  1. What about the people who made Macross M3?
  2. Jolly Rogers

    Minmay

This is a picture I saved off the net some time ago, no I don't have one so don't even bother begging.
  3. LOL, me too. You don't even need the latest CG gee-whiz to pull those scenes off.
  4. This has been bugging me. In the movies we see 2 wizards, Sauraman and Gandalf. In the book, we were told there are several wizards, each with their own color and all were charged with safeguarding Middle Earth from evil. We saw that Sauraman tricked the brown wizard in the book, but what happened to other wizards? How come Gandalf seems to be the only one that fought against Sauron?
  5. I don't deny that I hate what Sammy is doing, but if you look at it from their perspective, Sammy makes pachinko machines. They can only stay in business if people go out to have fun instead of staying at home. By forcing Sega to increase arcade output and reduce home titles output, they're working towards that agenda. Sega should have jumped at the chance when Namco expressed an interest in a merger.
  6. Did you even bother to read the original article? The only reason Sammy is going that route is because Sega's making more money on their arcade side of business than home console title development. So what if they are "cutting down a large amount of profit they could make out of console games" when they get an even larger amount of profit out of making arcade games in exchange. Given the limited development resources, I don't blame them for wanting to maximize profit by shifting more people and budget from console development to the arcade side.
  7. The 1/550 Nu Gundam came with the 1/550 Alpha Azieru kit. The 0083 team are from the entire line of 3 HG Mechanics kits Bandai put out a few years ago, although bootleg versions by Bendi and other Chinese companies materialized almost immediately.
  8. Whoa. I dunno if trading images of naked Sting with Ewoks is any improvement.
  9. Hehe, how was it? I bought it when it was priced down to $19.99 but it's still in its shrinkwrap because I never found the time and mood for it. When I played it at a TRU floor demo it felt like there's a bit of a learning curve to get through, even though I am fairly adequate at Parappa and UmJammer Lammy. Here's a little gem that few have heard of, "Incredible Crisis" for the PS1. If you can find it cheap, I recommend picking it up. It's a collection of mini games, but the real fun is the wacky plot that unfolds as you follow the lives of a typical Japanese family caught in their most unbelievable day which involves disaster, bank robbery, and even alien invasion!
  10. There are a lot of old games in my list, but honestly they've all stayed in the shrinkwrap until I got bored and started playing this year. Favorites: Tenchu 3, Onimusha 2, Silent Hill 2 Greatest Hits version, Fatal Frame / Rei, Lost War Chronicles Current: Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly / Rei - Akai Chou Would not buy again: Resident Evil: Dead Aim, Combat Queen (this was a loaner so I never paid for it, my friend did though and I feel sorry for him)
  11. It's pachinko. This site does a better job at explaining it then I can: Pachinko explained It's quite popular in Japan and a lot of businessmen go to pachinko parlors after their workday is over to relax. It's basically the Japanese version of slot machine.
  12. Sammy, the Japanese pachinko company, recently became Sega's largest shareholder by purchasing shares after merger talks fell apart last year. According to the news article cited below, they want Sega to scale back home console title development in order to focus on the more profitable arcade side of business: News on Sammy's plans for Sega I dunno about you, but this stinks since I don't even go to arcades these days. The only Sega products I enjoy now are console games.
  13. You're right, I forget the abundance of anime characters dressed head-to-toe without a piece of skin showing. Problem is, I can't even name the characters these lardass "cosplayers" are supposed to be cosplaying. I think they are just using cosplay as an excuse to dress up in garbs they'd normally be laughed at if caught wearing them. I don't even go to anime conventions anymore, just to avoid these eyesores.
  14. I am amazed at how Episode I got more "favorite" votes than Clones, considering how Ep I was panned by everyone. What was it about Clones that didn't work for you guys? Was it because Anakin was such a punk, or the cheesy "love story" lines? Or the "Yo-da man!" TV spots?
  15. Do people actually buy these anime calendars for practical purposes? The calendar section is so tiny and nearly illegible in most cases, I thought people just buy them for the exclusive artwork.
  16. 24 episodes per season. This season started at 1PM and this week's episode was 7-8PM, so there are only 17 episodes/hours left.
  17. That's the first Japanese anime calendar I've seen that was printed in Kanji. Most were in English and Arabic numbers.
  18. Pickup lines are unnecessary in a universe where practically everyone is horny and ready to go at a moment's notice.
  19. I dunno about you, but more than half of US cosplayers I've seen are overweight. Some are more morbidly obese than others, and these tend to prefer to show off their vomit-inducing mid-riffs.
  20. Maybe it's because if they used real names for the characters, all the anal fanboys start to poop all over it.
  21. Eh? Does Jack has the same tattoo on his forearm too? How could Ramon not know if his own brother served in a U.S. commando squad?! Amazing how most of the Latinos on the show prefer to speak English, even among themselves...
  22. Dang, only 2 people outright hated it. So what's up with all the bitchin' and moanin' on the other thread?!
  23. What are you talking about?! Lost War Chronicles is an action shooter just like Journey in Jaburo. In fact the gameplay and engine are the same except they improved the engine for LWC so much that the gameplay is actually fun instead of tedious like in Journey in Jaburo. A Zaku II in LWC performs nearly as well as a Gundam in JtJ. That's how much better the game engine has been tweaked. The difference is like between Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 4. Lost War Chronicles You are probably thinking of Giren's Greed for PS2. Big difference. Giren's Greed for PS2 As for MSV and ace pilots, regardless of their relative obscurity in America, it hasn't exactly stopped Bandai America from releasing toys based on them such as Gato's Gelgoog, Real Type colored figures, and even wacky designs from MSX. Many of these aren't even availble to retail stores in Japan.
  24. There are more animatronic puppets of dinos shot in the movie then you realize there are. Many of the "CG" shots are actually oversized puppets operated by hydraulics. Stan Winston made a killing from all the prop dinos he had to make for that movie.
  25. I am not sure if I missed it, but when Hector hugged Jack and said "good job", did he stick something on Jack's back? Or was it just the tatto on his forearm?
