  1. I'm surprised nobody commented on velcro on the uniform?
  2. It's in English, but I have no info on who puts it out (I watched on a friend's copy). Dubbed or subtitled?
  3. Well David thank you for the notice. Also watched it on FOX.
  4. Iirc it was the YF-32 that was the last straw.
  5. Probably want to take a look at these sites. Northrop Grumman homepage http://www.northgrum.com/ Northrop Grumman Newport News section http://www.nn.northropgrumman.com/index.asp
  6. iirc Northrup/Grumman is leaving the aviation business and instead is focusing(sp) on their shipbuilding operations. Yeah! Where did you get that info? Beats me, the best I could recall seeing the tidbit on an avation or military news site some time ago. Frankly I do hope it is just a rumor.

  8. I've just about completely stop watching the channel after the merger.
  9. Iirc the Gripens are suppose to be great at defending but are a bit short-legged without mid-air refueling.
  10. Plus there's the little problem of who's got enough aircraft to warrent loading 10 AMRAAMs on to a hornet.
  11. Another picture of the Hornet's twin AMRAAM launcher. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/sys...aam-dvic408.jpg
  12. Cost over-runs (within reason) isn't too much of a concern provided the plane is worth the price.
  13. So there is some intelligence in the USN procurement department. Or they have already tried and failed to make a stealth Hornet or fit a modified F-18 frame around a F-35.
  14. Why did the U.S. Navy want the F-35 instead of yet another Hornet varient?
  15. Conventional single barrel and revolver cannons are indeed lighter, smaller, and relativaly simplistic to operate and maintained compared to the vulcans. Plus with a small ammo load, a vulcan isn't very practical. Iirc Northop developed a new 20mm revolver cannon for the F-20 but the cannon along with the Tigershark been canned.
  16. It more than just bribes, and officially, outright bribes is not something you want to get caught doing, especially by the news media.
  17. Iirc they got into some deep **** trouble for doing something illegal (something to with bribes and such) and since been on the blacklist for the past 30-40 years.
  18. Yes for the "thud" sound it makes when it crashes.
  19. F-15 ACTIVE http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/Graphics/F-15ACTIVE/ F-20 Tigershark http://members.aon.at/mwade/
  20. At least they unterstood the concept of imperfect beings. Many of the gods and heroes at minimum had serious character flaws.
  21. That of damage doesn't seem to down A-10s very often.
  22. At this stage of the game there's really not much point in rebuilding the machinery to build more F-14s unless the Tomcats are intended to be in service for another 20-30 or more years. Anyone hear anything about Grumman is getting out of the air industry completely?
  23. David Hingtgen on your "one engine or two engine) post you considered the advantages and disadvantages during wartime? As it seems to me you've just listed the benefits and problems of just peace time flying.
  24. Imho the bottm half of the armor type Dana squadron is wearing looks like armored diapers.
