Corrent, Kunoichi is Japanese for female ninja. No one actually uses it as a name except for gaijins without a good grasp of Japanese. The game is actually a spinoff rather than sequel to Shinobi, as the storylines are not related. I think I prefer her masked:

Plus a few Chinese bootlegs. B)

The unmodded PS2 won't boot any backups, legal or not. Sometimes you might want to play your PS1 game on the PS2 instead. The PS2's powerful enough for you to run a PS1 emulator on overclocked mode. This allows some of the PS1 games to run with better texturing/graphics and/or smoother. Tenchu 2 was one such game that played much better on the PS2 than it ever was on PS1.

The games are all dubbed, sub is not even an option. Same deal with the shows they put on TV.

1) Like the lack of a coherent story line has stopped Bandai from releasing crapfest games like those "Gundam Battle ASSault" games here. They probably fumbled when ditching the original dubbing studio that did the OYW OVAs and MSG in favor of some Canadian non-union shop, so fat chance of hearing consistent VAs on the US Gundam games, if they come out at all. The 0079 crew will also sound vastly different in Zeta Gundam, since they will be voiced by totally different people. 2) Bandai is simply too lazy to translate all the names, not to mention grabbing dozens of VAs to record the lines in English. 3) You speak of the limited edition box, which retails for ¥12,800, roughly $107 US dollars. 4) Based on the "something comes out in the US, we'll have something better that's Japan-only" pattern, I see AEUG vs Titans a Japan-only title now that Fed vs Zeon is available in US (see earlier post regarding model releases and LWC vs J2J).

Trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet. No one has posted them Man Faye photos yet...

I did point out it was a rumor in the original message if you missed that... the article itself also told people to take this with a grain of salt.

1) Doesn't matter what chip you get, eventually it will become obsolete and you will need to replace it because Sony distributes mod-detect lockup schemes to game publishers and this scheme is frequently updated to keep up with new mod chips. There is at least 1 new chip out that uses Flashware to address this problem, but we do not know if Sony will come up with a solution to counter that specific chip (e.g. detecting the presence of the Flashware-ready chip by looking for the chip's presence rather than its content). 2) Generally no. There may be some new mod chips that allows you to view import DVDs but I am not aware of any. 3) No. If you are primarily getting the PS2 to play import games, might as well buy an import console and save yourself all the trouble. At least it is guaranteed to work with all new games from that region.

Didn't see anyone mention this rumor... word has it that besides the new Padme footage Lucas is shooting for the original trilogy, he's entertaining the idea of redoing Ep 4's light saber fight between Obiwan and Vader using digital doubles to make them look more exciting. I sure hope Sir Alec Guiness is not rolling in his grave. Edit in: Original AICN report

Resident Evil: Apocalypse website is up!

Yep... and if you consider that Wesker worked for Umbrella too... it makes STARS even more part of Umbrella. Nope, that just makes Wesker a mole for Umbrella. If STARS was an Umbrella unit, they wouldn't dare to destroying company properties. -
Silent Hill goes to the silver screen

Kubrick's dead. Stephen King doesn't direct. i just hope whoever they do get to do this will not screw up the creepy feeling and atmosphere of the games. More likely than not, they'll turn this into another one of those mindless action flicks with laughable gore/makeup and weak attempts at jokes. Did I just summarize the RE movie? B) Silent Hill works well in an interactive medium, I am not so sure they can sustain the creepiness and tension for 90 minutes or longer as a film. -
The PS2 version is vastly inferior to the DC version graphically. This includes the bleached-out colors, poor explosion and transparency effects and probably more specifics I can't remember for now. While I have never seen the arcade version, many who did claimed the DC version was a perfect port except for a slight lag. This link should bring you to loads of screen shots from the arcade version. Edit in: click on another link when you've used the link above to go to IGN's ad page.

It already did... in Lost War Chronicles. Thanks to the retards in charge of Bandai America, this game (along with the PS2 edition of Giren's Greed) was never brought over like other PS2 Gundam games. Lost War Chronicles sports a vastly improved Journey to Jaburo engine. I have a feeling that Encounter in Space will probably suck like Journey to Jaburo (since these games are made by the same developer) and a year later they'll release a new game with a fine-tuned engine (like how Lost War Chronicles was a tweak on the Journey to Jaburo engine) which again will be a Japan-only title. Ever notice how when a Gundam model kit gets released in the U.S., they got a new or better version in Japan? Since when did STARS become part of Umbrella Corporation?! That's like saying Snake and Raiden are members of the Patriots... -
Won't be long before someone posts those horrible photos again...

Silent Hill goes to the silver screen
Jolly Rogers replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Based on the original. You might want to tell your friend to check out Silent Hill 3 and revise his script. 3 directly ties to the first game and basically wraps all unfinished business up, explaining all that were left unexplained. -

Go to GameFAQs.com, you can find plenty of plot guides posted there that explain things well. -

I have to agree. The Resident Evil movie was only good if your age is in the single digit range, or if you saw the movie with that mindset. David Cronenberg would be a great director if they are going for the vibe of Silent Hill 2. Fincher was great with Se7en, but his latest (Panic Room) didn't do much for me. -
Kill Bill good, Cabin Fever bad...

LOL, that was unexpected. Let's hope Underworld doesn't turn out as overhyped as Cabin Fever... although I haven't been hearing good reviews. -

Hey, Ian Holm is a great actor. Long before he was even a hobbit. I'm not so sure I should buy this set. How do I know 5 years or so from now there won't be another "special collector's set"? You spoke my mind! Fox loves repackaging their movies every couple of years... STAR WARS anyone? The first trilogy must hold the world record for the most versions of home videos ever released. -

Was your friend's script based on the second game, the first and/or third game, or an original story? -

That flew right over my head. I am not planning to see CF, can you explain it a bit even if it meant spoiling the movie? -
That's a classic! Good one!
